Channels seem to be > SGs. Heck I mostly team with dUmbies, but couldn't tell you what SGs many are in now (quite a few have private SGs) so IMHO a good channel would help more than an SG. If only Gabz would create one...

All but three of my alts (2 Taxi's and 1 Villy) are in these SG's, which are all run by one fantabulous hero!

if i had to throw out an awesome sg name that did mostly fun stuff and helped the community at the same time....it would definitly be them Taxibots
but if not that, any of the sg's that are having fun then join on of them channels thats promoting tf's and regular teaming like crazy....pretty sure Gabz knows one

While we do fit the description from the OP ("non-farming mostly task force/non-AE oriented active supergroups on Infinity"), the situation ("A hero asked me...") is awfully close to the the random person in Atlas Park broadcasting "Looking for SG". As our policy states, we don't broadcast or post here for members, nor are we interested in someone when the only thing we know about them is that they're looking for an SG. We're only interested once an SG member has teamed and/or chatted with someone and gotten to know them a bit.
While this does mean that new members are relatively infrequent, it also means that our turnover is ridiculously low and this has resulted in our steady movement up the SG listing. And, while the SG listing isn't necessarily a good indicator, for an SG that did not exploit and has never farmed for prestige it does actually tell you something. Last time I checked, the main SG was #44 and we got there mainly by doing TF's, arcs and trials as a group.
But, like I said, we're not interested in strangers. Which is why I didn't mention the names of any of our SG's.
hmm... that last part sounds rather standoffish. The fact is, we do actively look for new members - just not random heroes 'off the street'. Personally, I have a character I use specifically for meeting new players. I delete and re-roll when he gets to around level 15 or so. I think he's in his 7th life currently. Also there have been numerous occasions where I've met someone through the forums, met up with them in-game, and eventually ended up with them joining the SG. By that point, they were no longer a stranger.
Of course, I'm sure no one cares. I just like hearing myself talk... um, type. My next post will extol my humility and modesty.

You know,....I heard this rumor, going around...that someone on infinity started a new channel....A channel that's geared toward teams....teams that try to avoid AE....kinda like how alcoholics try to avoid alcohol...but i just CAN'T remember the name of the channel. Sorry i couldn't be much help.
Damnit Joe, I think you're thinking of a channel that starts with an E...or was it an A? It's on the tip of my brain...
