If you could have 3 new Items....

What I want most has already been said - so here are three new things:

1) A separate channel for basebuilding text. Why plague the group every time you want to decorate?

2) Energy effects - point (spheres of various sizes), line (of a couple different thicknesses, relatively short since you could line up multiple for a longer line), plane (both flat and vertical), and cube (in a couple of sizes). All in three or four colors and at least two styles, such as electric and plasma. Ideally with lighting effects, since this is a wish list.

3) Lighting options for individual squares instead of whole rooms. The floor and ceiling heights have copy to room and copy to base options, lighting could as well. This would be good for having an area set aside as a detention zone, radiation test area, or what have you.

3) NPCs spawning from and vanishing into the base portals - that gives the impression of people working at or visiting bases.

3) Fans. Ceiling fans in lighting and standing/floor fans in room details.

Sorry for the weird three - I was in the Twisted Burrow less than a week ago and it hasn't worn off yet. Then again, only three of the 'three' are items. I claim individual-square lighting options as an item.

Three things... hmmm.
- Expandable teleporters (to 3-4 zones.)
- Power/control to fill in between "combo item" and "generator" - "combo unit mk II" and "Mini generator," for instance.
- Ability to scale items (thinner/thicker pillars, let me shrink the Robotic Fabricator and put it on a desk, etc.)

To see just how much life npc's can add to your base check my sig and the Carnie themed base I did up...all in the Oversite center room.

The 3 things I'd want bare minimum are:

1) Better Base Controls: lighting, more floor levels, able to move objects in all 3 axis without stacking tricks, rotating items in small increments etc..

2) Basic Structural Items: various floor panels in different sizes/themes, 1/4, 1/2, 1 sq big, 2 sq big, 4sq big - arcane (2 or 3 styles), tech, modern - with faces on all sides, various wall panels like floors.

3) NPCs: placable functional npcs with some simple settings such as, static, wander this room, wander base, static & fiddle with stuff. (perhaps with paths you can lay down in the editor). Simple MA dialog for them when clicked on & descriptions. Small chat trees a bonus (Hi there, choose 1 to 3 options up to 3 times) and of course true functional npc's such as tailors, difficulty changers etc.

Bonus: And I'd REALLY like some placeable nature items dammit! Trees w/o holders, grass, rocks water that splashes and not. streams, waterfall water, fog, etc..

Edit: here's a little something I did in a base right after Cimerora was released but the post seems to have been eaten....

3. Walls (It should be possible to create walls that are not a full square thick.)

There is so much more that I would like to see for bases, and hopefully some will make it to live in the NEAR future.

I second this.

1: Another vote for base NPCs.

2: A more "steampunk style" or whatever term you want to use teleport. Something that is neither the white hi-tech or mystic teleports, and fits with those base parts that are neither glossy high tech nor mystic. Something brassy with lightning.

3: A large monitor that shows actual city scenes. Like a view overlooking Atlas City Hall complete with heroes milling about, say.

I really like your 1st number three. The rest of your requests are quite nice also.

But for square by square lighting to be added, you should have complete "Dual" or "Triple" control of that lighting. It should work basically like the lighting in the base now; giving you control High, Middle, Floor. (Paraphrased). However, you should be able to change the color of the light given off by the items in the Lighting Items List. This would help to build mood, theme, any number of things.

I can't count the number of times I've played with Base lighting, and gave the room a sort of "gloom". But then when you add Lights from the Items, it's a blaring white that screws everything up. They should be at least be dimmable, if they are to remain as they are.

I vote for more Lighting controls.

That is my second of the three requested.

My third request is simply this.

Water.

Read all the other posts in this thread, go back and read all the lists made before. Water is one of the most requested Base design features.

Fountains, Waterfalls, pools, the abillity to "Paint" Water.

That's my third request.

The Dev's are likely very busy with Going Rogue, and I highly anticipate the release of that. Odds are this thread will be ignored like the many others that have appeared on this Forum. I still have Hope however, that we will eventually get some attention to detail, and functionallity.

Regards all.

1) Tintable/stackable Building blocks of various sizes

2) Add a center button to the floor leveler so we can add 2nd levels, and ramps/steps to match

3) Better/More Tech Items, especially Telepads because the ones we have are butt-ugly!

I would like to amend my choices and add the Disco ball and colored ceiling beam lights from Pocket D.

I'm just sayin'.

Just as a side note, to folks who don't like thick walls, I have created 1/2 or less thickness walls using back to back wall cabinets via the cubicle method. This cabinet method allows for a variety of wall textures, steel, concrete, rustic and wood. You can also make very thin walls in light and dark wood grain from merging facing tall light bookshelves or short dark bookcases. Both are more tedious and costly than desks but give a much better effect.

1) Different designs for the entry portal to replace that blue swirly column of light. It looks too magical for some bases. I'd love to be able to replace it with a tech teleporter, various styles of doorway, lift/elevator doors, sewer entrance pipe, underground/subway train station (would need a specially designed entrance room), an arachnos flyer (obviously we'd need a larger entrance room for that), etc etc.

2) More placeable doors, and perhaps also windows (much trickier, obviously) and skylights (to save me having to place all those fluorescent tube lights as "pretend skylights"), to put on the walls/ceilings so that our bases look like a building interior or part of a larger building (rather than just a load of connected boxes with only a blue swirly portal connecting to the outside world).

3) Water features.

I'd also like tons of useful and decorative items based around the Steampunk style of Nemesis - the Devs could further use this artwork to create new Nemesis map tilesets for instanced missions as well.

But if we're talking system changes then yeah I'd want to be able to place items in doorways, allow doorways next to each other, and to be able to make platforms, balconies and second floors more easily without stacking.

Pretty much the same things that hundreds of other people have asked for since I6.

1. Missions Architect terminal/entrance
Although since bases count as instances, here's an alternative:
1. Tailor NPC. Possibly in the form of a wardrobe or armor rack.

2. Mission Teleporter pads/expanded teleporters (possibly even one that can send you to any of the places you have beacons to)

3. Trainer

(Going beyond three)

4. Wentworths/blackmarket terminal

These ideas are meant to make bases more than storage units, but kind of a one-stop for about all you could need as a hero/villain

Being able to place items actually in the doorways. Yes
NPC's. Yes
Access to the entire "item" game database. Yes

The ramps and platforms capable of having items placed on them that are seen in many of the tech maps.

A single teleporter that can have all the beacons attached to it. It's silly that such a sophisticated piece of tech is only capable of having two destinations and a lot of base real estate is wasted on having to have either very large or multiple porter rooms.

Wall and ceiling items that look like hanger doors.

Not a new item, but would be nice if the base defense items played thier animations continually. The slow field does so the others should also.

1. Walls
2. Floors
3. Single room that can contain any item, filling the entire base plot, twice as tall as the existing rooms.
