Praetorians

Statesman and the rest of the signature heroes have Praetorian counterparts...what about Lord Recluse and the signature villains? Do they have Praetorian counterparts? If so, is there any info out there about them?

On the Praetoria Wiki Page, it looks like Lord Recluse is an official NPC so that would lead me to believe he is himself and has no counterpart.

I really need to learn to look this kind of stuff up on Paragonwiki before I post.

Well evidently people look stuff up whenever there's a question, as I just did, so if ppl are gonna look up the answer regardless what harm does it do to ask?

Praetorian Stefan Richter (Lord Recluse) was killed by Praetorian Marcus Cole (Statesman/Tyrant) at the Well of the Furies. So Stefan never became Lord Recluse, he is dead.

are you speaking of the praetorians that are already in game or the praetorians from GR?

/rant
what i dont get is why in the world doesnt hero 1 have a praetorian counterpart ingame already. i hadnt heard anything of him being a preatorian in GR either... this makes me sad. one of the more important characters in the game lore and he has no dimensional counterpart, yeah true there is the honoree but he only shows up in the LGTF.
there hasnt been any speak of rikti in praetoria so it would be safe to assume that team omega wasnt formed so he SHOULD be alive there.
/endrant

should i ask this very same question in the official lore thread?

At the Going Rogue panels at HeroCon, the Devs confirmed that not everyone has a Praetorian counterpart active as a hero or villain. The Praetorian Marcus Cole killed Stefan Richter shortly after they gained their powers at the Well of the Furies. On Praetoria, Lord Nemesis likely lived and died happily as a simple clockmaker. The circumstances that led to the creation of Lord Nemesis simply did not happen on Preatorian Earth. Hamidon and the Devouring Earth are much more powerful on Praetoria, accelerating their plans after Truman used a nuke in the Korean War. It was in response to the Devouring Earth threat that Marcus Cole seized power and carved out a utopia amongst a world thrown into chaos by the Devouring Earth.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

There's still a small glimmer of hope. After all, we know at least two people that didn't feel like calling it quits even after a little thing like death tried to interfere.

Honoree is Hero 1 after their suicidal trip through a Rikti portal, where he was ...changed... through a similar process (the same process?) that The Lost go through. Read up on the Hero 1 memorial, the cape mission, the Time Capsule, etc. (Text deliberately obfuscated.)

I'm still not convinced Atlas is dead. I keep expecting him to make an appearance at some point.

There was no Rikti invasion of Preatoria. Thus, Hero 1 and Lady Grey should still be in England, defending her from the Devouring Earth.

Part of the utopian propaganda is that, since Praetoria and the surrounding area are relatively secure due to the efforts of Emperor Cole and his Praetorians, the new and upcoming supers in the city who don't receive posts are sent out to other parts of the world to aid their efforts at repelling the Devouring Earth.

This may simply be a convenient excuse for what happens to supers who wash out of the training program or who prove to have "questionable loyalties," but there may actually be some outreach. I wouldn't expect to see Hero-1 and Lady Grey in Praetoria, but we may hear about them.

lol, yes agg... i know all that. it doesnt change the fact that his new self was created in another dimension and only shows up in the LGTF. as lightfoot said he should be alive in praetoria and i really hope they use him somehow. if i cant have his cape and helm at least they could let me drool at it as often as possible and in as many different places.

Inokis, those are only comic book deaths lol if someone has a reason to be in a story they will never die and are subject to ressurection for story purposes at any given point.

Both. Is there a difference?

in my opinion the two are not exactly the same so far from what ive read. the differences i see are all just cosmetic and slight story points currently but it could be possible that the cosmetic upgrades and the current stories could be retconned when GR comes out.

From the Paragonwiki page, in case people are too lazy to follow the provided links (not a direct copy-paste, though):
  • Praetorian Lord Recluse: Dead
  • Praetorian Ghost Widow: Alive (not a ghost), part of the Resistance
  • Praetorian Calvin Scott (Aurora Borealis' husband): Head of the Resistance
  • Praetorian Aurora Borealis: Posessed by Mother Mayhem (Praetorian Sister Psyche)
  • Praetorian Nemesis: Died of old age in Prussia, decades ago, a happy old man
  • Praetorian Hamidon: Unknown status. Released the Devouring Earth much earlier in Praetoria than in Primal Earth, and as such the DE have a much larger foothold in that dimension (this is also the reason why Cole is emperor)
  • Praetorian Invisible Falcon (aka Ghost Falcon): Living in our version of Peregrine Island
  • Praetorian Carnival of Shadows: Heroes known as the Carnival of Light

They are, though. Devs even said that they'd update and retcon the old content where necessary.

A Praetorian Clockwork King has also been hinted at.

Oy, I hope this doesn't mean a lot of the Praetorian content has Devouring Earth in it. I personally despise the DE and avoid fighting them whenever possible. GR is going to be very not fun for me if I have to fight them a lot.

Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc:
Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.

My guess would be that DE content in Praetoria (if any) will at least have new DE enemies, considering the DE have been active for much longer in that dimension (more evolution?), and the current DE are pretty much restricted to lv25-27, 35-43, and in the Hive, 48+

My impression was that the average Praetorian citizen hasn't seen a Devouring Earth outside of a propaganda reel for years. While the Devouring Earth may be the big threat for the world, it is a threat that Emperor Cole and his Praetorians are handling. The fact that Praetoria is probably virtually free of the Devouring Earth is part of the reason the citizens have accepted the loss of freedoms that come with that security.

It looks like the great majority of the conflict in the Going Rogue content will be the interplay between the Loyalists, the Resistance and the Syndicate.
