Finally, all AT's to 50!
I'm almost at all AT's to 50 myself, just MM at 38 and WS at 44 to go.
I seems that our view of the different archtypes is fairly similar. I have also struggled to get into masterminds, it seems like playing by proxy to me. I really loved leveling my SoA, I went with a huntsman build and thought of him as a no nonsence gun weilding badass bringing 'justice' to the freaks and weirdos in the rogue isles.
Congratulations Utopia!!
Next Goal: I 50 of each powerset combo, of each AT...
...What?
Where to now?

I think that was my problem with the Warshade. There was just so many powers I had never seen before, and I ended up with no clear role in combat. Just me running around like a crazy person shooting purple.

Triform or Human form are both valid. I picked Triform for increased utility.
A few key things for a Warshade;
-Hasten. Speed is good. Also, Super speed allows you to 1) Travel faster, 2) achive true stealth
-Sunless Mire. The Damage Lord. Its like build up, only it increases in magnitude and damages a mob. Whats not to like?
-Stygian Circle. Forget stamina, this is where its at. Kill off two enemies, have it three slotted with 2 end mod and an end red and you are home laughing, back to full bars. It recharges real fast too.
-Unchain Essence, aka the Corpse Bomb. This thing is great. Pick off the weakest member of the enemy mob, and then turn them into a mini PBAoE of explodiness. That, and it stuns.
-Dark Extraction. This is where the gravy train begins. You can have two of these 'Fluffies' stack with Hasten on, and my oh my are they destructive. If you took Nova form as well, these two make you a one bada$$ gunship in a sea full of little fish.
-Eclipse. The pinacle. This turns you into a walking doom machine and, the best bit is, it doesnt crash. Stack this on a mob and, with some IO work, it can be perma. Then you're laughing.
Warshade are...really unique. I think they are the one AT I would actually class as such. They are a progression from Stalker (Sneak up, Sunless Mire) to Controller (Stuns, Gravity Well and Corpse Bomb) through to the final blaster/tanker stage where everything dies (Dark Extraction, Eclipse, blastblastblast). And then feeding off the bodies of the fallen? Doesn't get much better than that
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Many congrats. Good achievement!
What's your next project?
Just wanted to add that I love controllers - there's a LOT more to them than Kin or Rad.
My most powerful toon is an Earth/Thermal but I've also got a fun Mind/Storm and an Ill/Sonic and all are pretty good even before starting on the IO sets - so I'd definitely advise you to give them a go
Thelonious Monk
Dominator - A big MEH. This seems really dependent on powers meshing. I love the hell out of my plant/thorn, but other combos weren't as successful. The control is nice, but some seem lost without the help of a defender secondary. Plus there are a lot of powers that are really endurance heavy and instead of transference I get to use firebreath? Not as helpful... The Domination inherit is a real life safer though. 7/10

The inherent power gives you a full endurance bar, so endurance isn't really that much of a problem, especially on teams where Domination builds quickly. Your exact build will make a big difference on how you feel about this AT. Slotting for recharge and getting Hasten will make the character play much better. And IOs will make a huge difference in terms of End consumption (as long as you make sure you slot sets that give good end reduction).
Brute - Now this is what I'm talking about. If I can learn to play a tank this way, I'll be in business. Again, running out of endurance is annoying, especially in the never ending quest to keep fury up. But the damage output of this class is massive. So many neat combinations of powers also. The only downside is if there are several brutes on the team, which there usually are, getting and keeping fury is almost impossible. 9/10 |
I ran the Ice Mistral SF with an Energy/Energy brute last weekend after mostly soloing with the character. I wasn't quite sure how she'd hold up on a big team, but she was the last one standing in the final confrontation. The hard-hitting single-target attacks were quite useful for finishing off the AV.
I'm either finished with all the AT's, or I have 2 to go, depending on how you look at it.
If you count the epics as 2 at's each, which i guess they are that way on the Char creation screen, I'm short a Warshade and Widow. But me, I just consider them "epic" classes and have Peacebringer and Solider at 50. I just have no desire to run a widow, and only a passing intrest in maybe one day playing a warshade.
Not that i don't like how they play, it's just, well, they kind of come with there own backstory and concets built in, and half the fun of alting IMO is making up your own backstory and concepts. LoL. And besides, I'm not really intrested in "forcing" myself to play something just to have it anymore. I've done it. (Earth/Fire dom and Elec/Elec/Elec blaster spring to mind.) It's not fun to turn a game into work, and I just wont do it anymore. (although, i have to say, that i eventually grew to really REALLY like my earth/fire dom. The dom adjustments, and IO'ing her out really helped. My Elec/Elec... on the other hand... eh. I LOVE electic powers in comic, so i wanted and made one... but do NOT love them in this game... eh. Needless to say, i have HIGH hopes for Elec control! )
Grats to you though. Good work!

If you can't learn to do something well... learn to enjoy doing it poorly...
Scarlet Shocker - My next project is to work on my dozens of alts that have been waiting for me to get back them. So far I've played like 15 of them in just a few days. Just whatever I felt like playing, lol. I am excited for my Petless Demon Mastermind though.
Techbot Alpha - I loved the uniqueness of the Warshade. The manipulating the defeated enemies was really a great touch.
Shadow Ravenwolf - Ain't no way in heck, lol.
Seldom - That's a way of looking at Dominators that I didn't think of. Perhaps they will feel different to me if I look at them like Blasters. Thanks!
And to everyone else, thanks for the congrats. Those of you working on a similar goal, keep at it. I didn't do it just say I did though, I wanted to really learn what made every AT tick. I think it has helped me become a much better player, and I'm sure the same can be said for each of you. Again, Thanks!
Congratulations! I'm another person going for this as well... my 50s are three Controllers (Fire/Rad, Earth/Sonic, Illusion/Trick Arrow), a Defender (Empathy/Electric), two Scrappers (Claws/Invuln and Spines/Regen), a Tanker (Stone/Stone), a Warshade (tri-form), a Brute (Stone/Willpower), a Dominator (Ice/Ice), a Mastermind (Mercs/Poison), a Stalker (Energy/Energy), and a Night Widow. Still need to get there with a Corruptor (40 Rad/Kin), Blaster (33 Sonic/Electric), Arachnos Soldier (33 Bane), and Peacebringer (22 all-human). The main interest the game holds for me is trying out all the different powersets on all the different archetypes. I don't need them to all be 50, but I want to experience them all.
(Edit: Oh, I've been playing since I2... I'm not the fastest at leveling, it's taken somewhere from 6 months to 5 years for each 50. I definitely have alt-itis... 100 characters and counting... sheesh.)

Congrats to you OP
I also 'completed' this task as well. I finished off my last AT (being a Peacebringer) about 4 months ago I think (maybe less).
I love, love, loved my Warshade....
I hate, hate, hated my Peacebringer....
:P
Oh and Ninjas are fine as a MM primary! My first MM was a Ninja/DM MM. Although I will say with Ninjas....you most likely want a secondary with an AoE heal...in this case either Dark Miasma, Thermal or Pain.
Ninjas do die a lot when facing mobs that do lots of AoEs (looks at Scrapyarders or Earth Thorn Caster CoT minions...Longbow Flamethrowers...etc...).
