Aaaaargh, once more my computer experiences trauma (immediately after speaking to Kat, again!?!). I somehow picked up that antivirus software PRO bug. I finally got rid of the damn thing but now I got no sound. The device drivers for the sound card say they're working properly. The little sound bar at the bottom of the screen says no audio output device is installed. Any thoughts?

Uninstall the drivers, and uninstall the audio device (in Device Manager). Reboot, see if the computer recognizes the audio device (either as an unknown device, or as an audio device). Go to the manufacturer's website and re-download the drivers, then see what you get.

It looks like Foo just volunteered to have his work dissected. 
Oddly enough I would'nt mind having one of my pieces go under the knife but I don't know that I have any start to finish City of Heroes pieces in color other than that LJ one I did and Suichiro already gave an excellent critique of that one. Most are pencils or pen sketches that I run out of time to work on and new ideas crop up that carry me away... I may have to take a week off after the holiday season and try to finish up some of my WIPs.
(ok rambling here but I too would be interested to hear an educated critique happen in real time 
)

You can rip one of my pieces to shreds. I have zero formal knowledge of composition and only learned of the rule of thirds in your video a couple of weeks ago.
I go by feel, so actively using my brain would be a nice change.
Well I'm similar. I usually just draw things and move them around until I think they look good. A lot of times, I resort to some formal idea of composition when I can't seem to get soemthing to look right. So then I'll go back and check what I've done in terms of whatever formal rules come to mind. I'll try to offer up some suggestions on composition, but its something I struggle with myself.
I picked a bunch of pieces from a handful of people to discuss. The overall theme that seems to be present is logical/internal consistency in the pieces. What elements seem plausible and grounded in reality? What aspects seem to break with reality? Also, how does style impact believability and immersion?
