No Numinae anywhere :(
You can buy them directly with merits but that's not really practical (they range from 125 to 250 each depending on the recipe). You can also get them with random rolls of either tickets or merits but honestly rolling for a specific recipe is low odds. Silver rolls can give you the Heal/End, End/Rech and Heal, Gold rolls and Merit rolls can give you the other three.
Are you buying them at a weird level? If you're buying at level 50 I'd say put some bids up at WW for a few days and see what happens. Even if there isn't currently any stock most reasonable bids for level 50 recipes will get filled in 24-48 hours (or the next weekend at the latest).
You know when you call Customer Service and they ask you all the basic questions like "Is your computer plugged in?"
My version of that would be "Have you tried leaving a bid up for a day or two on three different levels?"
It is possible that there's legitimately nothing out there in the level range you want. . . it's also possible that ur doin it wrong, or whatever the kids say today.
What level, what side, are you looking for?
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

Ok,
My current build needs 12 numina recipes, i dont need the crazy expensive regen+recovery one,(though it would be nice) but i need to get them. My biggest problem isnt cost but scarcity. Is there anywhere to get them other than drops and wentworths? |
Buy them with merits
If they are pool C, roll in the appropriate ranges and hope you get the ones you want.
If they aren't pool C, get some tickets and roll in the appropriate ranges.
It would be nice if there was something better but unfortunately that is the range of your choices outside of the market or drops.
Your best is to place bids on the market above the last 5 and wait and hope. If you have a means of transferring inf, you might want to use a second character to make the bids and let them sit and wait on them.
I'm getting them for the set bonuses, they're going in unimportant powers, so I'll take em at any Level. I'm on freedom and wentworths is just empty, and has been for a few days now. It sucks, but I kind of expected it, i'm just looking for a workaround.

Also out of curiosity what build are you doing? The options I can see are a melee toon that is taking health and 3 medicine powers and triple slotting for the health and regen bonuses or an empath/pain dominator that took 3 health/medicine powers and is four slotting for the improved heal. I would say you're trying to softcap but you said you don't need the proc so that rules out 6 slotting two powers.
I sold the 2 Numina that dropped for me in the last 2 days.
They were both at level 50 and I crafted them for extra profit.

I've got 2 different frankenslot tanks im working on, so really i need 24 recipes, but 1 toon at a time, lol. I've got a SS/WPR that will max out at 101hp/sec regen passive, and an Ice/Stone that'll end up somewhere around half that, but'll have the defense and mitigation of ice. I'm curious as to which one will work out to be more survivable, expensive as hell but fun.
Numina's has high transaction volume, at least at level 50, so I don't see why you say scarcity is a problem. Leave some bids overnight and see. There's also AE tickets (the Heal and Heal/End are from bronze rolls I think, the Heal/Rech and triple are from gold rolls) and Merits.
There are none because the Halloween event royally screwed the drop rates. If you're not as opposed to AE as I am you can get some of them eventually by ticket rolling.
Otherwise follow the advice about leaving the bids up for days, but be prepared to pay the exhorbitant rates that a trickling supply brings to a constant demand.

EDIT2: Removed probability comments since I think they are wrong
My source is the dramatic dropoff of recipes I've been getting, the state of the market and general chat channel griping about how drops have decreased and drops of anything useful have slowed to a trickle.
I started a thread on this in the bug section where i spell out what evidence i have. Other than the general availability of recipes which could, I suppose, be explained by increased demand from ToT pl'ing, (though one would imagine so many people ToT'ing with level 50's would have had a concomitant increase in supply since these folks would be getting level 50 recipes while they pl'd) my evidence is admittedly anecdotal and based on a small sample. If only I had foreseen this problem and ran hero stats for the couple of weeks following the drop bug fix I could produce some hard evidence. But basically I've been running 8 spawned radios with bosses for weeks (hours a day)- and I find my trips to clear inventory are fewer and farther between since the patch that increased Apocalypse frequency. Further, I've had very few decent drops. No purples when I was getting one per day and only the occasional recipe worth more than a million inf.

at X8+0
15 Recipe drops
13 Commons
2 Stupefy ACC/Rech (hey random is random)
2 Rare salvage
1 Photonic weapon
1 Rikti Alloy.
Seems normal.
If that's normal I'm glad I don't farm
There's been some supply related crash on "recipes worth more than a million inf"- Crushing Impacts dropped from the million-inf mark to, last I saw, 50K each. I don't know if drop rates changed or not.
To the OP: I use this page a whole lot.
Numina's has two rare drop-from-badguy IO's (should be MORE common during trick-or-treating), one drop-from-mission (probably less common lately) and three roll-from-merits IO's.
The end/heal, almost every level from 43-50, has sold 2 or more in the last week.
End/rech (the drop-from-mission) has dozens available for sale at each level.
Heal, one or more at each level from 43 up.
50's and 49's are selling much much faster than the other levels I checked.
To my surprise the end/heal/rech and heal/rech were also selling at a couple per level in the last week.
Are you sure you're talking blueside?
EDITED: Verene- if that's not farming what is it?

I've got my end/rech, those are dime a dozen.
The rest are the ones buggin me. Maybe im just bidding at bad times.
Here's your Numinae right here, at 1:04.

Crushing impact seems to be one of a handful of recipes that drop way too much lately when one actually does get an i/o, along with, e.g doctored wounds, t-strike, and efficacy adaptor. Those used to be nice drops but as you point out, they've tanked.
Part of this may be their commonality from bronze ticket rolls, something I've unfortunately been reduced to lately simply because I've been getting absolutely nothing from regular content.

The Mentor Project
What's your source for this? I'm not aware there was any change in droprates caused by the event. The TF bug, however, probably did cause a hit in the number of recipes produced at level 50 and I've noticed a strong surge in demand lately, probably from level 50 characters produced by ToT powerlevelling.

Over the last couple of days I bought two Numina: Heals at level 49 for 1/3 the price of the L50 version
Blue
American Steele: 50 BS/Inv
Nightfall: 50 DDD
Sable Slayer: 50 DM/Rgn
Fortune's Shadow: 50 Dark/Psi
WinterStrike: 47 Ice/Dev
Quantum Well: 43 Inv/EM
Twilit Destiny: 43 MA/DA
Red
Shadowslip: 50 DDC
Final Rest: 50 MA/Rgn
Abyssal Frost: 50 Ice/Dark
Golden Ember: 50 SM/FA
All the advice here has been really good but I think 1 thing has been missed...
Look at the number of people bidding....
If there is no supply (IO u want basically) and there are 100 bids for example... when one does become available unless your the highest bidder you are not going to get it.
Bid high, and leave it a day... You will get the first one that comes available.
Maybe the reason you haven't got one as yet and everytime that you check it, is because there is a high demand and others are getting the ones that crop up due to their bids.
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

(Now, after you've wiped whatever fluid you shot out of your nose upon reading this I will explain, lol)
I came to CoX after years playing a different MMO, one in which the auction house worked a little different. In that game there was more play in the bidding, if an item was selling for 5k you could bid less on it than that and still maybe get one. The sale went to the bidder who bid closest without going under to price the seller posted. in CoX terms, if I bid 1mil for a Numinas, I'm not likely to get it because most are selling for 50mil, but if someone who just didnt want to or couldnt pay the fee to post the item at 50mil and only posted it for 500k I'd get it with my 1 mill bid because i was closest to that 1 sale price. now, to change bidding strategies, sorry to have wasted the threads time, lol
