OK these boards are stupid

I can't see all sections with out clicking to find subsections. On top of that I have to log in every time a page refreshes, even though I have pw saved and have remember me checked.

I'm not impressed.

It's kind of silly for it to be collapsed. This was painful.

I'm liking the things we can choose to get or not get. I like the look... but having trouble with the "jump to last unread post" like it did on the old ones.

And I HATE not being able to subscribe to a BOARD, and not just a thread. *shrugs* Lotsa clickin' to get to Protector board.

There's an arrow near the thread title that points downward that sort of works as a 'new post' button, but it doesn't work very well. As far as the collapsed threads go, if you look at the top of the page there's a bit of text that looks like this:

City of Heroes Forums > English > Servers > Protector

Hit the English link, it leads back to something a bit more familiar for us.


Meanwhile, I find that the new boards turn off Firefox's inherant spellcheck.

Up at the top, if you click on "English" (City of Heroes Forums > English) and bookmark that, it will bookmark it with the sections expanded.

Handy tip for those who've not already figured it out, the time displayed for posts and whatnot can be adjusted in your Control Panel under Edit Options. There's quite a few other handy options there too. As for your NA Elric, look at it like this, you're an Elric, the North American variety. Very rare I hear.

lmao, I just figured out the whole Reputation deal here, that's funny, that thing will be abused like a (utterly inappropriate under-age girl reference deleted). Click on the scales below anyone's name/avatar and you can give them a Reputation point. Take that One-Star Bandit.

Okay, I'm not exactly a huge fan of these boards either.
Something like PHPBB or SMF might have been more flexible for the users, but the community development wonks needed something they could get adapted for their purposes.

I just wish I could get a flat board display again instead of the silly nested boards.

Devs! This feature SHOULD be available in the admin control panel! Turn it on please!

Also, going to have to fart around with the search system a bit to come up with a decent new post search that ONLY grabs the English boards.

Ah well. Learning curves. Ain't they a female dog?

One thing I do NOT like is the new board logon schema. A compromise of the board potentially allows someone to dump our logon data. Think about it, what could someone ELSE do with the "new" user logon data you have to provide?
