Endurance should really not be a problem anymore... Cardiac alpha solves all!!!!

That build is pretty good, I'm just not crazy about the slotting in Build Up or Ripper.

I'm thinking of respecing into something very close to your most recent post. However I think I'm not gonna go with maneuvers and pick up Cloak of Fear.
Any slot advice on that? unless you haven't really used the power much, i'm sure I can figure it out.
Also put on a +4 knockback protection in hover (which I'll switch to combat jumping.)
Getting rid of focused accuracy helped my endy a lot it seems. Need to work on the slotting described a few posts back (still have a ton of standard io's in there).
Accidentally only put 5 slots in build up instead of 6...
Going over this thread a bit, I noticed a few ppl tried to cap S/L or Melee def. I'm of the opinion that if you can't cover all 3 positions, you're better off w/S/L. Since I19, I've gotten greedy and am trying to also cover E/N. I can softcap S/L easily enough, but trying to do S/L/E/N w/scrapper #s, I fall a bit short on the S/L and can only get up to 40-ish for E/N. Not crazy about the recharge #s on Hasten & BU, nor end redux in the two damage auras. Might be better not muling out Brawl and settling for a 40-ish S/L def, at least til Cardiac boost is available. I'm still mulling my final build over, as my Spines/Dark is only 35 or so.

David your endurance usage brings me pain lol. I'm going to figure a way to go through and lower it, more than likely you'll take a few decimal percentages of defense but I think the trade off will be more beneficial.

The cardiac boost is amazing. My Katana/Dark endurance numbers are almost that bad in Mids'. I'm not sustainable for AV and pylon fights yet, but it's more than enough for regular play. With the uncommon cardiac, he'll probably still bleed out in longer fights, but that's what blues are for, and the very rare will improve on that.
But if you can trade only a few decimal points of defense for significantly better endurance management, I agree that would be worth it, at least to me. |

Dark/Shield Build Thread
Without the Cardiac Incarnate boost, I'm at 1.65% endurance usage and at 3.12% recovery with all my toggles on.
I also don't have all the slots finished yet that you posted Santorican, but feel pretty decent with those numbers. I'm feelin pretty good with those numbers so far and not sure I want to go with Cardiac. I'm thinking of maybe doing Musculature for more damage but not quite sure yet.
I don't have one set of impervium armor and missing the sets in ripper and impale. (I also think I'm missing the Dark Regen build you had up.

While I definitely don't build so that I need them to function, I eat them all the time. I generally keep 1-3 lines of insp that the given character needs (Greens, lucks, whatever) and 2 lines where I just eat/combine whatever I get as I want to. Inspirations are stupid-powerful and drop like candy.
I used to hoard them so I ended up with a full neat tray of whatever large insps I felt the char could use most. I saved them "for emergencies". Except I never used them, because I thought "well, I might need it more later". So every time I'd get in a tough fight I'd either not use them or use them very sparingly. The result being that I basically never got the benefit of inspirations (which is significant).
I've semi-weaned myself off the habit so I'm only saving some and still using a lot. Seriously, inspirations are great. Use 'em.

An Offensive Guide to Ice Melee
This is my planned Spines/Dark ....intended to be paired with the Tier 2 Cardiac when I finish. I shot for 33% on the big four. Focused Accuracy is only to be used when absolutely needed (and I'll use CP with it). This way one luck should make me golden for most situations. I also found lots of HP to be more than handy on my Spines/Fire and Spines/Elec.....so I tried to optimize that also (1850hp).

So I decided to go crazy and even though I slotted the first cardiac, I went in another direction and put Musculature in it.
Without Cardiac, my end usage is somewhere around a 1.65-1.70/sec
With Cardiac in, my end usage is roughly 1.45/sec
My recovery is sitting pretty around 3.18/sec. (and will get better shortly with some moving around of slots and new IO's..
So what do ya think? does my 1.65 vs 3.18 justify not going with cardiac and opting for more damage? I think it makes sense. But maybe I'm missing something.
Also.. anyone slot LoTG +7.5% in any power and if so what does the difference look like? Thinking of moving some stuff around and putting one in cloak of darkness and one in tough or weave (whichever is the Def one.. i always forget).

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Going for survivability, defence and AoE attacks. Also, kinda on the cheap is nice
While I like the build I don't like the under slotting for Impale and Throw Spines. I also don't like fire ball builds but that is another horse entirely . I'm sure the slotting you have in those two powers are fine, I'd probably try to get more endurance recovery.

I made an adjustment to Dark Regen where it is now 2 Numina's and 2 Miracles.
Currently I am at level 47 and have it pretty much slotted like this. So, if you can adjust Impale and Throw, let me know. I would love to dump on some more damage especially to Throw.
I've been playing around with it and I'm not sure if I can find a way to maintain soft capped melee defense while adding more slots to Impale and TS.

Just bookmarked this thread for my mutant shark Spine / DA. I'm trying to resist the allure of Body Mastery and stay with Leviathan until I can build a Cardiac Boost, but right now, it's tough.
Also, I'm trying to softcap Melee defense at least, and seems I can only get get close on the other two positions if I do that. This is the most slot-crunched build I've ever dealt with, I always come up short of what I want / need. Sure seems like trying to cram Leadership / Fighting / Combat Jumping / Flight onto this one guy is giving me nightmares...
Anyways, I have one last vetspec left, and I plan to use this thread to help me make it count. So, thanks for all the delicously helpful builds, guys, I really appreciate it.

I like the build and slotting you just posted. However I recall someone saying earlier in the thread that taking Hasten might not be that great cause of the endy crash. I'm considering not going with it and possibly replacing it with another attack or assult.
Also, not sure I'd want another toggle in Maneuvers, but I'll look at the numbers and see if it'll make enough of a difference that i'd use it. Alternately, if I was going to do another toggle, I might choose cloak of fear.
I think I will replace Hover with combat jumping.. i think it makes more sense.
