Yeah, it sounds cool. Should work great when combining Stone with fire or ice.

The referenced page is completely meaningless without the context for the responses. Is this typical of how twitter works? If so, why does anyone bother?

That's the "draw" of Twitter. It allows short, immediate, off the cuff comments. Unless you see an "@NameHere" preceding the comment, the message isn't responding to anything.
And if you do, then you can click the "in reply to NameHere" portion to see what the message is replying to.

It's all about the sound bite. 
Does sound nice for those who wanted gems or crystals for Ice Armor. Then again, they'll have to take Stone Armor, not Ice.

Being able to recolour granite would be awesome. especially as you can already recolour Devouring Earth enemies in the MA anyway.
For people who want to make their Granite Armour look like it's made out of mud, sand, or salt. (Or whatever else...)
Unfortunately BaBs (Least I think it was BaBs) has already said Granite will not be customizable (whether "at this time" or "ever" I do not know).
Granite Armor is not a power effect. It is an NPC entity that replaces your character avatar entirely.

Maybe they will add lava and crystal entities... though that sounds like a bad idea if they can't be customized either, and your ruby tanker suddenly turns to amethyst.
A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

And yeah, having alternate appearances for Stone Armor and Stone Melee would be awesome if it really is something BABs is working on. I wonder if any other Stone powers would also get alternate appearances.
