Anybody seen numbers this high before?

Just seems odd to me. I don't ever recall seeing this many people on the forums. It would be nearly all active subscriptions on at the same time (I'm guessing since we don't get to see sub numbers anymore).

...In what world is 7775 the same as, or even close to, 120k?

Actually, it was listing 2244 members, so even farther from 120k.

i'm surprised any servers at all are still online if Echonis honestly believes that the game has less than 5,000 subscribers.

Pretty sure it's a quirk of how the forum software works (in terms of "active" users). Probably only keeps track of who loaded a forum page within the last hour or two...

Plus, I'm faily sure active game subscriptions hovers around the 100k mark; just saying.

Prior to 4/29, I think the highest count was like 6 or 7k, from around the AE fiasco time last year.

PS; your math is off by, like, a hundred thousand at least.

Also yeah remember that the number there is for the last 5 minutes. And, that's ONLY the forums, not the GAME. There are far more people playing the game than come visit the forums. Just mention the forums under Atlas and you'll get a parade of "what forums? we have forums?" and maybe one or two "hey who are you there? I'm x!"

Honestly? No. It's called being facetious. Yes the subs are somewhere around 100-150k, which is still a guess due to a lack of transparency since the end of 2008. And I am aware that the peak number of subs online at the same time (in-game) was around 17-20k in 2008. Here on the forums though, I seem to recall only seeing about 3k on at the same time. Apparently I wasn't here on the 29th either and missed the gathering of over 10 thousand of you fellow forumites. My initial question, "Anybody seen numbers this high before?" has been answered.

2244 members merely means that 2244 people were logged into the forums. Doesn't include those who are merely checking various parts not logged in.
