Travel time can definitely make the 'gather on x' strategy not work well. IP is HORRIBLE for that.
In my opinion, having between 2 or 3 full teams is the best way to go. You have just enough to get everything started, but don't mow down the banners and/or GM before everyone gets enough shots in to count.
On Champion last night, people were going from zone to zone, wherever it was. Level 50s in Atlas, King's Row, and the Hollows taking these down. I think that's the expectation.

A while ago I spotted an event in Steel Canyon, Checking a whoall revealed six or seven people. I didn't bother to try. And I still have yet to see people fighting at a banner unless I brought them with me.
That's OK, though. To each his own. It just kind of sucks, because the event looks like it's cool, but the damb critters are too tough for a low-level Blaster to make much difference. I can barely kill a MINION, and I get killed all the time.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Spontaneous banner stomping in non prime times isn't likely on many servers. Just like a lot of things, this event works better if you're in an active global channel where people are going after this sort of thing.

A note on tactics:
With SSK, team members get sk'd up or down to the level of the leader. I would recommend the highest level team member having the star.
That way, everyone will have access to all of their powers.
Earlier today I was part of an attempt to fight the banners in Faultline. I joined a team whose leader was 19... I was 41... Guess how many powers I lost.

They should toss a random giant Marshmallow guy into the Aspect spawning pool ^_^.

I've noticed I am more likely to get a Treat if I have an empty slot in my Inspiration Tray. I've gotten Treat with full trays and Trick with half-empty ones, but leaving a spot for the small insp to drop seems to increase the chance of getting a Treat.
If I had to speculate, I would guess that Treats could take 3 forms-
a small/medium inspiration
a small/medium inspiration + a bonus costume power
a bonus costume power
If you have a full tray, it precludes the first two possibilities. If you don't get the third option, you get a Trick.

It's the same way with costume powers. Since you can only have one type of costume power, if the treat is a costume you already have, again it will award the costume. But, if you already have it, it won't double up.

Actually, The treat is determined before checking your tray. If the treat is an inspiration, and your tray is full, then you appear to get nothing. (Well, actually, you do get nothing, it's just that the system thinks it gave you a treat.)

@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.
Does anyone know if a duplicate costume power counts towards the costumes badges?
|
Note: receiving a duplicate costume will give no indication of the duplicate, but it will count towards the badges. Because of this, it will appear that fewer costume drops have occurred than are required for the badge.

Right, so the event needs coordinated attacks across all banners at the same time? Well, there go my efforts to contribute. Let's hope someone is recruiting next time that happens.
|
The only times this even fails is when you have a situation where no one is covering a banner at all. One time people were attacking the spawns at two of them for nearly five minutes and wondering why they weren't become vulnerable before anyone checked and saw that the other two were totally neglected.

If you have enough people in a zone to attack all banners at once, then sure go for it. However most of the time, you're going to see 1-3 teams, and in that case it's far easier to move one banner at a time.
