Q for you fire/kin BMers...

After 21 months I'm giving in.

So with that established I have a Q for you all.

An ill/rad will slot Soulbound Allegiance proc into PA...might I slot the same proc into Imps without feeling or looking like the total nub I am?

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Doh. I lied. I have a 2nd Q.

Are 4pts of kb protection more than enough for a fire/kin with a specific, single mission in mind?

1. In my opinion: the proc isn't really needed on a fire/kin.

2. Plenty.

Make an electric/shield scrapper or brute and be a lot happier. They farm just about as well and the build you use is good outside or inside the farm.

I don't know why people keep making fire/kins...there's a lot of other things that can farm pretty well besides those. It must be some sort of lemming hold over mentality.

And better than making a farming build, learn the market and make inf while you're playing.

Don't take this as saying that I look down on farming. I have 4 fully IO'ed characters that can farm very well (including a fire/kin), but if influence/infamy is your goal, then you're doing it wrong.

Ty all for helping a nub out.

The reason I went with fire/kin is because it's much, much cheaper to slot one as opposed to a scrapper.

That's debatable really. An ele/shield scrapper could probably farm BM without being IO'd out at all. Heck, a fire/kin pretty much can do that. Mine has common IOs (except the kb proc) and it farms +2/6 at a speedy clip. The real question is which is faster and is that speed worth the extra cost. BM is a pretty darn easy farm map for a fire/kin and the only real danger is the occasional stun, a scrapper doesn't have to worry about that at all, so the right build and powerset combination (IOs or not) with plenty of aoes will make an easy time of BM.

yeah what a.t. to farm with is mostly up to you...i would never farm with a scrapper when i can use my fire/fire tank....its been the biggest farmer since issue 2 and still works to this day

the issue for a shield/elec would be end imo..no end recovery tool sucks.

brutes usually use ss/wp cause its easy mode.is it the best maybe ,maybe not. but its easy cause of qr and wp's regen ability. you just stand there for the first mob ..build up your fury and its off to the races.

scrappers will rely on crits which is fine but l.r. and s.h. arent the greatest recharge.so it might take more money to build better then an easy fire/kin would be.

not to mention having to spend money to soft cap it.i have no doubt they are aoe goodness but he did want a fire/kin

Yeah, I was just pointing out that I'm not so sure that either need to be IO'd out so at that point I think it comes down to "what you want". In the end I'm not sure which would be "better" or how you'd determine that. The addition of physical perfection I'd think will help out in the scrapper/tank world of end recovery.

My only problem with farming with scrappers is that the BM foes like to run away a lot, especially if you hammer them with Lightning Rod/Shield Charge and kill all the minions instantly. The LTs and bosses run all over the place in fear. Its tedious to chase them down. With the fire/kin, they get rooted, so there is no chasing, and the imps clean up for you.

Basically, Fire/Kin is just more relaxing for me.

YMMV.

You know,iv noticed that too...you kill a minion or 2 in a mob,and the entire mob spreads eagle like a easy prom date. Its rather annoying to have to chase them down...when did they impliment this change to mobs?

Anyhow,my way of dealing with that running,is to herd them by running to the next mob, they eventually come back after you,and although its annoying,it doesnt do much in the way of slowing down my Spine/Elc Scrapper.....I sometimes dont apprechiate the argo hold of my Tankers,but,K-Sara-Sara right?

I think the basic function was always there, but they increased it dramatically an issue or three ago. If you can taunt or if you can immob/slow/hold a mob, it's not a huge problem, but I find it a much bigger pain with my scrappers and blasters.

Ty all who shared your opinions in this thread.

I have another Q.

Which difficulty settings have you found offer the best gains/time spent?

Also does having bosses in BM greatly increase the chances of a purple drop?

Would purples still drop if there were no bosses on the map?

Thanks again.

I nub.

I run at +0/x8 with bosses. I think this is the best return for the rewards. You get the level 50 set recipes if they drop which sell better than 49 (if running at -1), lots of guys, purple drops, and the chance for TF/Trial drops due to fighting bosses (only small chance and only from the bosses).

The only increase in purple drops that the bosses provide is that the bosses inherently have a higher % chance to drop a recipe. The chance for a recipe drop has to first succeed and then that is checked if it is a purple.

Yes, purples will still drop without bosses.

I run +2/x8/no bosses on my fire/kin, +2/x8/bosses on my fire/shield/blaze. There's no appreciable drop in speed between those settings and +0/x8, at least for my characters.

I have yet another Q boys & girls.

Is it better, for you, to slot a stun or damage set into Fissure?

Thx again for the help all.

p.s. Purples are not on my radar in the foreseeable future. Even Absolute Amazement(Freedumb) is going for like 50million a piece.

WW is cross server, btw. The only separation is between redside (BM) and blueside (WW).

I would slot for damage but with FS, you'll hit damage cap pretty fast. I've got mine slotted for Recharge/Damage + Procs.

Beside, another ''noob'' question if you will : Is there any way to do a BM farm AFTER you have completed it? I know there's the ''Defeat Battle Maiden + Guards + Destroy the weapons'' one but I also saw a ''Save The Village'' which was pretty similar. The only difference is you get to defuse bombs instead of finding a weapon... Any idea of how to get it?

The "Save the Village" mission is part of the Hero's Hero story arc while the other one is just given as a regular 3-part mission. If you've completed the story arc, you will get the other one if you continue doing missions for Maria.

I seem to have done the entire missions Maria Jenkins could give me as she keeps saying I should speak to someone else(Gaussian from RWZ, in this case) I only have 2 missions active.
