So the buggy Nemesis Staff/Blackwand Animation...

So, as a number of people have seen and mentioned in beta/live it seems a good portion of the time using one of these odd animations I've been wondering about something...

Anyone else think the 'Sword from the stone' buggy animation is kind of cool? I'm necessarily saying I don't want a fix or whathave but, with the Nem Staff at least, I find it to be kind of interesting. Also if anyone happens to know is this an animation thats used for another power somewhere? Like what if anything is it supposed to be tied to?

Actually, I find it more appropriate for the Black Wand, myself. Power 'drawn from the underworld' and all.

Where is it originally from, anyway? Never seen that in-game before.
It looks kinda cool for drawing the blackwand...but not so much in an actual fight. It still fires ok, just...looks wierd.

It looks totally strange, agreed. But I was pleased to see the COT Energy Mages and the like were doing the same thing.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

The real problem I have is that it includes a long root time whenever you hit the power, even if it's not recharged.

Tuatha lieutenants and bosses do a similar thing when they pull a large branch/root from the ground and throw it at your character.

Don't think of it as a bug. Think of it as a free Croquet mallet emote.

Yes. During beta I remember combining the bugs in the DS whip animations (wouldn't root for the full time they're supposed to) with Blackwand to get my whip and the neat-looking bugged Blackwand animation, without sacrificing any time to animation bugs.

And before that, the Devouring Earth have always done this as a way to show them being destructive. They usually do it in hazard zones like Eden, but it can be observed in the hill areas of Founders' Falls. They'll pull out what looks like scrap iron from the ground, though, similar to what Jurasic uses for his caraxe.

I actually think the animation itself is really cool. If we ever get the ability to customize our weapon draw animations, I would DEFINITELY want to have this available.
