A question about Scrappers

I LOVE Scrappers. Favorite class and always have been. When PVP first vame into being, I took my Scrapper into a Warzone. . . and my jaw dropped at how fast he dropped. Are Scrappers even viable in PVP anymore? If so what are the good power combinations?

Your question has a fatal flaw, the anymore part.

Scrappers have never really been any good at PvP, except for a very few builds.

Range >> Melee

Useful combinations are basically spines (for range) and broadsword (for huge burst damage) with your secondary of choice.
/regen is still a solid PVP secondary but others are being used more and more.

Ok so what are the good builds for PVP? I really feel taht I have done everyting else in this game except for PV and its the only area that really holds any mystery for me. Since day one I haven't been able to wrap my head around CoX PVP even through Im pretty good at it in other games.

Rolling a scrapper automatically puts you in the bottom of whos who in the pvp world lol.

If you promise not to spam fire at me, I won't spam webs at you. Deal?

Your problem is probably not your build it's probably your PvE playstyle. In PvE you simply run in and attack till the mob or you face plant. But you know what? i play PvE the same way as i PvP so i never die in PvE because If im about to die i run away. wouldn't you do this in RL if someone shoots a shot gun in a bank? do you attack the robber with "Crippling axe kick?" hellzz no. you freakin' run dude and be out the door or get behind a counter before he can pump the next shell into the chamber.

So if i were you i'd only attack those attacking other players. If they attack you run, phase and run, webnade them and run, taunt them and run, if they talk smack run even further.

loz

But, seriously, Scrappers aside. What are the good builds for PVP: which ATs and powersets are having a successful time? Are Blasters still good? Last I saw they got nerfed into the ground for PVP.

well, admitedly, I wasn't impressed by the changes made in I13 so I didn't engage in alot of PVP, but I did see that the damage outout for Blasters was severly diminished. It may be different now. Im returning after about a year offline. Thats really why Im asking these questions. I really want to build something that will work in PVP.

Blaster damage was nerfed, but so was almost everything else in the game. Blasters are currently pretty much the undisputed #1 PvP AT.

I dunno, I find that scrappers do pretty well against quite a few other ATs. Ya know... regen scraps. Other than that, blasters ftw.

IF you have a scrap worth a damn, maul away at targets mano a mano and try not to get interference. You'll do fairly well against the "average" player, but don't be surprised when you start getting frustrated against ranged targets, or multiple enemies attacking you at once. Then it becomes a game on how well your phase will work and how close the base is.

My Claws/Regen is okay against other melee, especially if they hold still long enough to get a few attacks off in a row.

Not much good against a ranged target, but I get a kill now and then.

Okay is about the best it gets though.

From what I understand, Fire/Regen seems to be one of the better PvP scrappers, but I haven't run one or fought one, so it's just hearsay.

Claws is just about as bad as it gets for scrappers. I have one too. No buildup, and the weakest attacks of any scrapper set. It really makes no sense why it was nerfed so hard in comparison with every other set.
