So... level 40 Warshade, with no vet badges, told me I was wrong...
I don't even get negative rep. I feel so cheated.
I recently rolled a Arch/TA Corruptor, and am now in the process of PL'ing myself with my second account to get him to 22 and SO range.
I'm sick of the lowbie red-side content.. Does this make me evil? /shrug |
Feeling: Very shared
Hoping: For changes
Personal Cure: Street sweep to: Level 5 then: Proceed to Oakes

Okay, in all fairness.. there was no exploiting in levelling this fast. The tool released gave the tools to make missions that people could then use to level insanely fast. So... to a degree I agree with Nethergoat. There was no exploiting. Not in that respect. And no, you can not call an MA n00b an exploiter, they're basically overpowered level 1 characters. Sadly enough..
Like I said, in that respect there was no exploiting. There was in another way however and I think that may be why some people get so worked up every time the PL's in MA get mentioned. I feel that those people that would start a team on their 50's and pull in a bunch of people ONLY to get 8-person spawns so THEY could grab a lot of cash and tickets were exploiting. Not on the game. As I said, that's now history and was just a tool that allowed insane missions to be created. The exploiting here was the exploiting of new players, making them into AE n00bz, MA neWbz or whatever name you wish to give. The saddest thing though is that someone who is new to the game already has more knowledge than the others with at least one 50 (judging from the 40 WS). |
Reason: Devs considered the Rapid Exp: Exploitative
Otherwise: Why changed it?
Also: Why STATE that they believed: It was broken?
Re-iteration: Nothing wrong with being: New to game
Possessing that much stupid: Illegal activity

The tool was faulty alright, no doubt about it, they just should have pulled something else in the meantime though instead of leave it open. They should have cut off the SSK in there, dropped tickets altogether, or best of all perhaps, drop inf gain entirely until it was as it is now. But it was left as is.
As for the rapid experience, if the character went from naught to fifty in six hours, yeah. That's pretty fast. Unless we're talking about cars.
But those people that actually stood there for hours on end trying to get into a team, they spent more than 6 hours... in a way... and slipped through the holes in the net. Still, while hobbled, they did get that XP in about 6 hours. They just took longer to use those 6 hours..

This is all assuming the Devs can re-code/fix stuff at the snap of their fingers. We, as outsiders, have no reliable way of knowing just how hard it is to fix stuff like that. Also, it wouldn't immediately be apparent that it was an exploit, not until people actually exploited it. Then, when they did, it became en masse. It then became apparent, but it takes time to fix anything. During which time, it only escalated, as people presumably tried to cram in as much PL'ing as they could (for those who wanted to) and/or farming (again for those who wanted to. And no, I'm not saying farming is a bad thing here, I'm just saying it happened)
Disabling: Human speech function
Fix: Now in place
Implementation: As speedy as possible

I personally think I16 meant they did more. They did an excellent job!
My son and I team, where he is by now probably on his 87th character (altoholic much?) so he never really gets into higher levels. He can now team with me and be alted 49 everywhere in zone. We can run his contacts without trouble, the team just resets to his level then.
Devs deserve a holiday. After GR though
If it counts for anything (and it probably doesn't)...
I literally just started playing two days ago, and even I know that you can get multiple costume slots. o_O I realize there are a multitude of possible factors involved, and that I am in no position to judge this person... But I will say that what the person did (as in, flame someone for having a "special convention costume") is fairly ignorant, regardless of how they got to their level. Whether or not they're an "AE Baby" is a moot point. Even not knowing you can have multiple costume slots can be forgiven. The real stupidity (and the main point of this story) lies in the fact that the player in question chose to flame someone over a costume. o_o |

Commander, I wouldn't even bother arguing with Nethergoat.
Most likely he's just upset about the downfall of AE and is looking to stir up and piss off as many people on the forums as possible. Not worth your time.
Anyway, I'm not convinced someone would just spontaneously insult you out of nowhere on a basis built totally on assumption. Guy must have been having a bad day or something and looking to pick a fight with anyone over anything. Probably upset over the "loss" of AE just like so many others.
My advice to these people would be to just get over it. Pissing random people off isn't going to change anything. All it does is sink you down to the level of a 12 year old schoolyard bully, assuming most of these people are, ya know, actual adults.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Something else i wanted to add towards the topics title... Anyone is able to go through all of the CoX content by the time they get their first vet badge. and majority of ae badges can be obtained in hours.
