Freedom PvP League (No, really. Lets do this)
Wow, really? Ty for being kind enough to offer the right to do the grunt work though, much appreciated. Either way I don't have time to commit to it so its up to Peril if he wants to take on being the official promotion poster-boy or not. "If" he does I will make the time to handle getting prizes once the details are sorted out.

Truthfully, once free server transfers close down, there'll not be much point in promoting it on other servers. If this is a sincere goal of the Freedom community, I suggest getting your own designated go-between and work with the community moderators with them to secure prizes or whatnot. No sense in using a middle man.
I wish you the best of luck with a new ladder.

I still say for 6v6 and higher lineups, a "No more than 2 of the same ATs" in the lineup type of rule or clause would be beneficial. At least then, it gives a chance for that excitement and unknown factor in the sense that it gives everyone at least a chance at winning without having to face a FOTM type of lineup. For anything lower than 6v6, a "No Same AT" type of rule would be nice.
Just saying. Just an idea. >.>
yeah. teams to counter stalkers.
2-3 blasters 2-3 disruption (veats inc) 2 healers 1 stalker small variations of this. i think if we keep it 8v8s, there will be enough variation on the disruption spots to keep things interesting. |
2 Emps/Pains
1 Therm
3 damage (Blaster/Dom)
1 Cold
1 TA
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
I dunno if I'd really consider VEATs to be disruption when the other team only brings one Stalker - between the AS damage scale nerf and DR a single AS isn't going to be as big an issue as it would've been pre-I13, even if the crit portion is unresisted. I think you might see a lineup like this:
2 Emps/Pains 1 Therm 3 damage (Blaster/Dom) 1 Cold 1 TA |
are there actually enough pvpers to have more than 2-3 teams?
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
No but a TA can keep the better part of a team grounded the entire match, plus Glue Arrow patches and Acid Arrow to keep Stalkers out of hide (long DoT is win). As far as Colds, hitting a healer with Heat Loss and Benumb isn't something to be shrugged off and even though slows got wrecked in I13 something like an Ice/Cold Controller can still get appreciable movement slows going. Plus there's Frostworks which might be useful if there's an MM on the team for targeting disruption (Therm, Poison, whatever). I can see the case for an FFer but most of the other support sets don't have the same role they did in pre-I13 team matches - Defender Rad debuffs aren't unresisted and detoggle on mez, Sonic is worthless, FF is only good on Trollers due to the cage change, Dark isn't useful in large team matches, Kins are useless unless you develop a lineup specifically focused on end drain as a disruption method, and so on. I could see the TA's spot being filled by a Grav/FF or something, for Force Bolt, Force Bubble, and the two cages though.

HERP DERP I USE THE :< FACE
vert you need to go to orlando and go to IHOP with me and kyle
I heard fake Divine is quiting *dance*
Thank god Controllers don't have access to webnades from a epic. Mage's cold would be so OP. On a serious note...i wonder how they are going to fix slows, it's obvious ice/cold controllers slows are working well....but you have to stack a ton of slows to get there. If they fix slows across the board...they will end up buffing mages's cold as well.....and lord knows he does not need a buff.....

proc all the attacks with the chance for -recharge (double proc -rcgh onto bitter ice blast from the -tohit set), get webnades and.. yeah... could be workable.
I've got an Ice/Cold Corr but there's no way I'm going to spend the money to IO it when the same investment in a different character would give much better results.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
The only reason I would ideally like to keep it at 8v8 is so there is actually a place for debuff and interruption classes and not just damage and healing.
Used 2 Be Good - PvP Geriatric Style
Disgrace and Glory
The Virtuous Vanguard
1. Currently, only stalkers have unresisted damage (is this correct?). Is there a reason to run anything other than a team of stalkers?
2. With the settings DR on, TS off, HD off - What Dynamic lineups do you foresee? I'm Currently seeing pure damage + emp/pain, but my knowledge of the new PvP lineups and whats viable is limited.
3. Are we going to have the same thing as the last i13 PvP league - where there is only 1 viable lineup and if you don't run that you lose?
*Edit after reading some of the other posts - it might help next time*
Would it be a benefit if we pick 2 captains and run some practice matches where we test out some of these lineups. It would be similar to kickball, 'cept you would log whatever you had and the captain could pick what they wanted you to play.
