That's retarded. It's not even gamebreaking. It's been that way since forever. It's a dickmove, but a legal dickmove. Get over it and target someone you can kill within 10 minutes.

People who use Hibernate to escape are noobs.

Yes, I do know the definition of exploit in this context. Obviously, you don't.

An exploit, in video games, is the use of a bug or design flaw by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.[1] Exploits have been classified as a form of cheating, however the precise determination of what is or is not considered an exploit can be controversial. This debate stems from a number of factors but typically involves the argument that the issues are part of the game and require no changes or external programs to take advantage of them.

Here is an example sentence using the word exploit as it pertains to CoV PvP.

Psikirious used hiberQuit to avoid defeat and some people call this a hibernate exploit.

Who are some people and who are they to determine what an exploit is?
Also its not a bug.

That or you can just die and go to the hospital. There isn't any penalty for that. Maybe hurt feelings.

Maybe this is why PvP IO drop rates are so low. No one is dying! They're logging out instead.

That's right. They just Hiberquit and hold on to their rep. No drops.
Being defeated isn't that bad of an ego crusher. All you gotta do is go to the hospital. If you've been PvPing for awhile you can handle it. No one likes it but defeat is part of the game. or it used to be. lol
The point Solient Green makes is valid. More defeats more possible PvP drops. Good for every one.

Take a look at exploit definition again.

"An exploit, in video games, is the use of a bug or "DESIGN FLAW" by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.
Exploits have been classified as a form of cheating, however the precise determination of what is or is not considered an exploit can be controversial.

I believe that Hibernate was not designed to let a person log of for two seconds and come back to play with a fresh twenty second PvP countdown. In my opinion, this is a big time abuse of a power. A Design Flaw / Exploit
Some people that use the HiberQuit may feel that this is a legitimate use of hibernate. I see it as a design flaw used to cheat a player out of a defeat and possible PvP recipe drop.

Or...it's just people getting butt hurt because they can't kill fast enough. LOLOLOLOL!!1111

They should fix this "exploit", especially since someone doesn't like it.

As far as zones go, they should also fix it so that when you're fighting someone they don't run away easily, cuz that's just crap; people should stand and fight and FC it up. They should also do something about those stupid support toons coming in to zones and continuously healing dudes to full HP, that's just plain stupid. And those nubs that pop greens like candy they should do something about that; I hate it when I can't kill someone in pvp. And what's with all these powers that do a crap load of stuff like buffs, they should scale that crap down. And they should do something about squishies being squishy, like give them some resist or something.

Oh wait...

Ok seriously.. this is not a bug, you can log out anywhere, anytime, no questions asked. This applies to PvP and PvE. Also, if someone logs out in hibernate once they get back they pop out and you have 90+ seconds to kill them during the no phase timer.

Also, if it takes you 10+ min to kill a squishy in i13+ retard damage mashing pvp you have a serious issue aside from hibernate.

I went and saw a PvP counselor, the following is a transcription of our discussion:

Me: "I just can't seem to pvp effectively."

PvP Counselor: "What seems to be the problem?"

Me: "I can't get any kills and I die alot."

PvP Counselor: "What build are you using?"

Me: "A Fun/Happy time build."

PvP Counselor: "Have you tried looking into viable PvP builds?"

Me: "I like superman"

PvP Counselor: "No, like COH/COV builds that have proven to be effective in PvP."

Me: "Why don't they just change the game so I get can get kills and stay alive longer."

PvP Counselor: "Why don't you try getting with some experienced PvPers and have them teach you how to PvP. Game experiences change with online play you know, and it might be a good idea to learn to adapt."

Me: "No, they should changed the game."

PvP Counselor: "You should at least consider it and give it some thought."

Me: "No, change the game."

PvP Counselor: "What if I recommended some toons/builds to try out?"

Me: "No, I already have a Super Duper/Gipper Awesome build that punches things, and I'm working on a Ninja/Kitty strike build that flies and has fairy wings."

PvP Counselor: **Speechless**

Me: "K, change the game"

I think not being able to escape under current conditions is a design flaw. Therefore camping people are using an exploit. Right?

You forget that many people have to hiber/phase because of retarded TS on first place. So what, i am suppose to log in zone where one side camps other and feed them kills? No, ty.

Besides drop rates are low not because of hiber, they are low because pvp Ios drop as often as purple + you get this chance only every 5 min....you will never kill as many players in given time as NPCs = your math is wrong, hibernate/quit "fix" wouldn't fix the issue.

Unfortunately for you, it doesn't matter what you believe. The issue is caused by how the logout system works in CoH. If you think they are going to completely redesign the game after like 7 years because ONE total person complained about it in those 7 years, you should probably stop thinking that.

This game is FULL of real game-breaking bugs, all of which are ignored for years. This issue is simply meaningless compared to some of the other bugs we have. Learn to deal with it.

True story. And about 3 days later, I13 was born.

Make it like the arena when you log into zone. you cant move but you can toggle you powers, buff up and what not.

At least i think you can. Don't arena much but you used to be able to move around in the arena while the time was counting down.

If you're feeding the other side kills that's your issue. If hiber/phase are the only way you can survive because of TS, that's also your issue.

My comment was sarcastic about the drops...but dying never hurt anyone in this game and it certainly wouldn't hurt for you to die instead of logging out.

Design Flaw thats what it is. An Exploit is either a "design flaw" or a bug. In this case, it is a design flaw. Hibernate being used to cheat some one out of their defeat.
I have to repeat myself to you so you can understand what an exploit is.
And Kiri, you said I'm a daft. That comment actually tells me how juvenile you are. If you had something relevant to say about the post you would have stated something intelligent instead of name calling and bringing yourself down to a level of an immature.

Hibercamping is also a "cheap" tactic.

Dying kind of hurt, cuz
1. you have to rest up
2. you lose eventuall buffs you had (AM, veng etc)
3. If feeding other side kills is my issue, than i deal with it how i want to ( and i choosed to hiber/quit/arena). Also, i would love to see you surviving on cold corr with 1450Hp (for example) vs team of psi/em blasters w/o hiber/phase :P
