What demon secondaries are you testing? How is it working out?

If I got the Aid Other/Self powers...and just standing back and healing my pets as fast as possible with those powers...I couldn't do that....I'd roll something with an AoE heal like Dark or Thermal or Pain.

Ninjas and Zombies are two primaries I would 'have' to pair with one of the above sets...Demons don't seem to be all that bad...sure they go to melee but they are reasonable and stay at range a good amount of the time. Edit: *from my limited 16-17 levels of experience with Demons*

I will make a DS/Poison when i17 goes live though....we'll see how long it lasts
Well, it helps to spread the debuff love around, and take out the big threats first. Such as anything that creates burn patches. Between a slotted up alkaloid and slotted up aid other, it's not so bad. It's only things that love their aoe damage that cause problems. Even then I can normally save 2 of the 3 genin. And Jounin are sturdy enough to survive a bit while I recover the genin.

Mind you, I dipped into the medicine pool because the /psn heal wasn't enough alone.

I would like to roll a demon/storm, but the thought of demons running into melee completely negates the benefit of hurricane generally, and to a lesser extent freezing rain. Keeping range is also a form of damage mitigation, and ... ugh.

I tried a zombie storm, and the stupid buggers would just run up to things and die before I could heal them, it was a disaster.

Then you should have followed them in; smacked the enemy with Hurricane. My Necro/Storm is quite effective. In my opinion, with MMs & Def/Corrs, Storm is best played up close, with hurricane debuffing the enemy.

It's pretty basic really. For powers:

Ninja
Summon Genin (1 acc/3 dam)
Train (2 end redux)
Summon Jounin (1 acc/3 dam)
Summon Oni (1 acc/3 dam/1 hold/1 end redux)

You get the idea. For secondary, I ended up taking all but Antidote. General slotting was 1 acc/3 of whatever enhancement type is needed for the debuff. Think I put a range in nox gas too. Aid Other and Aid Self were slotted with 3 heal. Didn't even bother with interupt enhancements.

One thing that helped was creating pet target binds.

Running in scatters enemies, and they get pushed outside of the range of hurricane or something happens because they don't stay constantly debuffed. Hurricane sadly isn't some magic device for damage mitigation. It works well when you have ranged pets though, to draw enemies to the hurricane. Trying to chase them with it is stupid.

The trick as I under stand it is to NOT get directly in melee. Rather get them in the outer area of Hurricane. That has a tohit debuff, then if they get into melee range the knockback part kicks in. Some people use hurricane to herd enemies into a corner.

First, you either brush up against them or pin them in corners. One of my favorites is to stay at the edge of Freezing Rain so enemies that walk out get knocked back in and debuffed. Another is dropping Freezing Rain on the back of a crowd, and running into the front edge of the crowd, knocking them back into the Rain and debuffing them. Which is fun, weakens them, useful against groups spread out too far for Rain, and draws aggro to me instead of my pets.

And keep in mind that the debuff from Hurricane take a bit to go away.

I have a pain MM now and don't want another. I tried Demon/Trap and deleted it.

Demon/Thermal is fun but so is Demon/dark. Poison shares its debuffs with the demons debuff attacks. Quite nice so far.

Just trying to figure out which one will be the most lethal for ripping up the foes.

I'm still trying to decide between Demon/Poision or Pain myself. And I can't get on Test to try them out.

I went with Demon/Storm for concept and so far, I'm loving it. Just got Hell on Earth yesterday and I gotta say, demon damage meshes pretty well after laying Freezing Rain. Of course, it only gets better after Hurricane. So no doubt in my mind that I will be running the same thing when it goes live

I am trying to stick with demons/thermal, but my god it is so boring. I can barely stand it honestly. I am sure it will be a ton nicer once I get forge and the debuffs, but can I even last that long? Ugg, I miss Storm, because it is never boring! I might just drop the awesome resist in exchange for fun lol.

Get the personal attacks, use the personal attacks, and never have endurance again

Yes, I have two attacks, and they help. You know honestly I think my dislike of thermal is really about just not even wanting to play the demon set at all knowing that none of it really counts and I am going to have to re-do it all anyway, so I am kind of playing sets I would never play to see how they are. I tried a DS/Poison and he was cooler than I would have expected. I tried a DS/TA and it actually works pretty well with demons (glue arrow is a lot of fun)

I am trying to stay away from dark since that is at the top of my mind. I am trying to play different so my experiences are kinda new. I want to try pain, but it seems exactly like thermal until L16 or something and I do not feel like doing that again lol. I wish we had some new secondaries to go with demons.

I know already I am rolling two DS'ers. First being /thermal and the second being /poison

I plan to take all personal attacks as I level, then later as I get more abilities available I will change specs and likely keep only one or two attacks

Im using Demon/Dark but i think i would rather have Demon/Radiation that usually works for me best

i never through the Trap arrows would work well never tried it well it is testing things so many ill try that out good advice Ohh another thing sometimes when the player gets Taunt and just uses that instead of the weapon makes the henchmen attack first then if you want afterwards so they Focus on the pets rather than you just a suggestion

I often thought the same thing since I have so many /rad controllers and that is my normal secondary. I have thought about it for quite a long time with other people making the same suggestion, but I personally have come to the conclusion that /rad might not be as cool as it might seem in thought. I think that /sonic would end up being much nicer and more fun overall for masterminds.

I just think it depends on how they bring radiation over to masterminds and how they nerf it since they definitely will not bring it over how it is now, it would be way to powerful most likely. I for one would Loooove to have choking cloud with a lockdown chance for hold on a mastermind ...

The only problem my masterminds ever had with /dark was with Longbow, but they seem to give everyone problems honestly ... I will be playing blue side, so I guess longbow will not be an issue lol.
