Just something that made me giggle...
That's a lot of importance you gave to a single tell from a random person.

You should have responded, we're not forming an all Blaster task force

Yes, because as you can tell, I didn't say that it was just something that I thought was funny, I specifically said that I was tearing my hair out about it and that I am currently losing sleep over the incident.

Honoree cheats ... plain and simple.

I've been wanting for a while to make an all Assault Rifle Trainwreck...I mean Team.
All martial art would be neat...but odd.
All spines would be *******.
oh it is...ITF, all 3 respecs (smh, a joke at best) Manticore, LGTF (Uncompleted) and Moonfire...
Very fun

Its funny how people still fail to understand that.. See the sig

Why would it be a "trainwreck"? My ITF run that had 6/8 or 7/8 AR Blasters absolutely destroyed everything. Of course, having three AR/MM probably helped in that regard.
|
All controller team would be a hoot to watch. Hard on the graphics card.
Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.
My thought was lack of control. Though that might not be as valid a concern as I thought it would be. Planned positioning and taking it slow would help.

Then of course, you add in my particular AR Blaster with a 168' range FA... It's the Blaster I like to describe as the one I play when I want to reach out and touch someone. And all their friends. With both hands. Repeatedly.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
I doubt that is needed. The simple AoE carnage that AR puts out is all you need vs. all but the AVs. The AVs drop very fast to 6+ blasters in any case.

And, no sarcasm, I would love to see an AV killed by 6+ AR blasters. Maybe let some fire in on it.
And the more I think of it, I'd love to see a full 8 MA scrapper team. Just not dressed like power rangers.

Gah. Verizon's colluding 5gb usage cap can go to hell. I wish I could put up a video to point out why you don't need puny positioning with AR Blasters.
As for AVs, AR is admittedly bad at single target damage. But when you're talking about a Blaster being bad at a method of damage, you're talking about the difference between 170 kph and 150 kph. And when you're considering multiple Blasters on a team...if they can survive the situation, they'll kill the target or they better turn in their Blaster cards.

I don't think any AV would last long under 8 Ignite patches.
Heh, all scrapper and all blaster teams are great fun. It's kind of sad that some people are so stuck in the classic team makeup that they miss all the fun.
Regarding the all AR team, I was on an all AR ITF last spring. I believe the saying goes, "don't bring a knife to a gunfight", or axe in the Roman's case. We slaughtered them, and with very few deaths. Only the AR/EM blapper kept dying. (A blaster trying to melee a Mino rarely ends well, not to mention exploding crystals.)
The team was 7 blasters and one AR/dark corruptor. The corrupter no doubt helped against the AVs, but otherwise was too busy blasting to do much debuffing. Caltrops also helped mitigate damage.
Positioning was irrelevant, at least at a team level. There was no pulling or choke points. We all just charged in and opened fire, often engaging 3 spawns in one room. As one team member remarked on the lag valley mission, "Ambush, meet 8 Full Autos."
AVs were no problem either. Requiem, admittedly a weaker AV, dropped in well under a minute. For Rommy, we shot the nictus from range and then took Rommy out. I don't really remember the fight with Rommy, but also don't remember any problems. As mentioned, ignite would quickly burn him down, plus some had survellance, and of course our dark corr.
Oh, I do remember one problem with the Rommy fight. Three times, someone accidentally shot the nictus with LRM, a different player each time. We had to retreat and restart a few times.
Hmm, now I want to do that again, I'll have to see if I can get one going sometime. I also need to get a spiner leveled up so I can join your TFs Possible. I think spine/elec, I can't resist two damage auras, plus the spine AOE goodness. Just being there should melt them.
I was on that AR ITF on Liberty, running My Cold Dead Hands, AR/Ice (Shiver ftw!) Things basically just fell down (really fast) as 3+ Full Autos slammed into each spawn. Sure there were a few deaths and Rom was a little tricky until we came up with some discipline, but it was still basically a steamroller.
I'll run an all AR ITF anytime.
Global is: @Yeti Gone Bad
Hi Yeti, yep, the 10 million bullet Task Force, they did a few runs, but I was only on the first one. I was away the rest of the weekend. My global is @Night's Dawn, and the toon I played was Eibhir, my AR/dev. I don't remember if I teamed with you on that first run, but I know we've teamed up other times. Yes, things died pretty quickly on that TF.
I've become a big fan of running all Scrapper Task Forces and lately I've been running the Hess TF with all Scrapper teams. Last night, after sending out offers to join the TF in various channels I was sending out offers via tell to join the TF as well. I wanted to let the people that I was sending tells to know that it was going to be an all Scrapper Hess run, so I let them know in the tell.
It didn't take long to gather a team of seven and while we were waiting on everyone to arrive in the zone I sent out a few more tells asking people if they wanted to join. The message I tend to send out is something like this: "Hello! Interested in joining us for an all Scrapper Hess TF?" Basically at this point people were saying no thanks, that they had to go to bed soon or whatever, but the very last tell I sent out I got this as a response from a Scrapper: "No, a Hess TF with only Scrappers would be far too long and laborious. Have fun dying alot."
I was kind of flabbergasted, but I sent back my usual, "Okay, take care!" only to be told that the user was not on line or was hidden. This was two seconds after I got thier reply. It was a bit strange.
Anyway, we ran the Hess TF with all Scrappers (seven of us) as planned. We killed pretty much everything we came across and it took us 42 minutes to complete the TF.
"Long and laborious" indeed. We all had a pretty good laugh at that.
I'm not sure what the mentatlity of the person was, but yeah, we all thought it was pretty funny.
Just felt like sharing.
