How to get to Galaxy City
Quote:
I've done this kind of foot race before and it's a lot of fun. The rules were simple. They had to be level 1, could not use anything other than the train to move from zone to zone, and be willing to put the toon in a special SG for the race so everyone could see who was a part of the race (and so they couldn't cheat by using a base.) We had a list of exploration badges that people had to get along the way (one in each zone.) If we have enough high levels, we would team them up to keep the racers from having a friend TP them from spot to spot. The first one to make it from AP to Portal Corp and have all the badges won.
OMG That is going to be my player event in celebration of I16!!! You have to go from Atlas to Galaxy using Perez Park and you have to go through the park, not around it. Whoever gets there first wins lol.

No, it was gone when COH went to retail. I don't know when it was taken out, but I never had to worry about it and I started playing the first day. Well, okay, I didn't know about the trains for the first week or so and getting from the KR door of Skyway to Perez Park really sucked, but then I learned and it was much, much easier to travel.
I seem to recall running into that when I started in Issue 3, TBH.

Yeah, well, we had the hollows.
"No, go around the edge and watch for mobs!" "But we can cut through the gulch..." "And the trip back from Atlas hospital will take longer. Trust me." *gets out book as teammates die to Igneous over and over.* |

This is why I laugh and/or eyeroll at people refusing to go to the Hollows until they have a Kings Row travel pack.
Seriously, Hollows should be mandatory*, just so they know how it feels to run from mob after mob of bad guys, pelted with super-heated plasma, lead, and the odd rock. Hell, back in the day it was just lead and rocks from Trolls and Outcasts. Now you get pelted by all kinds of junk. But you have a hospital, and a trainer! You rooks don't know how good you got it! ![]() *Some application of jest/sarcasm may be required ![]() |
And I'll be happy to take on any level 1 footrace. Although the 'Level 1's Storm the Palace' race is on a weekend if I recall correctly, and I work weekends.
Zombie Man has a link, maybe?
the yellow line train, its north-west of the atlas park statue, youll see it, but its kinda high up, what i dont understand is how did u see it, if u already went to Perez, usually you'd have to pass it, or at least be in sighting distance of it to be in Perez.
I miss the old hollow death races Those were the days when you spent an entire 20/30 mins waiting for the entire team to try and make it to your mission. The best part? It was actually fun trying to do so!

I still have a lot of fond memories of the Hollows, learning you can run up the war walls with Combat Jump, learning which route to take to avoid most mobs, Frostfire's ice slides, learning to use urban cover to make your way to the troll bridge. Good times.
They still don't totally outweigh getting a mission to recover Hera's jewel in the southeast corner of the map while you were still level 6 and XP debt started at level 5.

Not really. It's come up in conversation before and a lot folks have said it's neat and they might run something like that, but no one has anything specifically planned that I know of.
