Quick Guide for All Scrapper ITF

Having just run one, and as per my last one, had an absolutely blast, I figured I'd write up a quick how to for others that want to run it. We only had 6 on this run so we took longer, but meh, we made it!

Missions 1, 2 and 3:

Kill everything a lot.

Mission 4:

Kill everything some more.

Ok, once you're at Romulus, you're going to need to turn off scrapperlock and use your brain. But not too much.

There are four entinties to deal with: Romulus, The Autohit Fluffy, The Healer and the Spawner.

We'll save Rom for last.

The Healer:
The Healer needs to hit in order to heal. Guess who's job it should be to get the healer out of Line Of Site. (LoS) Aye, your SR scrappers. Two of them can solo this creature. They should pull the Healer right around the corner of the stairs so that it has no LoS on the rest of your teammates. Its heals will miss the SRs and they can tear it up.

The Autohit:
Guess what this thing does to SR scrappers. Yup, that's right, it kills them dead and does so quickly. Have two regeners on this punk. Just far enough back up the stairs so that it can't hurt the rest of your team.

The Spawner:
This is the one that spews out a bunch of weak but annoying fluffies. All of their blasts have slows which can be hell on many scrappers. However, two willpower users can sit in that mess and regen themselves happy. If you can, try to keep all of the mini-fluff blasts firing away from the rest of your team.

That leaves Romulus and two more scrappers. If Rom gets too far from any of his fluffies, they will float to him regardless of the level of aggro they have on them. This means that your last two scrappers need to hold him on the steps and be strong enough to handle his big hits.

As long as he stays put, and as long as the healing fluffy stays out of LoS, and as long as the autohit fluffy is kept away from any defense based scrappers, you should have no problem dealing with the final event of the ITF.

Once the SRs have killed the healer, they can join the two holding Romulus. 4 scrappers will make short work of him and he'll take out either the spawner or the autohit. Be sure to get out of LoS of Romulus' body when he falls so that his self-res doesn't disorient you. Once the two have control of whatever fluffy is left, the other 6 rip up Rom again. One last repeat with all 8 on Rom and you're done.

Still curious why you take out the fluffies. It's easier if all 8 scrappers take out Rommy 4 times.

Ahhh, but that's the beauty of it. At the very beginning I noted that we had just done it with 6.

1 invul could hold the healer fluffy and another the spawner fluffy leaving 6 to gang rush Rom while taking turns dealing with the autohit. Even as an SR, I can hold aggro on the autohit as long as I stay the heck out of dodge when it fires off.

What I described above is the "easiest" way for a team of scrappers to handle the situation. But we all know that 8 scrappers can do anything... cept that no death masters business.

Maybe if you don't have any SRs on the team. I've got over 1850 HP and 27HP/sec regen on mine, but that autohit fluffy rips through me in no time.

Would it be possible to blast through all your insps taking Rom down once and hope the autohit is the first to get eaten for rez? Sure.

But it's gonna suck if your 8 scrappers are letting the healer heal Rom too much while the spawner is nuking your recharge and the autohit is frying your invuls and SRs.

I wouldn't say that.

Oh I like the idea and it is worth trying imo, it can be a little bit more flexible as in you can have 1 on Rom and 1 on the healer while 6 take out the other 2 before joining on the healer and then to Rom, plus more possibilities. I would like to do it so I think it maybe on the list for me.

Ya know.. since they are putting the Masters of ITF (I think) in with i-16... I think I will try that. Lowest diff, of course, but it sounds cool.

You can, with careful maneuvering and a little luck, stand such that you are in range to melee Rommie but still outside of the autohit Nictus' Mire attack - especially now that melee range is 7ft. It's how I've fought Rommie without getting killed on my SR (those times I did get killed horribly, now...)

That wasn't my experience. I'm assuming you were using your Claws/SR, so my DM/SR has an advantage with Siphon Life. With a good bit of luck(and three medium green inspirations) I was able to take down the last 15%ish of Rommie's health while the other six scrappers were laying around and taking their time getting back from the hospital.

Though I don't expect to be able to do that consistently. That auto hit fluffy sucks.

I bet that's is what happened to me. I never knew that piece of info. Maybe this TF is soloable after all...

It's been soloed already... Nihilii did it w/ DB/Inv.

Personally I think Master of TFs are possible with all scrapper teams, just takes a little reigning in on the scrapperlock.

Seriously, when I do ITFs on my DM/SR, I'm bored on anything but Challenge 5, heroic is a walk through the park... this is with taking all ambushes, Nictus in Mission 1 and Cimerorans in Mission 2, soling phalanx in mission 3... seem to do that last one on ever Heroic ITF I do.

Ran it with 4 tweaked out DM/SDs a ?/SR and 3 others I forget. It was pretty epic. Beat it in 25 minutes.

Good guide, but I have some suggestions.

Missions 1 to 3 is perfect, I agree with your strategy.
In mission 4, I'd suggest to do the following :
- Charge and kill everything.

Reigning in on the scrapperlock ?! Pfft ! I'll just pop insps.

although I remember hearing/reading something somewhere (comic-con q&a maybe?) that TF starting requirements were being left alone because they were meant to be team activities (yeah.. that didn't make much sense to me either... it just sounded official).

Yup, Positron is standing firm on this one apparently. The attitude seems to be that forcing players to be annoyed by arbitrary team sizes in the hopes that we'll team against our will is more important than allowing players to accomplish what they can accomplish without hassle.

Yeah... the fact that his logic seems inconsistant with the mission difficulty changes and to some extent the SK/Lacky changes gives us a glimmer of hope.... except of course that he explicitly said 'no.'



Sort of changing topics, sort of not... Anyone else ready for them to make the crystals in mission 2 to be real crystals instead of just punching bags?

You mean the ones that sometimes spawn when you have squids on the team, that spew fluffies that kill people until you kill them and they blow up, killing more people?

This reminds me of when I did ITF for the first time and I heard the leader say, "destroy the crystals last!" Im thinking to myself, "what are you, nuts?"
