This is not a new issue, but if anything it seems to have gotten worse over time. It's been written about before, but I'm just back after a bit of a break and it's happening to me a LOT now.

About half the time I go through an elevator or into a bank door, my pets just run off. Sort of like when they run back to kill a Freak that res'd... but this is for no apparent reason.

The problem is it's extremely inconvenient in regular missions, and downright problematic in banks, especially if you're catching the ambush just inside the bank door. Nothing like trying to dismiss and resummon all your pets with half a dozen or more Longbow smacking you around.

I've tried waiting - after 5 or so minutes SOME of the pets will come back. Sometimes the missing pets will be standing by the door after a few minutes, inert and non-responsive. Sometimes they just won't come back at all, but I'll see them off in the distance running around (the green box off through the walls when you select them).

I've experimented with different modes - i.e. put the in "stay/passive" before I go in the door, put them in BG, put them in "follow/passive" etc. Nothing seems to have any discernible effect - when they want to poof, they just poof.

Has anyone found a work-around? I play mostly mastermind alts, and as such this is near-and-dear to me :/ I'd really like to find out the "magic combo" that gets the dolts through doors reliably.

Again, elevators and bank doors. That's where it happens. Very often. Generally, only dismissing all and resummoning (and rebuffing) all will reset them.

Of course I've reported it it - but we know how long it takes to find, let along fix, such wonky behavior.

On what size teams is this happening? I'v been soloing on my MM all day and haven't see this yet. The one mayhem Mish I did to day tho I set my pets to passive stay ran to the bank (from the PPD station was on 0(5) and wasn't ready for it >.<) After entering the bank then set them to Defensive Follow I.E. BG mode and they all came right away.

Your pets will port to you if you get far enough away this isn't a solution to your problem but I have never see what your describing my self.

I almost only ever play solo. This happens ALL the time to me... don't know if team size has anything to do with it at all.

Currently I'm working on a Ninja/FF. Not sure if that has anything to do with the periodicity.

As to porting, what happens is they keep going in and out of the doors. They follow me through the doors, immediately run back through, then I'll see them running around like idiots... it's actually somewhat funny with elevators. They'll run in and out of them, then dash off who knows where.

I thought maybe it was just graphical artifacts, but it's not - they're really not there. I can tell because when one or two come back, they'll be in PBAE buffs like dispersion bubble, but the other ones are NOT. They're off... somewhere.

Like I said it's not game-breaking (I just have to make sure I deal with ambushes BEFORE I go in the bank door), it's just a major annoyance. It's weird.

this happens quite a bit to me too, at least every other elevator regardless of what mode and commands my pets are given. even if you try to individually or team teleport them back to you, they start this "sliding" type of animation and are unresponsive drifting thru the walls.

ugh.......from what I hear this all started with pets zoning with you. If that's the case I'd rather them not zone with me, but I'm just getting used to dismissing/resummoning them. Sometimes one or two of them will run right into mobs, so when I click follow, they'll run back, kiting mobs back at me while the rest of my pets are up on the roof or running in and out of the elevators. Death ensues.....

Yes, precisely. When I summon them they sometimes run up, then dash right back off again.

Havent seen any of this behavour Only this so far was an arsion side mission in a mayhem all my pets exect one spec ops came in with me but never cam throu the other side its like they were stuck inbetween. other than that nothng.

I saw this pretty regularily after the change to pet zoning went in to the game. I found that if your pets are already summoned when you enter a mission the first elevator/door you go through will cause them to run off randomly - almost like they got stuck outside the walls or something like that. If you summon your pets inside the mission I don't see this happening. Now, I haven't played my MM's recently (like, not for a month or two) so I don't know if the issue is still prevalent but it was pretty regular right after the zoning update.

The only time I didn't see it was on some arachnos lab maps - if the pets go through a different elevator door than you they sometimes skip the bug. It seemed to me at times that it had something to do with space inside the entrance door - if you where all squeezed in to the same tight area the code that 'pushes' pets out of the way got messed up and pushed them outside the wall. I don't know why that would only happen to pre-summoned pets so at the moment this is just a WAG as to the cause.

So far the only reliable method I have found for getting them back is to dismiss them and re-summon. I have tried group TP but that didn't help. Just waiting until they decide they are to far away and 'port' back to you might do the job but I am not sure how long that will take and never had the patience to wait around for long, especially on mayhem missions when I go in a door and have just generated a longbow ambush.

Sometimes if you wait around they'll stop running in and out of the elevator doors and start following you normally. But the only reliable means I've found of preventing the bug is to summon them fresh after I've entered the mission.

Ok just had a paper mish with a elevator and had the sliding beheavor. What I did to stop it was first to spam my defensive/goto marco in one spot a little ways away from the elevator kinda in the hallway about 10-15 times them the elevator dings they all run out I thought they were doing it agin so I actvated my buff powers then they all went where I told them to

SO I don't know what made them stop, I think it was just spamming GoTo.

I have definately noticed an increase in this recently (not sure if it is since the last patch or not) and it is starting to really annoy me.

Even using summon teammates only makes the bots appear next to me before they run off again, usually through walls or underground!?

Sometimes they would come back, sometimes one or two would come back, sometimes nothing, but I would say this happened on 80% of the lifts/doors. Add to that the fact that having pets stay with you all the time is annoying (Fire/Kins in Ouro) I wish they would just revert back to when pets didn't follow you out of missions.

Failing that give us a 'pets tp here now and reset AI' button. Please

Oh and while you are at it give us a 'stand there and fire and do not move under any circumstances' command too

Urk. I've been dealing with this bug for the last two days. Either my pets don't show up in my pet window when I leave a mission, resulting in my not being able to dismiss the idiots until they get into combat (which snaps them back in - it literally tells me I have no summoned pets. They're like fire imps disguised as mercs ), or they're playing on the blasted elevators for ten minutes.

I tried Assemble the Team as well. That resulted in them running through the walls back to the last floor >_>

I agree, I'd rather have to resummon my pets every mission than have this headache. Twice now I've run gung-ho from an elevator into a spawn, only to discover that not only am I alone (a bad place to be), but even my FFG is playing on the elevators.

It's tedious, but I'm going to try dismissing them all before I leave missions and see if that helps. There used to be a command to dismiss all your pets at once, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was now.

Edit: Found it! /release_pets - just be careful as this kills everything, including stuff like FFG

Second edit: Well, I feel like a dunce now. The proper command - the one exclusively for Masterminds anyway - is a petcom command (Petcom_all dismiss) which is a little embarassing because I've been relying on Sandolphan's petcom binds since they were first written, so I should know this >_>

'/petcom_all release' will kill your Force Field Generator, Triage Beacon, Acid Mortar, and anything else that appears in the pet window.

I'm fairly sure the problem is that when you go through the elevator, the henchmen try to use the elevator to follow you. The only problem is that they automatically teleport to your side once you get beyond 180yds of them. So basically they get caught in a loop of trying to access the elevator while also being teleported every time they move beyond 180yds of you. This is also why the Group Teleport powers do not correct the error since they can be teleported but still be trying to access the elevator.

I remember this was happening a lot last free weekend too. I haven't played my MM this weekend but it doesn't sound like things are any better.

Please, please devs, don't leave bugs like this hanging. It's very frustrating for the players. I know it just affects one AT, but still, one AT is probably like about 10% of the player base. I had a lot of trouble this last free weekend, pets just would not follow. I think the scripting can't handle pets and they're going to need some strong support from engineering. The "reset AI and make pets come here now" button isn't a bad idea. "Reset AI" could mean "defensive follow" which would make them pause for a bit, which I think would prevent abuse.


Also, in a separate issue, my pets die when:

1. I'm super side-kicked up in level, and I level up. This is not cool because it happens in the middle of a fight..

2. I'm super side-kicked down in level, and I zone into or out of a mission. This is not cool because of the time to summon and the Endurance cost to do so.


In both cases, dead pets every time. Not nice for me, and I do like to team (I play a buffing MM who just happens to be able to solo well).

Again, this feels like features half implemented, then left buggy while attention gets focused elsewhere. Ideally, bugs get caught before features are released, but at minimum bugs should be squashed promptly after release, not left around to fester. I really, really hope these bugs will be squished in I17 when the new MM set comes out. Please?

I've been dismissing my pets before leaving missions, and so far I haven't run into the elevator dance since, but I'm going to keep an eye on it a bit longer before I say "This is definitely a workaround"

I'll just leave it at "This is working so far". And for me, that means not charging headlong into a huge pack of Arachnos with my 'boys off goofing off by themselves somewhere else entirely

I haven't run into that one yet due to my sporadic play time resulting in soloing to not inconvenience teams if I suddenly have to run. That's evil
