Okay, well by the looks of this thread and what inquiries I've fielded in game, I'd say its a good bet that at least a trial run should go ahead. I am aware of Turkey Day in the States coming up in the near future, so I'd like to aim for the weekend prior (21-22 Nov) and hopefully catch as many as possible for the Raid before people start heading out of town and such to visit family for the holiday.

I'll have one of the Level 50 mods place an announcement in the MotD closer to that weekend once a tentative time is set for the Raid. I rarely catch either of the Guardian Channel mods online (or at least not afk), so if someone has them on their friends list or so, please ask if they'd drop me a line so I can ask about possibly hijacking that channels MotD as well to get the word out as much as possible that way. I will of course also post the particulars here as well.

One last note, anyone that has prior experience leading Hami Raid teams (not necessarily the raid itself, but the teams that compose the Raid), I'd welcome them as team leaders for the Villain Raid. The more experienced hands we can get to help lead this thing, the better the chance for success in my opinion.

Before this becomes an unsurmountable wall of text, I'll stop here for now. Feel free to drop me a line here or in-game @pyber

*Hands in resume*

* I have lead both the blaster and scrapper team.
* Been on the taunt tank team and played as a team healer as well.

The only 45+ I have red side is a level 50 Dark/ninja MM but I should be able to fit in on most teams. The only problem I am having right now is that since I upgraded to Win7 my game performance has been in the toilet during the raids. So hopefully I'll have things dialed back in by the next Hamme raid.

Never done a hami raid, but I've done a few Rikti mothership raids. Is the lag/performance issues on hami similar to that of the rikti raids?

My pc isn't the best, when I do a Rikti raid I have to turn all my graphic/sounds options to the min or off and even then I still a bit sluggish, but at least I can move and target

I have gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, Keep me here!

It is at least as bad as an RWZ, so make appropriate setting changes.

Depends on which strategy you use. The one that is popular on a lot of servers uses the MM pets in a constant stream to hold hami's aggro.

The one that I am developing as a modification from the blueside strategy actually uses brutes in place of the tankers and places MMs on other mito teams based on their secondary abilities. A /dark MM, for example, would go on the green mito team because they have at least one single target hold, have an excellent team heal that also does -regen to the mito, a debuff, an AoE aura that helps protect against the fear effects of the blue mitos, and a pet that also holds and heals.

Either way, though, the toon can be quite useful.

So, now that I know when I'll have time this coming weekend I've settled on a time for the first Raid.

Saturday, Nov 21st @ 6pm PST / 9pm EST

This will allow for plenty of time before the Rikti Raid later that night, and will hopefully be early enough to catch as many people as possible. As for the strategy we'll be using, what I'd like to do is try something similar to what Wulf and TA do on Pinnacle, which is a somewhat altered version of his Hero-side Hami Raids. Should we be successful this weekend, the following Saturday I'd like to try the strategy that Southern linked me to. After that, we'll decide which is easier to accomplish and stick with it.

I haven't confirmed any of the details with Wulf on his strategy yet (I'll talk to him in the next couple days when I have more time), but from what I understand it is similar to how he runs the Hero-side Hami Raids. Wulf, if I'm wrong about whats below, please let me know.

- Taunting Brutes in place of Tankers
- Yellow team would be all other Brutes and Stalkers
- Blue team would consist of Corruptors and some Dominators
- Green team would consist of Dominators, MM's and any Corruptors not filling the Blue team.
- VEATs would be placed according to their powersets (ranged or melee)
- As with Hero-side, each team will need someone with TP Friend to pull corpses out of the jello when it pops
- MM's can be spread around a little depending on their Secondary. All I'd ask is that when Hami pops, the MM's leave their pets when they run since we don't need aggro-happy pets bringing Hami aggro back to the gather point.

The general idea will obviously be along the same lines as the Hero-side Raids, with the taunting Brutes going in first after buffing up, and then followed by each of the Mito teams. TP'ers leave the jello first before Hami pops, followed by as many as can survive the pop, breaking aggro before gathering again for the next stage.

I'll see what I can do to gather a small stockpile of EoE's in case we don't get many while killing the monsters to spawn Hami. There aren't many available on Villain-side, but I'll grab what I can during the week running up to Saturday, perhaps leading a couple of monster hunting teams to build up said stockpile.

As mentioned, I'll chat with Wulf about the finer points of running his Pinnacle Raids in the next couple days hopefully, and I hope to see as close to a full zone as possible in The Abyss on Saturday evening!

I'll help Farm EoE's if needed to Pyber, and I'm sure Strife could be easily talked into going along with me.

Archtype to use...Well I have my healing MM, or my MM who has decent holds through her patron power and also has TP. Though My Main Corr has some good distance attacks with her primary and TP as well if I remember right.

Not going to offer up my brute though, I'm still trying to get the hang of that whole thing. And my other MM isn't slotted for crap *chuckles* So I guess when the night comes, you tell me which you need more. You got my global

You can also get EoE's from Monster Island (Zone Entrance in the back of GV). I have about 10 EoE's in my base from our last attempt.

I'll be bringing my Badger, Dragun Merc/Dark MM.

Pyber,

Just in case we don't get a chance to chat in-game, here's the excerpt from my strat about the team breakdowns. Your list is correct, of course, and hopefully this will give you a little more detail about the team set-ups. If you have further questions, drop me a line here or see if you can find me in-game between now and then.

Good luck!

Wulf's Public Villain Raid Strategy (excerpt)

There are a minimum of 5 teams used in this strategy: a Hami Aggro Team, a Yellow Mito Aggro Team, a Yellow Mito Kill Team, a Blue Mito Kill Team, and a Green Mito Kill Team. The following is a list of who should, ideally, be on each team. Given the nature of public raiding, however, we live with the reality that we will frequently not have the best combination of toons present. So these teams will, by necessity, be modified for each raid to accommodate the people present.

Hamidon/Yellow Mito Aggro Team: 3 Brutes (w/taunt), 3 Pain Domination Masterminds or Corruptors, and 1 Kinetic is ideal. It is possible to work with 2 Pain Domination toons and no Kinetic, but at that point I strongly suggest having an additional Brute on the team to take over when and if the Brute who is taunting the Hamidon goes down. It is also possible to use /thermal corruptors or /poison MMs as support toons for the two brutes taunting the yellows, since they have both a single target heal and a mez protection power. In this event, however, I strongly suggest having an additional support toon (preferably a /pain domination corruptor or MM) on the team, as the Hami-taunting brute gets very significant –regen and –heal on a regular basis.

Yellow Mito Aggro Team: 4 Brutes (w/taunt), 2 Pain Domination Masterminds or Corruptors, and 1 Kinetic. Again, it is possible to operate without the kinetic on this team. It’s very handy if at least one of the pain domination toons has recall friend and Conduit of Pain. Again, it is possible to use /thermal corruptors or /poison MMs as support toons for the four brutes taunting the yellows, but again I strongly suggest having an additional support toon (preferably a /pain domination corruptor or MM) on the team as a safety measure.

Yellow Mito Kill Team: 6-7 Melee Damagers (Brutes, Stalkers, Soldiers of Arachnos, or Night Widows), 1 Pain Domination, Thermal, or Sonic. It will also work if you have two support toons on this team, and if at least one of them has recall friend and a rez of some kind. Group Fly is a great help on this team. In the event no one on the team has group fly, the flight packs that can be purchased in Grandville are of great help.

Blue Mito Kill Team: 6-7 Ranged Damagers (Corruptors and Masterminds with FF, Storm, or Traps as their secondary powerset), 1 Pain Domination, Thermal, or Sonic. In this case, one of the corrupters may be a Pain Domination, Thermal, or Sonic, but you would want to make sure that they knew their primary job was mez protection and not damage. Again, two support toons are better. Note that, depending on your team make-up at any given raid, this team may not need an individual using single target mez protection. With two Dark corruptors using Shadow Fall, and two or more Force Field or Traps on the team, the AoE mez protection should be sufficient as long as the team stays together. Therefore, Group Fly is a valuable power to have on this team. Again, flight packs will work if Group Fly is not available on the team.

Green Mito Kill Team: 6-7 Holder/Damagers (Dominators, Fortunatas, and Masterminds with Poison, Dark Miasma, or Trick Arrow as their secondary powerset), 1 Pain Domination, Thermal, or Sonic. Ideally, this team’s mez protection would come from the secondary powers of the holders themselves, allowing you to have an additional holder/damage dealer on this team. Again, it will be important in that case to insure those with mez protection responsibilities are clear on their duties. It is useful to have two of these teams working together, if possible, and targeting through the same person. This Team, also, benefits greatly from having Group Fly, although, again, flight packs will be sufficient.

It is rare to have a full 50 people (zone limit) in the zone and active at any given time. Typically, when the zone reaches its capacity, there are a handful of people who are disconnecting and trying to come back in, along with a handful at the entrance of the zone trying to load in. As such, 6 teams will usually be as many as you need. Once the original Yellow, Blue, and Green Mito Kill Teams are full, extra people should gather on a sixth team to help supply holds and damage against the Green Mitos, as mentioned above. After that, the Aggro Teams can pick up one additional straggler each, meaning that up to 48 people can be on teams.

Thanks much Wulf

The extra details will be of great help, and hopefully some people will have a glance at this thread and read through your post to see where they fit in. The less people I have to explain to, the faster we can get down serving jello, heh.

As for EoE's, this evening I'm going to see about organizing a team to collect some extras in The Abyss to ensure that we have extras in case of shoddy drops while attempting to spawn Hami on Saturday, and of course for future use.

I know Guardian's rather low population of regular Villain players could affect the numbers we get, but I'm truly hopeful that we can get at least enough for the primary five teams. After seeing how many showed up to a last minute call for help during the aborted attempt several months ago (as Blood Beret mentioned earlier), I'm reasonably sure we should be able to get enough, especially with the advance notice this time around.

Quick note before I head to the land of the Sandman. Thanks to the team that joined me on Monster Island this evening to collect up some EoE's. I've got a stash of 50+ now that I can draw from should they be needed this weekend or for future Raids.

And before Saturday, I'd like to get a solid idea of who will be leading each team. Ariel, I believe you volunteered to lead one, and I'd welcome that as I know you've participated in many of Wulfs raids (I know you've got your MoITF beforehand, but hopefully you'll be there!). I'll be picking up one of the Yellow Teams on my Fire/Kin, so that leaves three teams that I'd like solid leaders for (or four should there be a large enough turnout for a sixth team). So if anyone that's willing to take on this mantle and do their best to lead a team, drop me a line here or in-game.

Until Saturday then folks! Remember, 6pm PST/9pm EST

Enjoyed meeting the real Hami. Sort of. Nice to see GMs going down that fast lol.
The turnout was decent, which was promising for the next attempt.
I'd love to try this again tomorrow or next Saturday. Hopefully with a bit more success.
Thanks for organizing this.

Welp I think I finally fixed my perfomance issues with my computer, stupid swap file , and I should be able to lead a team next time.

I have experence on the Blue (have lead), Yellow taunt and Yellow take down (have lead) teams. So until next raid I'll just store up all the EoE's that I have and make a Hammie build for my MM.
