Hamidon Raids

I look at Hamidon Raids as church fellowship for my character. It's a social time, while blasting, or holding or dropping pets. Without Hamidon Raids on a regular basis, the folks that have only recently gotten to 50 may never know what it's like. Nor will they know what we are about.

The zone cap at 50 is definitely new, and disappointing. But, not insurmountable. It's a challenge. We'll adapt and try to overcome.

In the meantime, let's set a time - once a week or everynight - just so long as we have a time set. Let's be regular and consistent. No one time is going to be good for everyone.

I've still got my ill/rad troller on the rock in position. (plus other alts that could contribute in smaller ways. )

It's been out for a while, we just haven't done a public one in a very long time. My understanding is several SG have done it since but that is far and few inbetween. The new Social event for the server became the RWZ Mothership Raids where half the teams follow the leader the other half doesn't, everyone basicly chats, but carefully because the Magus can cause team wipes if your not paying attention. It's a new Hami only Vanguard merits instead of random Hami drops.

Of late haven't lead any MSR's as some began to grief it in a fashion. If the server wants to raid we raid if they don't, we don't. Plenty of Good players have stepped up to run raids, (Hami and MSR) I say awesome. Sometimes it gets tiring herding cats.

Look, as someone who just celebrated his 1st year in the City of Heroes all I can say is that I have never done a Hamidon raid, but I would like to.

So whoever leads it is fine with me. I had never done a Mothership raid and I was lucky enough to be invited to one of AV's teams and a had great time. I have been on 4 more since then. (I have a buddy who has been playing for nearly 4 years and has never been on a successful one so it isn't totally a cakewalk).

Sure there will be new players who don't know what to do. You should be glad and happy of that. Some will be awful and some will be new players who are willing to learn.

The server needs new people willing to take part. If you make a vet only event then over time you will find that you will not have enough people. Training larger pools of potential raiders is not only a good idea, but an essential one.

Who should lead? The best leader is the one willing to lead. So whoever is wlling, Lead ON!

I have only attempted the Hami raid twice, and failed both times. However, I feel I now have a pretty good grasp of the mechanics and I am much more experienced now than when I originally tried it. The second attempt at the raid was with me leading it and I had no idea about the blooms! LOL that was an adventure. Ultimately we failed, but if you ask anyone that was there I think they'd say they had a good time. So I'd be willing to participate/coordinate/help out in any capacity.

I haven't ran a Hamidon raid since 2004-2005. Lol. That was the good ol days.

As far as EoEs, they really aren't THAT important in terms of mass numbers. Yes it might be rough if we only get a few before the spawn when we first start doing it, but after a while there will be EoE leftovers, people will have them before the raid starts, etc ... So don't totally freak over it, but being prepared is always nice!
if you do it like we do on champion, evacless, you'll need 3 eoe's per raider, so a total of 150.

I'd also be more than happy to help by transfering a 50 over to assist

DYK... Well said!

I've not been on a raid in several years myself... but as always, I try to support newer players, veterns and Liberty Sever as a whole...

Set the day/date and if RL is not standing in the way... I'll be there!

C'mon Hazy, lets go!

Lets setup some time(s) to go hunt in Monster Island over the next week so we can fill up on EOEs.

I've never done a Hami Raid but I can't imagine it's that difficult.

I think the challenge here is getting 50 people together. I don't think there are even 50 people left on Liberty.

Just let me know when you're heading over... I'm usually on most evenings from 10p to midnight eastern time.

I'd love to give a Hami raid a try. Depending on the time I got a few friends who I'm sure would love to join as well. Monday-Thursday I usually don't get on until after 8pm central and then am on well passed midnight most the time. Friday and Saturday I'm usually on earlier in the day and don't get on until after midnight. Sundays I get on 1-2 pm and on almost all day.

Blasphemer!

Working like crazy to get a tank in range but it's looking more and more like I'll just transfer my ice tank over.
(and don't get on Hazy's case, he said he couldn't do anything until after the holiday. ... so now its after the holiday ...)

If by 'in range' you mean level. I run Rikti missions (+2/x8) nightly with my DM/SD Scrapper and you're more than welcome to join for some fast xp.

I'll take you up on that. And I'll even try to be useful and not die and lay around on the floor for you to trip over.

Well don't hurry to get on. I'm PST so at the earliest I'll be on 10 your time. But even a mission or two will be fun. In general, board posters don't suck.
