Triumph tournament

Event info and Format
• Event will start at 10 PM PST on Friday November 13th.
• Event will take place in Pocket D.
• Players of all skill levels and experience are welcome to participate in the event.
• This will be a 2 stage event.
• The first stage will consist of 1-4 team matches.
o Number of matches and team sizes will depend on turnout.
• Stage 2 will be a bracket tournament.
• The bracket tournament will be 1v1 format.
o Bracket sized will be determined by interest and player turnout.
• Seeding for the brackets will be determined by total kills in the preliminary matches.
o The Player with the highest kills will receive the #1 seed ect.
Sign Ups and entry
• Signups will be taken from 9:30 PM-10:00 PM PST on the date of the event in Pocket D.
• This event will be held at the super heavyweight division all entries must be level 47+.
Prizes
• All prizes will be available to either faction at the conclusion of the event
• Upon entering the event players will be entered into a random drawing for one Apocalypse Superior ranged damage set.
• Winners of the first stage team matches (those with the highest kill count on each team) will receive Luck of the Gambler 7.5% recharge recipe.
• Winners of the stage 2 bracket will receive one full set of Gladiator’s Strike melee damage PVP enhancements.
Rules
• Trash talk will not be tolerated at this event. Any reported instance of inappropriate behavior on broadcast or in tells will result in disqualification from the event and a removal of any prizes earned.
• Matches will be 10 minutes in length
• Diminishing Returns will be left ON for all matches.
• Travel Suppression will be left OFF for all matches.
• Heal Decay will be turned OFF for all matches.
• Tier 1 inspiration only will be allowed
• Only temp powers available at the Pocket D vendor will be allowed
• Cage, Troll Caves and Eden maps will be banned from the event and map selection will be set to random.
• If a player Disconnects or DC’s while zoning into a match the match will be restated when the player logs back in.
• If the player has not logged back in within 10 minutes of disconnecting they may forfeit the match.

Sudden Death
• In the event of sudden death within a bracket phase match the match is considered over as soon as sudden death hits, and will be scored as a tie.
• Matches that end in a tie will result in a tie breaker match.Tie breaker matches will be 5 minutes in length
• Players must use the same character throughout the entire event, and no character switches or alternate builds will be allowed.
• If players have an issue with the rules or format of the event they can post here. Collective grievances with a specific rule or aspect of the event may result in a change to that specific rule.
The focus of this event is to offer players an opportunity for friendly competition with the chance to win in game prizes.Good luck and have fun.

man, move it to the right a few weeks and I may be back home from this deployment by then.... Of course I will be 6 months out of practice, and probably not have the newest greatest toon to use but I bet I have somethin that would add to the team stage.

Sounds like fun, I may stick my neck out and participate.

Be totally non-FoTM, but probably a good target.

There have been some comments about the time and date. Although I would like to make this as accessible as possible to all who wish to participate, the date cannot be changed. However if moving the time of the event up an hour or 2 would generate a higher turnout I would be willing to do that.
If you would like to post suggestions for a specific time change I would consider moving the start time.

Just a reminder to all participating the event is this Friday, and will be held at the time scheduled in the original post because suggestions for a specific time change weren't posted. Hope to see you all there Triumph.

Woot! The tourney was fun, and the icing on the cake was even winning in the final match! I was just surprised that I stayed awake for the whole thing, hehe. It looks like there were a few tie breakers that needed to be decided upon and required some of us to wait, but we still had fun making our own mini matches during the waiting periods.

I was a little pleasantly surprised that the build on my MA/SR did decent. I finalized his build to the way I liked it right before purple IO sets came out. Once purples came out, I got a little frustrated and refused to pour any more time into modifying the build to keep up w/ the changes. Haven't changed the build since then, so my build is still purple-less and PvP IO-less, but I can still survive! My RL job may not be recession-proof, but maybe my scrapper's build has a chance at being dev-proof? lol

Anyways, the prize of the Gladiator Strike set was real sweet, but I actually don't think I can use it in my scrap w/out breaking his build! Since I only put the really cool shiney stuff in my main, I'll most likely be looking to trade or sell some of these IOs. I'm actually looking for Fury of the Gladiator: Chance for Res Debuff, so if anyone is looking make a trade, hit me up!
