A Question about the Imperious TF
If you're in doubt, bring backup just in case. Get some shivans, a few bio and chem nukes, and if things get bad, use them.

There are three Nictus. The Healer, The Mire, and the Spawner. Other names work too.
The healer nictus fires a power like Twilight Grasp that can hit virtually anything at the same time. It's power is accuracy based so your shields should prevent most of the healing from occuring.
The mire nictus regularly fires a power like Sunless Mire. It appears to be either auto-hit or super high accuracy. This power may tear through all of your Shield based high defenses.
The spawner nictus regluarly creates bonus koosh balls that shoot you. A regular AoE into the horde should keep their numbers in check.
StarGeek gives an excellent suggestion of bringing more firepower. What you also may want to do is have one player pull the Mire, and maybe the healer too, slightly away from Romolus and all your friends bashing on him. Far enough not to hit Rom and your friends, close enough so they don't run away.

Are there any good melee sets for debuffing? I'm thinking Dark Melee but I'm not sure.
The swords debuff defense but you can put the Achille's Heel Proc for -res in there and that will help some.
Arc 52555: Tower of Darkness
Arc 139668: Bob's Crazy Car Dealership
If you have 8 BS/SD scrappers and they all have the Achille's proc in one attack, you should be able to get some significant debuff numbers out of it. The proc will not stack with itself, but it WILL stack from multiple users.
If you have one available and want to stay all melee, bring a Dark Armor scrapper, tank, or brute to pull the mire nictus away. I think that mire IS auto-hit (it hit my wife's SR scrapper every time, through Elude) and it is negative energy, which DA resists better than anything else in the game.

Any decent regen scrapper can tank it for quite a while as well. It's a mite difficult to maintain tanking if other people are attacking it (since I have to expend considerably more END) but the only times I had difficulty were when my timing was off on some click powers.

I am planning an event with my SG friends that will be an all shield defense ITF. Some in the group think it won't be an issue to over come the healing AV that surrounds Rommy. I am not so sure. Would anyone care to share their tactics when trying to do an all melee style ITF?
I did an ITF the other day that had only 1 buffer/debuffer and we plowed through everything but Rommy. We couldn't complete as he and his AV fluffies ripped us apart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
now that said I would sugest slow and patient through the first couple missions /shield does great on the ITF don't cross the seal on the cpnsult the oracle fin. really I believe patience will be the key.
as for romy and the nictus with that many brutes I would say have 2 brutes taunt the nictus and the rest tank romy
once again good luck
