This IMO isn't a bad thing, tbh, but putting this 'European' English forum here smacks of 'sure, you can use the bus, but you have to sit at the back'. English speaking CoH players should integrate IMO. There are more US players than Brits - the City Lifers aren't going to move to this forum, its been their home for 5 years. We have a chance to merge communities for the better, let's take it. Irrespective of how you take me plea, here, I'd also like to take this, my first chance to speak to EU players of CoH, to say: Yay! Welcome! Isn't CoH AMAZINGLY Cool?!?! I'm really stoked that I can finally say HI to my fellow Brits (especially any Wleshmen out there!), and...er...that's about it I guess...hm...ooh - I can plug my AE review thread, I guess!. It's...er, hmm...Where's the URL thingummy stuff etc... Ah sod it, i'll have to have a look.. TBH the whole idea of a EU section in the 'American boards' is slightly offensive!
1 i though it was a MERGER not a delete EU push them all over to america!

Surely you have to have sections for none english speaking players but there are lots of players that dont speak just the 3 languages on this forum!
Go on and blast/flame/insult me. tell me its in the 'for fun' section. Say more ppl will apprecieate it more than not. truth is its still illogical, counterproductive to a unified player base & ever so slightly offensive!

When the offer to move to the EU servers came out, I refused it out of hand, even though I live in Europe. Why? Well, why would I move? It didn't make sense to lump Europeans in the same basket then and it doesn't make sense to do so now. So what if I'm 7-10 time zones ahead of the bulk of the players? I'm 1-2 time zones ahead of most other Europeans anyway. I guess my point is that this division between Americans and Europeans is silly. Not only are Europeans nothing like each other just within Europe, but Americans are probably just as diverse within the US. |

They actually installed the EU Lounge to do us (the old EU board members) a favour, because a portion of us were worried about loosing our small and cozy community into the big ocean that is the US forums. (Not me personally, but I still find it nice to have an EU lounge.) So your EU vs US landmass size argument doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But by your own admission that wasn't really the point of it anyway.
By the way, it is in the 'for fun' section, more people do seem to appreciate it than not and 'truth' is, it only seems illogical and counterproductive in your (and maybe some others) mind. And really if you are offended by this, you REALLY need to grow a thicker skin.
But I'm fairly sure you knew all of those things (you admitted to most of them) but found you had to find something to gripe about just because you can.

I think this thread is derailing a bit.
I have wished that EU players would be setup on the same servers as the US players for around the clock availability of members for pickup teams. Marketing & Business guys deciced otherwise. Too bad.

Note that I am French myself and playing on Freedom for 57 months now and have no intention whatsoever to read the French community section. Can't understand the power names anyway as they translated everything with no relation whatsoever with the english names which I am so accustomed to.
