[Isolators] Game on tonite, 01.06.10
I'll be there... not sure what The Golden Howler is at now... hopefully 41, so he isn't too far behind after missing last week. Still need to work on his Tina Mac story arc... hopefully I'll get that done tonight, rather than having to work on those on my own.
Picked up the Martial Arts pack, which is pretty fun. Works quite nicely on a few of my characters, and having a few more robe options is nice... I was overusing a couple of the existing ones on some of my characters.
Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc: Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
The martial arts pack makes all the characters look like they have back problems.

Rock, rock on Hamster.
I'll be on tonight for a short while. I'm probably around 36ish after missing two weeks. I just hate Electric Armor so much I can barely get motivated to play him.
Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

What primary are you using? So far, only lightning rod is keeping my push to 50. Elec attacks = good. Elec armor = meh. Though I've found him more fun/survivable on teams, regardless of support. The faster stuff dies, the less chance of the mobs having their way with me

I've already forgotten about most of you

Have two elec armor brutes; and I don't know why. A level 50 ss/elec that I've always hated a bit and a level 40ish elec/elec.

My only lvl 50 Brute is Elec/Elec, but he was an Isos baby, so it's not really an accomplishment.

Heh someone PM'd me this.

#1 Why did I roll him?
#2 What were they drinking when they threw that set together?

I'm using DM as my primary. If every bad guy had energy attacks there wouldn't be a problem, but since most don't and it's a pain (if at all possible) to use bonuses to cap the other resistances that whole set = suck IMO. Everytime I log him in I shake my head and ask myself:

I only rolled it after they did the changes for conserve power and the self heal....was hoping it would fill in the holes. I find it interesting, and assuming you're using Siphon Life, that with an additional heal it's still not better.
Would eagerly switch him to Shield if I could

I've already forgotten about most of you

I'm waiting on making my Elec/Elec Brute until Going Rogue hits, as I want to run him heroside. My Stalker and VEAT that I'm leveling up redside are about as much as I want to have on redside at this point.
Given my extensive experience with Fiery Aura on Tanks, I don't think I'm going to have too many issues with Electric Armor, especially after the added the Heal. Between the heal and picking up the fighting pool, Grey Pilgrim was just fine before IOs. Afterwards, he's even better with all the +defense, +recharge, and +HP he picked up. I'm going to go the same route for my Brute, I believe.
I am rather surprised Dark Melee isn't a good pairing with Electric Armor. You have an extra heal with that, plus the negative to-hit. WP is easy street on my Scrapper with Dark Melee... I can dial the difficulty up pretty far with him, even in the 20s.
No matter what, Enigma, you should come. It's more about having fun than anything... I'm not enthralled with my Defender's capabilities, either (he seems quite helpful to the team, but I like to feel like I can do a fair amount myself as well).

Know your role, buff-bot! Just keep the bubbles coming and maybe you can stay on the team!

See you tonight, MG... try not to crack the whip on us Defenders too much. Heh.

Well tonight ran pretty good, we had a good mix of ATs and just powered through most of the carnies. We were moving so fast I got into a "scrapper lock" a bit... Sorry Witch
I think we made it through most of that arc, almost all defeat all carnies in building missions. We had a few deaths toward the end, mostly over-confidence stuff with people going after multiple spawns etc... always seems to happen. I ended up a dot or so from 43.

Last night was pretty good on Team Hamster, too... except for that one lab room where we ran into about 3-4 mobs of Rikti at once. That wasn't so fun. Left me wishing Liquefy would recharge sooner, as I started getting pegged a lot more when it dropped.

You lie! That rocked. That battle was epic! Me vs the oncoming hordes of rikti! Hapless buffbots and controllers falling dead at my feet as a fought on and on and on. Purple Rikti to the front. Purple Rikti to the back. Purple Rikti to the left. Purple Rikti to the right. All dieing under my thorny goodness!
I do believe I was the only one not to faceplant all night. Thats probably more to do with my defense being in the high 50s all night though.
<sigh> Viv says its no longer "all me".

I tend to always pull large groups in that room (and similar ones) to just outside the door. It's easier to group them all up and lay debuffs down as well as getting out of LoS. I stood back for a second and thought to myself "Are they really just going to charge into that room?"

+3s, ha! We have bonfire!

I don't know what was up last night... the RNG hated me or something. I'd be over the def cap, and I was still getting tagged a lot, more than I could handle, even with my shields and using inspirations. Sleep is the one mez that can get my guy, too, and the Rikti kept nailing him with it too. Bloody annoying.
But yes, charging in is pretty much the Isos MO, isn't it? Especially with Ham?

#2) It was really designed for brutes (who use tanker resistance caps), its the same reason that fire tanks can be decent but fire scrappers are very squishy.
Target level looks 43ish.
Team Hamster did various 40-45 nemesis, crey, and rikti missions, working on phone call levels for those contacts. Got arcs started for the crey and rikti, will continue on them next week.
Was pretty defender heavy for most of the evening until we merged with the other team.

For those unfamiliar with the group, Isolators was started shortly after badges were introduced to the game. This was in the dark, dreary times before global chat, global tells, or even coalition chat. Back then, the only way to find a person from the forums was by chance or pre-arranged meeting.
The Isolators project was started so the people who post here in Victory could actually meet and play together, so that you could have some fun with the people you chat with online. Everyone made a new character for this new group. This is an once a week supergroup that plays every 8 pm Wednesdays.
When the vast majority of the group hits 50, we start a new run of the group, switching between CoH and CoV between runs.
You don't have to be an active forum poster to join, through it's encouraged. At the very least, be a member of the community; run missions, join in advertised task forces, etc.
If you're interested in joining up this run, please feel free to post interest here. Everyone is welcome.
A few notes:
Everyone is welcome.
Not everyone is welcome.
This is an once a week sg. If the group ends up at level 20 at the end of the night, please don't show up next week at level 25.
If you're a few levels behind due to playing less, don't sweat it, but try to catch up on your own or with a task force if you can.
We play 8 pm eastern on Wednesdays.
