Agreement. I look at every post individually, and if it's a good or bad one I'll give IT some rep, not necessarily the poster. People I generally like haven't been at their best all the time, and people I usually think are worthless loads have occasionally made a post that was insightful. (I have no one on ignore, for cases like the latter.) It'll all even out. I expect to be treated the same way. People asking for rep one way or the other just get the cold shoulder.

I give it about another month before it all gets turned off, and good riddance. People ought to be judged on a per-case basis, not pre-judged by the lights (or the stars).

The fact that you "bust" people proves that you DON'T trust everyone's opinion on each and every post. You do your own research to prove them wrong. Thus you're busted.

Actually if you check my "busting" history i've only ever busted people when they've said something but done the complete opposite or when they say something thats so wrong it deserves to be busted [in a friendly way]

Theres trusting peoples posts and then theres letting people know that they made a mistake in their post [which is what busting is, in a light hearted manner] to help keep the forums as informative as possible. After all, isnt that what forums are for? To find the correct information you want?

But yeah you took the context of the post out of whack since the OP is about why somebody has only got a low rep when that person seems to be quite popular on your servers. I replied stating that a person shouldnt need a rep bar to be noticed, they should only rely on the content of their present post and not think "ok im trusted now so i dont have to put as much effort in". Thus my post came to the conclusion that that is why i dont look at peoples reputations/past experiences, but only what they are currently saying and not automatically thinking "ok they're right because they got a high rep".

We are all wrong from time to time [even if none of us like to admit it] and that is why peoples CURRENT post should be trusted at first glance. If the post turns out to be incorrect then so be it, least you gave it the benefit of the doubt.

Regardless of my original intent with this post I highly recommend that everyone read the Rude Tells thread. It will make you laugh and give you hundreds of ideas on how to deal with the obnoxious players we all sometimes stumble across without losing your temper.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I've gotten enough of those types of tells that I don't doubt the truthfulness of those posters. I also have over 10 years of experience working telephone customer service and know just how obnoxious people can get when they don't have to look you in the face. Sure they can be rude in person but they really cut loose when they know you can't beat the crap out of them.

The fact that he is playing an MMORPG is apparently lost on him. He must think this is a first person shooter game. What a dingleberry.
