Are combat allies broken in AE missions?

They won't fight no matter what.

This may not be limited to AE. I was doing the last mission of the Introduction to Ouroboros arc last night, and Mender Lazarus would not help me beat on the Meteor. I'm not sure if it was just the Meteor, or if it was all fighting though, didn't go near any shivans once I got ML. I've got lots of alts starting that arc though, so I can check it more thoroughly later.

Champion 50s (blueside): Marc Bridge, Nicole Bridge, Fred Blaze, Colleen Storms, Sun's Chariot, Moon's Huntress, Point of Pride
Guardian 50s (redside): Connie Mand
AE arc: Spirit Plane Invasion, #29282, @Honbrid

I did that mission last night and he fought the Shivans on the way but just stood and watched while I beat on the meteor at the end.

Mender Lazarus has been broken for a while, I did that arc on my troller about a month ago and he didn't attack the meteor back then either. I do remember him helping when the arc first came out, cos I was on my emp/arch defender and was exceedingly relieved I wouldn't have to plink an item with object-level health to death.

Have you tried re-clicking on the ally, as you sometimes have to do if you get out of range and they lost their lock on you.

I found this sometimes helps with borked combat allies too, tag them move away from them so they follow you and their AI kicks in to go into combat again.

Hope it helps as a workaround until it's properly fixed.

Nuff Said...
Coolio Wolfus leader of Coolios Crusaders on Union.
Tekna Logik leader of Teknas Tormentors on Defiant.
AE arc 402506, 'The Rise and Demise or Otherwise of Tekna Logik...'.

One of my AE missions (created shortly after I14) has an ally--sometimes he fights, and sometimes he stands there like an idiot doing nothing. So the ally AI in AE does seem a bit wonky, and I think always has been.

As for allies outside of AE, I did two missions yesterday with allies and both helped out just like they were supposed to, but non AE allies can be a bit wonky too.

And the thing regenerates.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.

This. I was working on my latest and there's an ally with AR. I went over, tackled her surrounding bad-guys, wiped them up and she stood there doing the animation I set for her. Then she stood there. During that time I was double-checking her bio and such (yeah, I wasn't staring at her *coughs* I was just double-checking her bio ). I was interrupted after like a good twenty seconds when she whipped out her rifle and shot at/agroed a bunch of foes across the room.

Usually, I've found this toon to be pretty blood thirsty and gung-ho when I've been testing my arc, so I haven't seen this problem myself.

Things to check:
- you did make sure and set them for aggressive, right?

- maybe the powerset has something to do with it, try changing it out? I could be wrong but it seems like my toon mentioned above, being set for ranged and having AR, has an incredibly far perception range and isn't afraid to use it.
