Can't decide on a PvP toon

Hey everyone, have moved from the EU servers over to the US servers and I am currently playing Freedom. I am interested in starting a new PvP toon- either a corruptor or a MM. I want the toon mainly for arena (since I will be playing a Widow in zones once this toon reaches 50). Also, suggestions of power combos I have not listed are welcome.

The combos I have in mind are as follows;

Sonic/Cold
Sonic/Pain
Rad/Cold
Rad/Pain

or

Bots/Storm
Bots/Pain
Thugs/Storm
Thugs/Pain

Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.

rad pain is ftw for a corr, thugs pain for mm.

Forts arent bad if built right. Shatter armor ftw

Forts can be pretty darn nice still, you just have to invest a crap load into them... With a cold on the team buffing they are even better.

forts are bad in duels though.
they're only good for keeping stalkers out of hide.

I've been playing my fort lately (NW actually, since Forts have zero advantage over NW's now), and it can be fun. But it's a pretty big challenge. Expect to get hit with like 80% of attacks thrown at you.

Shatter armor (epic pool attack) is the only reason to play one these days. It's the second strongest attack in the game next to AS, it seems. Plus it does -20% res, which is pretty huge. Make sure you get it, team up, and just spam that and webs.

Thanks all for the input! I am interested in trying out a Bot/Pain, which may not be the 'best', but i feel I will enjoy playing it. This is the build I have mustered up, but i'm generally no good with making builds, so expect mistakes.

I've slotted for ranged def in quite a few places, and went with Mace for the web. All advice is welcome. Thanks

Edited it somewhat to increase HP, add more KB protection, swapped eforced morale for vengence (and put a lotg +rech in there, which could be swapped for a kb prot if 34.5 is not enough) and changed the chance for damage in assault bot to a chance for +recharge (mainly to see the response i get for doing this, can't decide between these two procs)

There was a pretty good Widow last night in KB. Kept pulling me out of Hide in between spikes. Had to keep placating him, but he eventually would find and pull me out of Hide again. Not sure you'd get many kills as it seemed its sole purpose was to zero in on Stalkers. But, most of the time the opposing team would ignore Widows so in that sense its safe.

yup, st____a (sp?) does pretty damn well... but that's basically because the player behind that toon does not have the usual bloodlust present in forts that weren't around during i12 (when forts were seen, in certain lineups, as support and disruption and not really damage).

Steatoda. Very solid toon and player. They were in rv yesterday when forst elf d was crying about how bad veats were. They were taken out people while outnumbered and decent players at that. A well built veat can be a beast.

The recharge proc doesn't do anything in MM pets anymore.
