New booster

Part of me wants to say we already have too many martial arts costumes, but those parts will go well with other getups.

And those animations are awesome. Very Matrix-y for "bring it" and the pushups are just funny. Ninja Run will be nice, too... have to see if I can get out of travel power picks whenever I get this. Question is when. I'm going to pick up the Architect Edition to get my CDs up to date, and you get a booster pick with it (which I assume Martial Arts will be a part of). So now I have to decide if I want the Cyborg or Martial Arts one more.

Wonder what the heck they're going to do for the mutant one. That one seems difficult.

Voo... you remembered!

I have several toons that can make good use of these pieces, and Ninja Run sounds freakin' awesome, but I haven't seen it yet.

And this is available today?!

GP, for the Mutant pack it sounds like Sexy Jay is going to try to catch up with the numerous animal-based heads in CO.

I'll definitely be getting this tomorrow. My Stalker would love the armpads and new travel power.

Ah... sounds like I won't want the mutant pack, then (which is probably good... I now have 3 packs I would like to get). Don't really have an animal bent with any of my character ideas.

If you want to see picks and vids, go to my link in my other post. That's the NCSoft page, and they have quick vids of the emotes, costume changes, and Ninja run. And I do believe it is available today.

Wonder what the numbers are on Ninja run... and if it's mutually exclusive to sprint and/or combat jumping (and other travel sets).

*added*

Anyone know if you'll be able to pick the Martial Arts pack with the Architect Edition? The store just says Cyborg and Magic right now, which makes me wonder if it won't include the newer ones like Science and Martial Arts.

I thought the Architect Ed. just included a coupon for a free Booster pack and you could pick whichever one you wanted.

It IS awesome. And it stacks with Sprint, Swift, and Quickness from SR.

Yup. As you can see, I bought it. SO I KNOW KUNG FU!

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

It does de-toggle other travel powers, including CJ. And, as could be predicted, currently bugged for PvP.

Yeah, it has SJ values for PvP, if I read it right. So funny.

But at least Sprint stacks with it. Should be nice for my SR Scrapper, who is a Samurai of sorts. Linky for those who want it. Not sure how much or little I'll be using it, but it is fun.

I just checked the videos and all of those animations are SOLID GOLD. My money was already spent, of course, but I'm loving this booster.

I just wish Ninja Run was a full travel power instead of an enhancement power.

What a fanboi. Buying sight unseen, you crazy?

I do agree about the animations, though. Heh. I'm not sure why Combat Jumping has to suppress with it, though, if activating attacks turns off the Ninja run. I'll have to see if it works as well as just having sprint, combat jumping and the Fitness Jump power going.

It gets worse... I need to get some Cryptic Bucks to buy all the costume options they have in that other game. If you think Paragon Studios is bad about nickel and diming us, Cryptic has raised it to an art form.

Pretty nice overall.

And my widow without any travel powers now moves at 71.47 mph. Oh yeah...

Still haven't justified buying any of these boosters yet. The Magic one was the closest, offering the most I'd like to use. This one I'm on the fence about as usual. Ninja Run sounds/looks neat, but I really only have 2 characters that it would "look right" on. Though as a much faster sprint and not taking a power choice at 6 for a travel power, it'd be a nice way to save a power slot until my usual respec around level 30.

The weapons are meh and my "ninja" wouldn't use them; haven't seen any costume parts other than the tiny snapshots from the page.

le sigh. I'll wait to see how I feel after the end of the year.

I think you jump higher than CJ with it, and it detoggles in combat anyway, so you wouldn't want to run it at that time anyway.

As I said before, I'm not sure why they made it exclusive with CJ, as you no one is going to want to use it in combat. Doesn't really add up, and limits how much it's going to help you travel a bit.

The point is that if you use it when traveling, even on mission maps, Cj will be de-toggled. As a player that leaves travel powers on so I can get to the next group of bad guys faster; I'm not willing to sacrifice the defensive by having CJ off.

I can understand why they would want CJ de-toggled when using NR, but they should have realized CJ is more than just added vertical movement, it has a significant defensive bonus to it too.

Sooo... make a bind or macro that will activate the alternating power at the press of a button?

/bind g "powexec_toggleon Ninja Run$$powexec_toggleon Combat Jumping"

(I think that's right... you might just want to use powexec_name)

Since binds read from right to left, you'll activate Combat Jumping the first time you press G, then Ninja Run (which detoggles Combat Jumping) the second time, then toggle on Combat Jumping (which will detoggle Ninja Run) with the third press, and so on.

Thanks for the input.

Creating a bind to toggle off one power and activate the other is still a waste of time IMO and a task that I am not willing to do as it is still an extra step I'd have to take from mob to mob.

I pick up CJ, not for the vertical benefit, but for the defensive benefit. The power should work with CJ, but it does not; which means I won't be buying it. More power to the players that are willing to deal with it, but I'm not. Ninja Run does not affect Sprint, Hurdle, or Swift among others; I don't see why it should de-toggle CJ.

I'd love to support the team (and GR) by purchasing a pack, but I won't be with this one, I'll be looking out for the Mutant pack

It's because Ninja Run is half Super Speed and half Super Jump, the latter half being the reason.

Super Jump detoggles Combat Jumping too, and I've never once heard anyone complain about it.

For the first 14 issues, I had to turn on all my toggles every time I got mezzed. At times, bugs made it so I had to retoggle every time I zoned. It didn't make the game unplayable or even more difficult; it just meant I had to be aware of my toggle status. And this "problem" you have, as I mentioned above, is still an ongoing issue with Super Jump, as it automatically detoggles Combat Jumping and always has.

As far as I'm concerned, you're just being lazy now. I'm not going to put your steak in a blender just because you don't want to exert the effort to chew it.

Yes SJ turns off CJ, but if you saw my SR regen builds you'd see I don't have SJ, and the one SR regen build I do have it on, it's only used when scaling walls in the RWZ. Also CJ and SJ are in the same pool of powers and are similar, which makes sense that one de-toggles the other, just as Hover de-toggles Fly.

So what if I'm being lazy, that's my prerogative, just like it's my prerogative whether or not to spend my $10, so since you want to be rude just because my opinion and play style differs from yours; you know what you can do with your steak and your blender.
