Marketing hates us!
I'm just about ready to call NCSoft and complain that the marketing department for City Of Heroes/Villains sucks...

Just a note: no point complaining about Paragon Studios marketing of CoX: I don't think PS has a marketing department specifically. I believe all marketing for CoX comes from NCSoft's North American office. Good luck.

Cool, now I know where to send my hate mail! At this point I think it would be worth more than the cost of a stamp to tell them they suck.

There seem to be two distinct gripes with the marketing wing of this game that we all play and love;
1) Insufficient information releases regarding Going Rogue features / progress.
2) Inadequate or misdirected external marketing of the CoH product.
I've seen many complaints, have we got any suggestions that directly address either of these points? Aside from the rather simplistic, "Tell us Nao!" that we all feel, I've heard little in the way of constructive feedback.
Here are my two suggestions to address the issues above;
1) Regular scheduled info releases about Going Rogue. Announce that a one per week, or one per fortnight post will be made on the forums and an email sent to those who have opted in to recieve them with progress reports / teaser info. Link to this info through the game updater.
2) More advertising geared towards the mainstream market. Media could include cinema advertising before superhero movies, television ads (expensive, but it's all risk vs reward right?), or more advertising in the comic market, print ads in comic books, posters in comic stores / game stores.
What other suggestions do people have?

A Spanner In The Works Part One, ArcID: 336662, A Spanner In The Works Part Two, ArcID: 336665, Enter Japes, ArcID: 96001
In The Darkness Creeping, ArcID: 347709, When Dimensions Collide, ArcID: 412416.
If I do call them, I do plan to keep it nice. Being mean and nasty will only have negative reprecussions on me.

Not that I'd say no to giving some kind of GR info. We "vets" all want to salivate over it, and the new guys need to learn about it, so that they can drool with us!
Lack of advertising for the game means less new subscriptions, meaning less life for the game. It's been mentioned many times, in many threads, different ways that they need to start advertising this game. Magazine ads, television ads, movie theater ads, comic book ads, web ads, in-store ads, billboard ads, ads, ads, ads, ads, ads! Ads! Heck, I'm pretty sure that it Samuraiko has even mentioned that she's more than willing to do some REAL ads for the game, if they'd let her. (Either that, or my CRS kicked in, and I only think she said that... )
It's a shame how many people don't know about this game. They're missing out on a damned good game that has the advantages of a damned good Dev Team, a damned good Community Relations (via the Forums) Team, AND a damned good forums community.

Personally, I don't give a rat's rear end about GR infos. I care about marketing the GAME itself. To me, the lack of GR info tells me that they're working as hard as they can to make it as good as they can. I still have faith in them thar Devs!

However, if I don't see that sort of marketing strategy synchronized with GR, then I got nothing except that they are asleep at the wheel.

While I like the constructive direction that the threadjack has taken us in, I must inform you all of some very sad news.
Marketing kicked my puppies, smashed my birthday cake yesterday and even went so far as to return all my fancy gifts to Wal*Mart and kept the gift cards for their office party supplies...
Why Marketing...WHY!!??
*cries inconsolably*
There's some information about Going Rogue news and an update of the personnel at Paragon Studios announced here. Looks like we'll be getting more GR info in the next few weeks and that regular info updates are a top priority for the team.
Essentially, we've been heard! Now, we wait, again. But not for too long!

Sometimes I imagine that NCSoft pays the Paragon Studios marketing department in lemons
and that their orders from Corporate simply read: "Shut those bloody devs up!"
RMT spammers advertise better than Paragon Studios' marketing department
SAD
