PvP IO Drop Rates???

OK so far on 4 toons solo I have received a PvP IO roughly at the 400 reputation mark. If I were to evenly split the reputation denominations of 1s and 5s that works out to 240 kills. I'll low ball it to 200 kills per recipe for the sake of conversation, but even so... 200!

What have your experiences been?

Do you feel the issue/bug with low PvE drop rates are also affecting PvP drop rates?

Any ideas for the Devs to make some improvements in this area?

I personally feel the entire PvE and PvP reward systems could use a look over and revamp, but what are your thoughts on having a reputation cash-in system similar to the merit reward system?

I believe that, from my experience at least, your reputation has something to do with your drop formula. I have been sitting on a two month dry spell on my scrap at 400 rep and never a pvp drop. I get on my MM for one day howerever and 2 drops after 2 hours about of pvp'ing. Can anyone corroborate this?

I get about a pvp IO every 1-2 hours at least in RV. Its roughly 25-40 kills an hour at least. There are freak dry spells and freak drop spells where i don't get any for 3 days and then get 2 within the hour. As it stands with declining purple prices, PvP ios are going to be the "Big Items" Which makes me a happy panda.

I have been arena farming a single target for days STRAIGHT. It took me about 4 days to accumulate 11 IO drops. Few down times here and there, but mostly farming. That comes out to about 10 shots at a drop an hour (rep timers, resets, etc etc), for 24 hours, 4 days. Ludicrous. And I am farming lol, I can't imagine the luck people are having in actual PvP. I will do more refined and precise testing in the coming weeks and share the data.

Edit: Also, the fact that PvPIOs are rare is one thing, but the fact that certain ones are more rare than other is absolutely foolish. A 3% def should not be so rare that it costs 1b. And it should not be so hard to accumulate one whole set considering the slight benefits they give.

ok i dont get this at all lol. I have a lvl 37 blaster in Sirens and i kill so many pvpers everyday but i never have gotten a pvp IO yet. I have 400 rep and i still cant get why i havent gotten one single IO after 2 months yet. DO i have to be lvl 50 or something?

Nope.

Sadly, I think drop rates are borked. If they are "dropping as intended", it's set at a pathetic rate and causing more frustration than enticement. Also, it is very discouraging to look at the prices on the market if you are a buyer.

It's about time for the Devs to reevaluate the entire loot and reward system.

in 4 days of pvping i have recieved 1 pvp IO... reached 400 rep at the beginning of the 3rd day. i would agree that the drop rates are a bit low.

I've had 4 pvp ios drop for me since they went live (from actual pvp not farming). PvP IO drop rates definately need to be looked at.

The drop rates are not based on reputation. Do not buy into that belief. The drop rates for PvP enhancements are incrediblely high, more so then superior enhancements. Which in my eyes is 2 steps backward considering they were ment to entice more people to come to PvP.

With enough petitioning I'm sure the developers would increase the drop rate but the problem is that these threads are so sporadic there isn't one concentrated effort to push for this change. I'm pretty sure that there at least 200 people who want this changed and if they drop rates were decreased from 200 per kill to 100 per kill you'd see a significant increase in PvP traffic but that is just an assumption.

So my challenge to you is, if you want it changed, make an "Official" thread, use logical arguements, have a lot of people behind it, and stay positive.

I'm pretty sure 99% of us are aware that there is no connection between rep and drop rates.

I have a couple of data samples that show PvP drop rates fall more on the inconsistant to low side.

The current drop rates are not helpful to PvP players or encouraging anyone except the ebil (or soon to be ebil) ones milking the market. How do I know... 10 Billion in one month of taking advantage of the market.

Also, PvP recipes are not better than purples in PvE despite the couple of "ok" bonuses and proc. Thanks to PvP DR the bonuses are pitiful and the only truely decent and desirable ones are the proc. The thought that PvP was butchered because of these almost complete joke rewards is laughable and is trademark to the attention PvP has received.

Very good points.

I personally feel most of the PvPers have been focused on character stats and PvPing as opposed to drop rates so that's why we are way slim on data, but because of the drop rates and costs, it's starting to get some of us to pay attention more. Also, it's much easier and faster to generate numbers for PvE but I'm sure more of us will be proactive now that we are more aware.

The Devs have been notified so I'm hoping they follow through and do a check instead of waiting for their paying customers to spend months PvPing collecting data for them.

Honestly I feel that the Devs should spend more time double/triple checking systems and asking themselves "how can we make what we have better?", instead of waiting for customer to complain or provide data.

You say pvp bonuses are pitiful? The only pitiful bonuses are defense and resist, really. HP, Damage, Accuracy, and Recovery are hardly DR'd at all, and considering they exemp to any level, I would say they are very nice for pvp.
