Color Powerset User Thread

I'm having a lot of fun playing with contrasting colors. You can get some neat effects with sets like Energy blast and Electric Assault, going with combos like green and pink, blue and yellow, purple and cyan, etc.

I'm loving my red and gold Dark Melee, and I've also done a costume with purple and blue Dark Melee to go with my Nictus shield.

You know, I hear this thing about "Storm powers looking like sandstorms" a lot. I have a Bots/Storm MM I'm dying to try this on with a twist - she's from Mars (green skin and everything, yup) and I'm going to try making the Storm powers look like a Martian sandstorm, meaning reds.

Coloring my Rad/Fire Blaster medium blue and white makes it look like perfect Cherenkov Radiation. I've also seen a beautiful looking Rad/Rad Def using pure white.

Ohh I like that.

I've colored Storm powers black and purple to match Darkness powers on a blaster before.

Unfortunately my BS/SD scrapper doesn't allow for much color changing.

I've found that colouring an EM/EA brute green/lime green basically makes it look like Radiation Armour/pompoms.

My Dark/Dark def has been using pinky red/purple and it almost looks like a Warshade - Much better than the standard colours.

I've got a few color suggestions that... while they dont look like anything REAL, they look very pretty without being intrusive.

-Ring of Fire is reeeally pretty with a Greenish-blue Dark Fire setup.
-Psychic blasts look great in a light Cyan primary with a pink or purple secondary color.
-Psychic Shockwave looks great with every color combination I've tried.
-A number of powers, like the Sonic blasts, have sort of a fading effect, they start as the Primary color and fade to the Secondary color. Use them, they're really cool!

We need more ideas for Sonic Blast. I have no idea what to do with it.

And against my better judgement.. I'm going to release my greatest secret. Yellow and Black Energy blast (fiddle with it a while, you can get it right) looks kinda like you're shooting bees at the enemy.

I was gonna keep that concept for myself, but Blasters haven't gotten Thorns for a Manipulation set yet.

I'm a little disappointed in Energy Melee. I tried making each power a different two colors (two opposite colors so they stand out and don't blend; red/green, yellow/purple, blue/orange, etc.) so that when I use a chain of attacks, the glowy fists keep changing colors. But it didn't work that way, the fists stay the same color - the color is decided by which power you use to start the attack chain.

Maybe Super Strength or something will be different.
