Can't recall seeing any Crey ones but there are certainly Nemisis Tiraeliers about and I seem to recall Spetznaz have some.

Whether they could code it to only pick up on non-mission (i.e. "outside" snipers, I've no idea, but that would presumably allow the requirement to be dropped to something attainable redside, where they are indeed vastly less common.

I did mention that only open world snipers should count as I knew that especially Nemesis snipers are common in missions.

how about a badge for killing a certain number of crits with just your sniper power? i can think of a few reasons why it might not be as simple to implement, but, just a thought. Killing snipers is really no different from killing any other type of crit so whilst the extra badge for killing snipers is always fun to have, it would be good to see a badge for something slightly less obvious, that required a bit of skill and/or patience to earn.
Getting crits isn't skill though its random. Besides only Blasters, Defenders, Corrupters and Stalkers get a Snipe IIRC. What about the rest of us?
Original suggestion is just an additional kill badge just for a different type of mob.

I dont agree, but ok, if thats the case, then my suggestion is neither harder or more difficult than getting any other defeat badge, so whats the real objection? But... i do think killing targets with sniper powers is a little harder. it takes timing, patience and placing if you are attacking mobs of your level or above. Otherwise you risk aggroing the mob and you're not likely to be sniping much in the middle of them, unles you run away and wait again, using timing, patience and placing. It might not be much harder but its a little bit more complicated than "see mob of chosen crit, plough in, use area of effect powers to kill multiple targets, finish of stragglers with single target attacks, go to next mob". Sniper powers are single target attacks, so accumulating a kill count of 100-200 via sniping alone is somewhat more praiseworthy.

ummm... maybe i'm mising something here... how is that different from the already existing healing badges? Last time i checked, scrappers, tankers and brutes are not going to get those either. Leastways, i've never seen any of the above with an earnt healing badge.
I guess what i'd like to see more of is badges that actually mean something, as well as all the usual fun but meaningless ones. Defeat badges dont really mean much generally (and i am generalising, there are some defeat badges that aren't so easy), in terms of skill or patience, but they're fun to accumulate. I just think its always cooler to get a badge that wasn't as easy as the rest usually are.

Ah, but they can get it if they so wish, using the Medicine Power Pool. Sniper powers however are unavailable to most ATs, and Positron made it clear that they dont want to add badges that are unatainable by some archetypes.
ok, thats a good point Imoba about the Medicine Pool. And i also wasn't aware that a policy statement on this had previously been made by the devs, so again, fair enough.
Personally though, i dont see it as a problem to have badges that are not attainable by some AT's. its not the player who cant get them, its the toon, if you really want the challenge of earning a badge, create a toon thats capable of it. It may be that i'm the only one who sees it that way though

If you have a toon who was especially made for getting as many(if not all) the badges in the game you gonna be pretty angry if suddenly a badge exists that is only for an AT that isn't your toons type.
I think I would and I'm not even that into badges...

Error in translation!
Crit = Double Damage
Mob = killable NPC.
As for the suggestion, all my blasters would have this badge as soon as it was added to the game as all use their Snipe a great deal.
Also not all blasters/corruptors/defenders/dominators have a snipe:
Ice Blast and Sonic Blast doesn't.
Now if some additional ancilliaries were brought in for Scrappers, Tanks, Brutes, MMs (do they get a snipe same as Stalkers in their PPP?), Widows, Soldiers, PBs and WSs then fair enough.
TBH I always thought that the Munitions Mastery APP (the Blaster version) would make perfect sense to any AT.
Yip id like a sniper badge 250 maybe a fine amount to kill.
Id also like a void badge as well that be nice again maybe about 200 or so voids

"Killing Snipers is really no different from killing any other type of crit" Snipers are an enemy rank for mobs. Crits are when you deal double damage with a power. They're two totally different things.

How would dealing criticals be classified as "skill"? Landing criticals are random. In addition, playing as a Scrapper or Stalker would make this badge easy as hell!
I realize that Lost Ninja has already corrected you on using certain terms for in-correct meanings, but I've never previously encountered anyone to mis-interpenetrate the meaning of "crits". I didn't intend to cause any offence (just incase I did); but this stuck out to me

To me, "crits" are creatures/npc's/computer controlled thingy's i kill. i never meant critical hits. dont ask me where i made the association with "crits" as being short for creatures, i honestly cant remember, but nethertheless, thats what i meant. i really dont see how anyone can get hung up on the idea i was talking about critical hits, but thats ok, we're all clear now.

LostNinja correctly identified that i had my terminology wrong, not that i was talking about getting badges for landing critical hits. leastways thats how i interpret his post after mine. Anyway, i hope you feel better after having listed them out. Sorry that it wasn't about what you thought it was about.
So, for the record, i was suggesting that there be a badge for killing npc killable thingy's with your snipe powers, regardless of the fact that this badge would effectively not be able available to all, and without the knowledge of the policy statement by the devs that all badges should be achievable by all AT's, which i am now aware of (thanks to Imoba). i didn't see it as necessary to start a new thread cos it was similiar enough in theme to the current thread. apologies if i have upset anyone by posting here. apparently it wasn't polite.
