City of Heroes Does PAX! ~Discussion~

I feel bad for missing out on it due ot my making so little money since I love collecting goodies for my main account (presently I have every version of the game and booster pack added to my account) and wish there was an alternative to the bonus costumes (i.e. the freak boss ,artemis and ring mistress costume permenant powers) to be made available to the people who love the game but are unable to afford to make it.

Who knows maybe there will be some sort of anniversery event or Issue release that gives us that second chance like how non preorder players got the prestige sprints as a vet reward.

I would die for one of those costume codes, just so peeps know, I'm offering 650,000,000 inf. for one, (assuming this is legal). Just shoot me PM if interested in negociating.

Will the CoH folks be making an appearance at PAX East in March 2010?

those codes are handed out a freaking unfair times and it's sad. I'm a loyal fan of this game and I just can't be on at the times those codes are handed out in an amateur way. I think it's sad, wrong and BS how it's handled. Some people have lives and it would be nice if everyone would get a shot here. Or just let us buy them. I'd pay retail price for them (not just that one on ebay, I mean them all) but I mean seriously, the time they are put up is a bad time for some people. Do it primetime, or a more convenient time and announce it in a way where it's more accessible than on these forums... or an email to let people know. last week all through the day time works hours when people work was when the codes were released. sad sad sad. Make it fair. Some appreciation to all.

March 26 is fast approaching, and if NCSoft/Paragon Studios is going to make an appearance at PAX East, I'd like to know so I can get a ticket to the show before they sell out. If there's no CoX presence at the show, there's no reason for me to go.

Unfortunately the PAX website doesn't yet list the exhibitors (at least that I could find) so hopefully someone from NC/PS can give us a simple "Yes" or "No" to the question of whether the company will set up at this show like they do at PAX West.

I have no intention of going if the ParagonStudios people wont go and seeing as the Facebook superbus App shows a bus from NYC to Boston for 40 bucks and a hotel ticket costing me 500 for the weekend I want to know if I should go and see the devs for the first time (Yessir I am a Dev-Virgin).

I also looked online several times and I have not seen anyone present and I am anxious to the point of of despair.

Alright, so we are now exactly two months from the start of the show, and PAX has posted the following on their website:

FACT. We will sell out of badges for PAX East Coast 2010.
If you want to go to the show, now is the time to register. Much like PAX Prime, based on what we’re seeing on pre-registration numbers there will be NO BADGES AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. I don’t like to use all caps, but I felt me being rude for a minute there was worth trying to avoid some very angry people at the door in March.


Can we PLEASE get some word from official channels as to whether NCSoft/Paragon Studios is gong to be there? I can't believe there's any way that the company has not yet decided whether to set up, so if you're going to be there, please tell us, if you're not, just tell us that too.

I will be far more upset if the show is sold out by the time NC/PS confirms they are going to be there than if they just tell us now that they aren't going.

If there is some stupid non-disclosure agreement that prohibits companies attending PAXEast from telling their fans they are exhibiting at the show, at least tell us that.

...you'd be willing to go to a PAX solely based on if Paragon's gonna be there or not?

I went to PAX Prime last year. Paragon Studios was about 1% of my time there.

There is so SO SO SO much to do and see at PAX, that if you're only going to see Paragon Studios, you're really short cutting yourself.

Go because you want to be part of something awesome. Paragon being there would only be a cherry on top of an amazing sundae.

Not that it's any of your business, but I donated $100 to the American Red Cross Haiti relief fund last week and $200 to the Real world Hero charity drive over the holidays. On average I give between $500 and $1000 a year to various charities, so not to sound like a ********, but I'll spend the rest of my hard-earned money any way I choose.

As for not taking a ticket away from someone else who really wants to go to enjoy all of PAX, well, the simple answer to that is for Paragon Studios to make convention exclusive costume codes more widely available to non-attendees, since THAT would be my primary reason for going to the convention. Also, I would probably only purchase a one day pass, so I would not be preventing others from buying passes for the other two days, or a three-day pass.

I imagine that it will be just as fruitless to ask this week as it has been every week since the first of the year, but...


Is NCSoft/Paragon Studios going to be set up at PAX East?

Just checked this morning and I see that Saturday-only passes are now sold out in addition to three day passes. I suspect all passes will be sold out in a week or so.

I will be livid if NC waits until after all passes are sold out and then announces they're going to be there.
