Mastermind: Which is better for PvP: Pain or Poison?

Now, I just started playing, but already as a Mastermind, it seems that Pain might be the best possible route to go, as I do not have a lot of power against other players in my own self. Since I have to rely on my minions, healing myself to keep the army as a whole alive seems paramount.

On the other hand, with poison, I have many ways of weakening and stunning my foes... I just can't tell which will be most effective at a later date.

Can anyone give me some advice?

(I am determined to use the undead as my summons, by the way. I love the undead, and just can't keep away from them)

MM pets did not get a damage boost with the i13 changes so I find /poison to be the better choice, especially if you plan on being agressive. Also if you go with Black Scorpion as your patron you can get webnades and powerboost. Powerboosted siphon life is a decent heal. Your pets also all have siphon life and I find zombies to have a fairly lower upkeep required. The first set of pets die often, but they recharge pretty quick.

Pain on the other hand is a great heal set and if you are playing with a team and feel more like being support then it can be alot of fun as well.

Agressor vs Supporter is pretty much what it comes down to in my book. Both are important, but it depends on what you care to play.

Pain is harder to kill. Poison is easier to kill with. It really comes down to how you like to play, more defensive or offensive.

Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

Just roll a therm MM when i16 hits

with poison you can slow down players and debuff them so they die easy, and considering that players go for the mm and not the pets, pain is not that good...

pain MM's are the toughest to kill on villains. you can stall a duel and not die, but you prolly wont kill it either

Tell that to the 1 on 3 duel I had with my Pain MM.

A well-played Pain MM is one of the hardest-to-kill builds in the game right now. Even a badly-played Pain MM is still tough to kill - the set's just that good on an MM.

I can only tie Pain MMs on my scrapper. Every other kind either dies or kills me.

A Pain MM lacks damage. They are kind of like fighting a tank, but more damage, and more survivalibility. I would go the offensive route. Take /poision and as said from above, power boost.

Go /Pain MM so you can taunt heroes in RV on broadcast with lines like "LOL I never saw a tank run so much in my life." and "Do you ever fight without a heavy?".

Bottom line though when people PvP on a /Pain MM they are hard to kill, just that they won't do much killing because they are easy to evade.

I have both /Poison and /Pain secondary. I couldn't tell you which is "better" because my play style differs dramatically between the two.

Poison I tend to be more offensive and less team oriented. Poison is also a much more active secondary as you will constantly be applying debuffs and micro-managing between pets.

As a pain MM I play the role of tank/support; meaning I buff team-mates while drawing attacks away with Challenge. I wouldn't be able to do this with Poison as it doesn't have the survivability Pain has.

Really depends on your play style and whether you're team-oriented or a duelist, whether you prefer Arena duels or zone and team Arena. it IS possible to play a pain MM solo, but the secondary comes into its own on a team.

Arena duels with Pain, you'll most likely be tying matches with scrappers (especially regen) where with Poison you stand a very good chance of winning.
