Buy low, sell high is normal way of making money on markets.
Or buy cheap level 50 set recipes & sell them. 30 odd minutes of hustling to the vendor and back will pay for all the common IOs and SOs you want.
Starting with 0 inf is'nt gimped. Thats standard operating procedure. Gimp'd would be starting with negative funds.
If transfer to characters happen, you'd likley see more increase in prices for lowbie stuff.
Then I imagine you would complain you couldnt afford that.
Its halloween. ToTing will get you nice valuable salavage.
In short; Inf rains from Paragon skies, hold out a bucket,
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
You will not break even at 500k; crafting fee is 460k and the recipe is anywhere from 80k to 120k. You also spend a market slot and time waiting for the crafted enhancement to sell. Generally, unless you have the recipe memorized (and in that case, why are you not vendoring the recipe?), you will not beat dedicated crafters at common IOs.
|
Once youve found a profitable common Io to craft (Damage, Acc, Rech, End Redux), take the small investment of time to memorize the 35-40 recipies (usually takes around 8 of each), and then you can start cranking them out as fast as you can purchase the salvage- they'll usually sell for 200-500K overnight. That's anywhere from 4x to 10x profit margin, it doesnt take long to build up a good stash with that ratio.
You'll probably need about 500K to start this project, I usually get that by selling everythign that drops on my lowbies, and of neccessary, buying Common IO recipes and Uncommon salvage for pennies on the dollar and running them to a vendor.
Of course, this is really nothing new, I and many others have repeated it numerous times on the Market Forum. We're only "greedy" in that we're happy to take people's Inf for a few minutes of our time- but not so "greedy" that we wont tell you exactly how we got rich.

Want to get cash fast and easy? Here's what I do:
1) Have a look at the Recipe Level/Divider chart on ParagonWiki's Common Invention Recipes page. If you divide a Common IO's crafting price by the appropriate divider, you get the amount of Influence an NPC vendor will give you for that Recipe. 2) Hit Wentworth's or the Black Market and look at what Common IO recipes are selling for over there. You want to find Recipes with plenty for sale and showing a sell price history well below what an NPC will give you for them. This is easier than it sounds, because people are silly and slap Recipes on the market for whatever amount instead of checking what they're worth. Especially look at Recipes which relatively few people use, like Confuse Duration and Range Increase. You can usually skip Accuracy Recipes. 3) Set up buy orders for as many underpriced Recipes as you have Influence and/or market slots for. Go for it! So long as you're bidding less than an NPC pays, you're good. 4) Go. Play. Have fun. This is the part where you wait, except you're not really waiting, because you don't have to be right there at the Consignment House. Beat up some enemies, enter a costume contest, log off and do something else, whatever! 5) Come back after some time. Sometimes you'll buy a huge stash of Recipes in a matter of minutes, other times you'll have to wait overnight. For this step, I recommend going to a Consignment House very close to an NPC that buys Recipes. Grab as many Recipes as you can carry and sell 'em to said NPC. Repeat until you've sold all the Recipes you just bought. Then, place bids on more Recipes. This method isn't going to generate massive amounts of money, but it'll easily get you enough to SO out a character, and it takes minimal time and effort. I've got characters in the teens that have generated millions of Influence through this system. |
And you don't even have to go to the market forum to figure it out.
My starting characters always run this and have the best luck starting with lvl 35 common recipies, eventually shooting for lvl 40 and 45 recipies. I'm often decked out with IO's at level 12, and still have a fast-growing bank account. By the time buying/selling at these levels ceases to be helpful, I'm already at a level where making mission cash is easy.
As an admitted non-marketer, my newest characters had millions (if not 10) by level 20 =just= by selling drops, nothing else.
I sell set IOs to vendors (because my experience is that stuff doesn't sell; why clog up my limited market slots?), list commons and salvage at double the vendor price. If they sell, it's profit; it they don't after a week or so, I take 'em to the vendor.
It allows me to stay current with first DOs and then SOs.
If =I= can do it, I truly don't understand how someone who tries =isn't= swimming in influence/infamy.

Simple fact is. salvage/recipe prices dropped to such a low that it is very hard to earn enough to buy SO's let alone IO's.
|
Where did I get the starting inf? When I logged off for the night, I put in a bunch of lowball bids on SO's. When I logged back in a week later, I had a tray full of SO's I could vendor for 10-15k. Dead easy.

I get to 50, craft and sell my drops.
I roll in the 40-45 range for Merits, craft and sell my drops.
I sell all my salvage drops as well.
Profits flow like milk.

The simplest way to make inf when being a lowbie:
- Play AE.
That's IT. You can use the tickets for Bronze rolls; under-30 bronze rolls are very nice because it can net one of the "global" IOs that are always in demand, i.e., -KB, Steadfast Res/Def, Regenerative Tissue +Regen, and other recipes that sell very nice when at low level. Or you can go for the surefire and use 500 tickets to buy a rare salvage that sells for 1-2M (do a quick check of the market to see what's hot lately and you're done).
It's beautiful in its simplicity. You don't even have to run to the vendor whenever you fill up, you roll whenever it's convenient for you.
