Ah brazil is obviously the best team in the world granted, but serbia quality? I dont think so

I dont know about scotland and wales though, both of their futures lately have looked bright in the football world. Both nations seem to finally be having young stars coming through [was shocked at scotlands display though!].

Either way though, a victory is a victory Still hoping for the day we see all of the UKs nations in the world cup The atmosphere in this country would be unbelievable! Wouldnt be safe to go outside!

LOL, Lame, Damz, very lame

The England match was interesting from the perspective we had 2 of our regular team playing and we played against the best team in the world, with the likes of Kaka in it

You played Scotland......nuff said

That makes our victory even more impressive! Lowest ranked side yet we still won

Dont get me started on the rugby sides of things though . . . . .

If England don't pull their finger out, next week is going to be simple humiliation against the All-Blacks.

Wales should defeat Argentina nicely.

Since the world cup, England havent really done that much have they though. They had a dismall last few years really when you consider what they achieved. I still get goose bumps over Wales' response to the haka earlier this year, the atmosphere in the stadium was intense!

And Ireland (the Rugby team, not the silly soccer team) fluked a draw with the Aussies. Under Irish Sporting rules I think that counts as a victory.

Hurrah for last gasp kicks (you remember them, right Damz?)

I still remember Brian McKechnie's last gasp kick.

I especially remember Max Boyce's routine about it.

And now our national team manager is about to get the sack......i blame you Damz for posting this thread

Don't blame him, just take solace in the fact that the 76th team beat you........... what, Wales don't win often enough that I cant take every chance to gloat

per the Scottish FA, Burley is gone.

Better luck with the next one.

I dont know who is in the running, but Keegan is available and would be a fine choice if you ask me.

Lookin at the Scottish press it looks like Walter Smith from Rangers or the Dundee utd manager Craig Levein are in the running.............gawd help us all!

*edit- Keegan is an englishman, so he'd never want the job but also the tartan army would be up in arms

I remember the uproar the first time we had a non-Englshman as the England manager.

I totally understand, and think that the SFA would much rather go overseas than grab a sassenach.

But I would say look at what Jack did for the Republic side. A manager with an attacking style is just what Scotland needs right now IMHO.

Or just a manager with style

Well lets be honest here, scotland have a decent base to build up on but they do need quite a lot of fresh blood in the squad to if anything, just to bring some hope to the scottish nation. Also agree that they need a manager not afraid to go out and attack.

Its the internationals for petes sake! Only the italians can play a defensive game at this level with any form of success!

Like how far the irish have come though these last few years, seem to be finally coming into their own and getting some good players into their ranks.

Wales, as much as i love watching our games, is clear that this is a squad that we wont see the benefit of until at least the next world cup.

England? Too much expectation on their shoulders and too many "my club is more important/i injured myself on a cheap flight" players in that squad to win the competition [rooney aside, most of the squad just dont show the passion!]

This thread has reminded me of the old Home Internationals, which were eventually terminated because England and Scotland thought that playing Wales and Northern Ireland every year just wasn't worth their time.

As I recall, in that last Championship year Wales and Northern Ireland finished joint winners.

Northern Ireland won it, wales were second

Absolutely correct, sir - a whole load of goal differences that laast year.

Still... you have to laugh. The "Big Two" killed the competition off because they were, apparently, too good to play the Welsh and Irish every year.

Happier news for the Scots, great rugby result against Australia today.

Wales win big, Ireland win big, England lose but thankfully not as badly as I expected them to.

One more round of Autumn internationals next week.

[Didnt want to post a new thread about this]

Wales sucked at this years six nations . . . . . . . if only we could play for 80 minutes instead of the last 10!
