When I feel like getting Purps, I solo some AE arcs until I get one. Sometimes it takes me a few days running @ +1 x8 to get a Purp. Sometimes I get two in a night.
@ -1 and +0 I get too many lvl 49 and 48 recipes that aren't quite worth the increased speed (or so it feels). So I bump it up to +1.
I forget what the kill to Purp ratio is. It seems I heard 1500:1, 5000:1, and 15000:1.
I'm pretty sure it's not 15000:1. But I haven't kept track well enough to distinguish between 1500:1 and 5000:1.
I don't sell them though. I "hoard". I see them as an investment. They keep their value despite inflation. When I get ready to spend some money, I sell some Purps and buy what I want. In the mean time I am filling my storage.
One day I will sell enough at once to get my ebil monocle rights.
Would a screenshot of a full enhancement tray of Purps be enough to gain admittance to the ebil club?
My understanding is that only Dev's Choice AE arcs drop purples. Does that match your experience?

Well, assuming I ever see a purple, I'll probably sell it if the prices stay as insane as they are. Why? Because I've never gotten good enough at the market to reliably buy them. Any that I get will be one lone piece of a set I'll never finish. Frankly, I'd rather have the inf to turn into prestige so that I can actually reach the point of having a functional base. (The base is fun, if frustrating, to mess around with, and benefits all my characters. A single purple drop currently isn't even a benefit to the character that has it, because I'll never complete the set.)
