You might want to go to the thread with over 120 pages over speculation/links to the trailer and everything

Oh and everything you just said isnt speculation, its confirmed

More than one new zone, as they mention "new zones", not "new zone".
I've no idea how we'll get to Praetoria though - it looks like GR is not going to be 40+, so just using Portal Corp like we do right now doesn't realy look like an option.
Will they make Portal Corps offices in lower level zones? And if dimensional travel is so dangerous, then would they really encourage it like that? Or will there be some kind of dimensional rift that makes accessing Praetoria much easier than other dimension? Something similar to the Ouroboros portal, perhaps?

Oh.. Happy days then!

Maybe they will have found a safe way dimensionally travel? I doubt it will b level restricted though because that's like someone buying City of Villains to find out they need to get City of Heroes to play it.
They sort of encourage it in a way though, they always tell us t go through the bloody portals Maybe it will be one of those "desperate times call for desperate measures" situations?

Well we already know that he is preparing his troops for assault so an all war/battle is almost a certainty, even if it is just in their dimension/new pvp zones in ours.

Cant remember who but they did mention that we'ld need both coh + villains to play the expansion (so it COULD look like CoR wont have hero/villain sides installed on the disk).

Re dimensional travel: There has to be something of interest in their dimension to get both heroes and villains travelling there. Say a well of incarnate power perhaps

Well, the idea od dimesional rifts or ruptures is already in the game, as several Portal Corp missions involve us having to seal the ruptures - so it's possible that something Tyrant does causes dimensional ruptures that can't be sealed, which would help his invasion plans, but it'd also give a good explaination as to how anyone was now able to access Praetoria - while other dimensions would still only be accessable via Portal Corp, the passage between our world and Praetoria would become impossible to regulate or control because of the ruptures.

And this incarnate well gives us something along the lines of an awesome new power of our choice?

Well lets just say he has sealed off the well which is the source of his "unrivalled power", now to defeat him we must get to the well.

A hero would destroy it/seal it to stop tyrants evil reign.

A villain would see it as an opportunity to finally get the power he/she needed to achieve their objectives.

Now isnt that a good reason as any to a moral decision?

But he might not be invading us, we may be invading him. If you're about to be attacked you could also say prepare the troops for an assault.

Wish people would stop referring to it as CoR: it's not a standalone game. The acronym, if one should be used, is CoH:GR or GR.

Nah, you're too small for me. I only pick on people of my own size.

Oh and to keep this remotely on topic:

GR: yeah, don't like it, don't want it. Still going to buy it though. Because I'm stupid that way.

Would be but for some reason the company doesn't use that adorable petit nom (boggles the mind I know...) If you do look at the official site for GR you'll see it advertised as City of Heroes (line break) Going Rogue. Hence, CoH:GR.

I would start eating tasty Dev heads if this were to happen. That is a PITIFUL amount of content for an expansion. I foresee three new zones at least, Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, much more than one or two taskforces...where did you get the Manti story from? You know this is about the Praetorian Statesman, Tyrant invading our dimension, as well as Villains becoming Heroes and Heroes becoming Villains?

Aye, given that we have been told that we will be able to travel to Praetoria, and we have seen Praetoria in the trailer, I believe we can consider an absolute minimum of one new zone confirmed content.

There must also be sufficient new missions in Praetoria to swing your moral compass from red through grey to blue and back.

Since we have been told you can switch sides an unlimited number of times, some of that content must be repeatable.

The new powersets, and any graphical update, could well be considered free content, and form issue 16, if GR launches at the same time.

That is far from confirmed. What is confirmed is that we will be looking for Tyrant in his own dimension.

I really should do something about this signature.

How can you not like something so awesome?
This is going to add so much to the game - not just content, but backstory too - right now, the Praetorians are just another set of Portal Corp missions, but GR will give them their own world for us to explore - that's totally cool.

Since Manti has sorta always been walking the line between good and evil maybe? And why else is he shown in the trailer if they weren't going to put content about him in it? (And yes I know Statesman is shown in it but he's the top of the food chain so of course he'll be in it)

Posted

I think it's reasonable to assume Manticore will be in it (as will Ghost Widow). No reason to suppose he will be the central character though.

Manticore doesn't really walk the line between good and evil though. Disagreeing with Statesman doesn't make someone evil. It's more a case of States is lawful good, Manticore is chaotic good.

If they make GR possible from level 1, and the current set-up of like 10 levels per zone is followed, then that'd be at least 5 new zones.
But if they decide to try totally massive zones instead, then there might only be two or three needed to cover the 1-50 content.

I did make a huge post about this but it got lost in the mass of the other GR thread, about three zones, 1-24, 25-40 and 41-50. They are separated into three different areas with different sets of contacts. You can either play all the contacts that boost your rogue meter to maximum and go rogue straight away, or play the current alignment ones as well and continue your ambivalent journey exploring the rest of the zone.

I'm not sure you'd be able to go rogue straight away - previous mentions of it by the devs said that it wouldn't be easy to do, which makes it sound like it'd take several arcs before you were changed enough to switch sides.

[/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, I'm not disputing that. In each area there is three contacts and what would be good is some version of a paper mission. One contact would have good-aligned missions and one arc, maybe more. One contact would have evil-aligned missions and the same amount of arcs. And the third contact would be morally ambiguous with both good and evil aligned missions. The "paper" missions would all have their own alignment sa well, so potentially you could change in alignment in one area of a zone, it would still take a while however. And I assume that after you've got your meter to max, you would go to a special contact to prove you've really changed, where you would have yet another, more difficult arc that may end with a fight with an Elite Boss or Arch-Villain before you are truly allowed to switch sides.

I think that maybe the changing sides in relation to levels might work that at certain levels you are given the chance to change sides, like 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. The only way you can change sides before 10 is by not picking one, and starting in the neutral starting zone in Praetoria where you do the missions not to change, but to discover what kind of hero you are.

Hi! I would appreciate it very much if this discussion could be continued on the other Going rogue thread.

It makes it that little bit easier to track things down when feedback/suggestions/speculations are not scattered across several threads.

Thank you!
