Ill/Therm

having not really made a controller before(especially for pvp) I'm not really sure what i'm doing but i've thrown this together and looking for some critique. For instance im not really sure if i should take more therm and go the buffing route i.e. pick up forge and cauterize. but im really looking for advice on power choice and slotting (for instance should i even bother with SI?)

Don't need Spectral Terror, and I'd take Phase/Primal over Hibernate (PB'd heals and Forge mostly).

is phase worth dropping tactics and hiber for?

Maybe not on a dueling build, but I'd certainly do it on a team build.

well all i had planned this toon for was small KB and dueling. would use a blaster for team zone stuff.

You're going to want Spectral Wounds for dueling and you don't really need Superior Invisibility. I'd swap out Maneuvers for Assault and move the LotGs in SI to there. Pick up Cauterize over Forge (IMO of course) if you have room for a spare power after that.

the placate proc placated the psuedo pet blind creates...so there is no real benefit if slotting it in blind...better off slotting with a lil acc/dam/hold and maybe a few procs

What use does Spectral Terror have? Because i wasn't sure whether to include it in my build or not for dueling. Is the fear duration like blaster Scare (Hopes :P)

I have an Ill/Therm I used to use for Test PvP. But thermals aren't what they used to be for team pvp, so I recently respeced him into a PvE build/TF beast (with purples and what not). The other day I decided to take him into RV just for kicks. While in RV, this purpled out brute wanted to duel me. Understand that I don't have a travel power besides ninja run and I have no KB protection. We dueled and the brute got wrecked (he was a Fire/WP/GW). Which totally surprised. But with ST and maneuvers + Ice armor + SI + steadfast unique + group invis, the brute could barely land a blow on me (40% s/l def.)--not to mention if he did, I had a quick recharging heal and Hibernoob, which I never even came close to using. All in all, melee toons got seriously buffed in i13 for pvp--but ill/thermal can definitely make them whimper.

lolwut?

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

Trustori...for zone pvp at least. Try fighting a Fire/SS/Earth sometime or a MA/Regen.

No, not for zone. for duels, sure they're harder to kill but they certainly didn't get a buff with i13. regen aside, i've been able to kill pretty much any other melee character with ease on my blaster. duel's they aren't *that* good and zone/arena its all about taunt. I left regen out since i haven't been able to kill a decent regen that knows what he/she is doing with said blaster, i usually bust out the therm corr for regen's. But my point is that I can't think of any point where i would rather be on a melee than ranged.

I see what you're saying. You were talking about arena and I was thinking zone. And with my Psi/EM and regens--I have had the same exact experience as you have.

That same blaster which you use to kill pretty much any other melee toon, I would like to try that blaster on my melee toon; he's not regen. I agree 110 percent with what Murdock said. i13 was a big deserved buff for melee in PvP.

This is not a call out or challenge to show off. This is perhaps to show, in practice, how blasters vs other melee, IMO, do not have that much of an advantage if they want to play for the win and not for the draw.

Repeat Offenders forever !

Make all IO's available in Paragon Market! NCSoft, the chinese are making BIG money selling influence and other stuff in the game. Best way to stop them = make the paragon market a place to buy all IO's and perhaps other things as well.
