Thugs or Bots/Dark Mastermind. Crazy easy mode.

Or, if you find Masterminds mind-numbingly painful to play, try a Willpower Brute. I'd recommend Mace, Fire or Electric (in no particular order) for the primary.

Signed on the Brute, may also wanna try a stalker. They solo story arcs so fast. you'll have a TON of merits and stealth anything w/out Rikti.

Brute. Probably fire/wp or ss/wp is one of the better bang for the buck straight out of the box to get 1-50 real fast.

Pretty much tears through content, and /wp is good even on SOs while levelling up.

Or a MM if you just want to afk level to 50

I'd be in the Brute and/or Stalker categories for a soloist.

Stalkers can stealth through missions very quickly (even w Rikti), for rapid
mission completion bonuses (at the penalty of reduced kill bonuses)

Brutes can kill quickly, and generally with enough safety to keep the pace up
for long periods of time.

My issue with Masterminds is that it's quite awhile before they can steamroll
missions quickly. You need to build up that pet army, and once you have,
managing it (buffs, herding them, keeping them out of trouble ) can be
time-consuming... No less fun (for folks who like them), but slower (imho)
than the first two.

Sure brutes are good after about level 21 when you can get quick recovery slotted and actually use your attacks. /dark mastermind is amazing from level 4 and pretty much able to tackle anything after level 6. I used to set my difficulty to highest level after level 6 (old diff settings) and never look back, by then you have heal, two pets, tar patch and darkest night.
The brute would probably be faster leveling in the later levels but the MM is a much smoother ride from level 1.

Well,i settled on a Stalker,of the Electric Melee/Energy Aura variety.

I know i could have taken these power sets with a Brute, but,on a Stalker,i belive ill have a much easier time...i do perfer to clobber entire missions, this is where the 1 short range cone, and 3 AoE attacks are going to come in handy, however,i do get a bit tired of that, and wouldnt mind running to the end and ripping the Big Bad apart and just finishing it,especially if i just didnt like the mission.

Then theres the bonus of not worrying about the Fury Bar,and the stealthing to missions without worrying about outside mobs and lag...which can make a bad mixture and get you killed red side at times because your running along,or super jumping along, and the game lags for like a minute.....yeh...im sure some of you know what im talking about.

Also,Energy Aura seems to have very interesting tools to it,it has a self heal, great for if im mob fighting, energy drain to take down end along side my elec melee drains, and the PvE % for crits does help as well, granted its only 5% for every person in your team, which if im going to be by my self, ill crit like a Scrapper alot of the time, and have a garanteed Crit or Assassin Strike to start off a big mob before i do a attack chain of Lightning Rod + Chain Induction + Thunder Strike. Then the rest of the fight is whatever goes.

Im looking forward to my panic button the most with Energy Aura...that being the Repel AoE that the set has, which i dont think the Brute Version has at all.

I think this Stalker will get me where i wanna be...which is in cahoots with my VEATY VEAT!

Energy Aura? i haven't paid much attention to it for a while, but it finally got buffed? Nice. It used to rank near the bottom for Stalker secondaries.

Edit: Or was that Brutes only?

i make stuff...

I think it was rated 2nd for Brutes and Stalkers...dont quote me on that, and i dont see why it would be that bad of a set to begin with, its very compairable to the other sets that are Def % based anyhow.

The tier 9 on Energy Aura doesnt drop your Hit Points after it wears off, which in my book,is a definate plus, and it boosts your Def % very high,so whats so bad about it?from my point a veiw...nothing...i just think alot of the sets in the game arent as thematic as people would like for there character concepts, but,it looks like a very good set...not like it'll matter when im nuking mobs like a scrapper anyhow.....

Possibly, but L1-L20 is a pretty quick trip with any AT compared to L21-L40,
for instance, so fast levelling early doesn't buy you much.

Secondly, in that "keeping pets out of trouble" category are lumped all the
"fun" little AI bugs in MM pets (like elevators, zoning, stayin where they're
supposed to, etc.). To be sure, ALL of those are manageable (if irritating),
but none of them are conducive to "fast" levelling

I'm not saying MM's aren't powerful (crazy so, in some scenarios), but consistent
and quick? Not quite so much as the other two (imho).

In any case, it looks like the OP made a choice, so GL there, and perhaps
he'll post an update on how it goes in the future.
