Super side kicking = no more level range abuse

The second feature is what we have come to call “Super-Sidekicking” but actually applies to all types of Sidekicking: Exemplaring, Lackeying, and Malefactoring as well. With this system, everyone in the team will find themselves automatically level adjusted to the level of the owner of the Mission that is currently selected. If there is no mission that is currently active, then the level is set to the leader of the Team.

Well, if they are trying to stamp out powerleveling this hard, that tells me this game is quite financially secure. Thank you, all of you Comm Officer exploiters for finally pissing off Positron enough to rid it.

I see so many great things in that post personally. The whole lvl 1's getting in to RWZ and other hazard zones is full of win. Also the 20% to xp for the lower levels is boiling over in awesomesauce.

While I don't powerlevel and find the broadcasting etc annoying as hell, the idea of everything being limited to +1 level of xp doesnt sound great to me. Well I guess on invincible you could get +4 levels of xp sidekicked. That is dependent on the team being able to handle invincible though. Call me greedy but I like occassionally getting +2 or 3 levels of xp when teaming.

I think I am ok with sacrificing that occassional boost in xp for the broadcast spams and irritating tells to end. Plus everyone in the SG being able to team together regardless of level sounds great. Its a pain in the *** as a team leader to make sure you have proper levels of sk/exemplar when building teams.

I like everything except the auto-examplar feature.

Sometimes a lowbie will need the help of someone high.

Bringing the ******* down to your level isn't any more helpful.

That should be optional. Carry on with removing bridges, though.

I agree with everything in this post.

I'm also happy about turning off the email. Horray for no more 59 emails of spam.

The idea is that you can join the team with your high level toon. Get to the tough part and Quit the team to rain fire and brimstone. That way there is no chance of gaining benefits since the off team toon is doing the killing.

I kinda like this auto-SK idea. I'll have to see how it works on implementation.
The one big draw of AE is that everyone gets the auto-SK/Exempt thing, so it takes the worry out of searching for people only in a certain level range for half the team.

I thought the SK system was one of the best systems in the world for MMOs when I first saw it. And although this will broaden the base for making teams, I think it deflates a bit of the "flavor" from guys grabbing a lowbie sidekick. There was much Roleplaying to be had with sidekicks.

Except that now you have an average paper mission with regular drops filled wall to wall with lvl 54's, and only two players if you want.

Love this, even if it does kill PLing.

Task forces will no longer have to juggle their loads to let lowbies in. One 50 can take 7 35's on the mission... or (if I'm understanding this correctly) one 35 can exemp 7 49's.

Maybe I misread, but I didn't see anything about level restrictions on hazard zones changeing.

Nevermind my last post...after finding the full forum on the subject I did see that.

Yes, but that is a good thing.
  • It offers a range of challenges for those of us seeking it.
  • Will make it where the only people that are getting pl'd pretty much are the people that already have multiple toons to pl themselves and are forced to actually play the game to pl.
  • Hopefully that will help the purple market as well. Perhaps those farming for the sake of just farming will go back to regular PI maps now that they can do so there just as easy.

Now that I've read the entire post by Posi, words cannot describe how shocking it was to read all of that being added to the game. I can't wait to see it live.

Oh I was implying all of those things, in essence it's not a deathknell to high xp at all, in some regards pl'ing will be easier for those inclined, and the rest of us don't have to be bothered by spam/mid tells.

The childlike glee of entering a mission solo and seeing packed (PACKED) 54's........ amazing.

Did you hear that? 20% increase in xp to level 1-20's. All the good farms are going to be capped at level 20 in i16.
