A Regen on a Master Run? No way!

I think resistance power sets are pretty tough with defense buffs. Defense power sets needs resistance buffs. Regen should do well with either kind of buffs.

Maybe it's me, I think that some teams nowadays are like 8 independent players put together as a team. Maybe the only thing that the team leader will care is that there is a radiation to do debuff. Other than that, each member is expected to take care of themselves.

Most of the time I was on a failed MoSTF run with my Broadsword/regen, it was someone else that caused it. There are better powersets and ATs for a Mo run, but it is decent enough for a decent team that takes it slow and works as a group.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

Honestly, if a /regen dies on a Masters run, its likely due to a failure of the (expected) buffers on the team to keep +def or +res on them at a critical point.

I pretty sure I know more /regens with the masters badges than any other scrapper secondary. With a bubble or two and or fortitude, they really are less of a risk than say /SR. if they get hit, they can be back in better shape far faster.

I see what you did there.

True Cat, but not every Master run has a bubbler or emp... while I'd never turn a bubbler away on any mission let alone a Master run there just aren't a lot of them out there. A good emp who actually kept Fort on people would be an asset... they also are rare. Aura Rockers on the other hand are dime a dozen

If I could count on good buffers or I knew the regen in question was a top notch player then sure, I'd have no problems with them on a Mo run. Actually I don't really stress about it all that much and if an unknown regen really wanted to try a Mo I'd give it a shot... but I wouldn't expect to succeed. Heck, it's only a badge after all; bragging rights but it doesn't do anything. (In all fairness I'll admit to a LOT of stress the first time I succeeded in MoSTF... after 8 successful runs I don't worry a lot anymore)

In my experience a PuG MoSTF attempt is highly unlikely to succeed; you really need a team that works together well which doesn't often describe your typical PuG. Given a team of decent players who work together well the badge isn't too hard to get, but all it takes to fail is one person to wander off or do something stupid.

There is no reason to exclude any AT from a Master run. Each AT needs to be extra careful in certain situations in MSTF, the main ones pertaining to scrappers/melee being:
1) The unpredictability of Aeon's pet clones (and their powers) means the scrapper (and any other melee) should be using inspirations/buffs to be defense capped and to be near resistance capped. Even then they need to be ready to retreat in a fraction of a seconds notice. Ideally they should be using ranged attacks for that fight.
2) Against Ghost Widow, Scrappers can melee if agro is managed from range. Depending on the strength of their own aura they may need to turn it off to reduce any chance of stealing agro.
3) Against Scirocco they, like the tank, need to be prepared should they get hit/affected by both the EM Pulse/end drain and/or the debuff.
4) If you end up fighting multiple Inner Circle, melee need to be careful of unluckily timed combination of attacks from the AVs.
5) Lastly against Lord Recluse, they should use inspirations/buffs to be defense capped and to increase their resistance.

If you happen to be on Protector, come join us on a Thursday evening for a MSTF run, (see the thread on the Protector forum). All ATs are welcome. There are times we probably err too close the bare minimum to complete a MSTF successfully but that's why we've had 3 tank or 3 scrapper runs that have succeeded. Due to time constraints we tend not to run such configurations but we very much try to accomodate whatever people want to play.
