The only defeat badges that 5th Column count towards are The Silver Bullet and The Slayer.

Slayer and Silver Bullet arenot hard to get as you can enarly get them from first 2 missions of Moonfire TF.

Also, I think, but haven't tested, that 5th count towards the invisible "badge" for 200 Council kills that unlocks Council Guns and Ascendant shields. Not that that's hard to get anyways.
