Advertise your arcs with style!
Great idea, I will submit my arc as well!
ID: 200496
Author name: @Electro-Cute
Description: It's basically "Help Little Red Riding Hood to save her grandma from the Big Bad Wolf". You get contacted by the little girl and you are sent in a wood where magic is all around (Croatoa map).
The arc is currently composed of a single mish where you rescue grandma and kill the wolf, but I plan to expand it to a 3-mission arc where you first save the Huntsman and then he sends you to kill the wolf. Critters are wood fairies.
I'd like to have a poster with woods, mist, Little Red Riding Hood on the foreground and fairies on the background.
And great job on your previous releases!

Right well here I am with another new Poster to show you!
This one was a good challenge to work with because it meant I had to find lots of new resources and brushes etc to pull it off how I wanted. I went with a much more grungy feel than I would normally to try to show off the effect the events in the arc would take on the normal populace and living conditions etc.
I love it. Thanks Soul Storm
You know when we got more time it may be an idaa to host the posters across on cog. can link them to the mission itself then.
Fantastic work mate, will have to get my arcs up to scratch once I15 hits us
No idea how you do it, but keep doing it! XD
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Right well this next one was a confusing one to try to pull off. I wanted something that said 'technology' but also that showed something clean and futuristic. I'm not sure if that intent was lost somewhere along the way but I like the way it turned out in the end.
Alright folks I'm back with a passion!
I've been away for 3 weeks from the game what with life being way too hectic to be able to commit to play, so I stopped my sub for a while. Before that I pmed and emailed in-game Beyond Reach, but he didn't reply so I'll just skip over his request for now.
I'm gonna keep taking arc requests, people, just bear in mind it's not a weekly service, it's a leisure thing that I will try to do as quickly as I can but if you wan't an arc poster from me, I'll put time and effort into trying to get it to be the best I can and that will take more than an hour or two, so please bear that in mind if you request a poster from me.
Onto the next one, hopefully it'll be in this thread sooner than you think!
Oooh, nice posters. I'd love to get one of:
Matchstick Women
#3369
Description: Emily Metzer is a crazed woman who has amassed a cult following of women arsonists. Follow the flames to find her and stop the madness!
Poster: I want to feature the Matchstick Women custom group, but not Emily - I'd like to keep her appearance a surprise for the arc. The thing that I always love seeing is how the auras look in the distance on the third map, it would be great if you could capture that.
Dr. Dave and the Copper Legion
ID: 60280
Author: @theHedoren
The Contact is Dr. David Diaz, who is an archaeologist/superhero. Working in Cimerora, he's found evidence of the Copper Legion, an ancient army of metal soldiers formed from a pact between the god Vulcan and a paranoid Cimeroran emperor. Dr. Diaz is trying to track down the Legion, but we find clues that someone else is searching at the same time. The mysterious third party finds the Legion first and unleashes a full-scale invasion of Paragon City, narrowly stopped by superheroes. Dr. Diaz and the Player Character track down and defeat the person controlling the Legion.
Stylistically, I've pictured from the arc from the beginning as a kind of Indiana Jones adventure. I'm sure there are many other interpretations, but that's how it struck me.
And a link to my very own soundtrack for this arc (tinyurl.com/CLtracks) would be an added bonus for me.
Rise of the Copper Legion (#60280; with soundtrack)
The Fractured Dreamer (#498588; with musical theme)
"Now Leaving: Paragon City": original composition for the end of CoH
Arc 55669 - Tales of the PPD: One Hell of a Deal (video trailer)
Arc 64511 - The Wrecking Ball
Arc 1745 - The Trouble With Trimbles
Arc 302901 - HappyCorpse
I would assume the OP means actual arcs that the author spent time and effort on, rather than only arcs that are serious in tone. Why spend more time on a poster than it took to create the arc it advertises?

Arc Name: Too Many Bunnygirls!
Arc ID: 101165
"The number of bunnygirl missions is getting out of hand, time to do something about that. Now's your chance to end the scourge of bunnygirls forever!" (this is comedy, obviously, and yes I put in a LOT of time on it, I took my comedy seriously)
Plot Outline: an evil scientist is turning people into bunnygirls and must be stopped. She's also running a notorious super-celebrity tabloid newspaper (think "Positron's Circle of Thorns Love child!"), both of which plot lines tie in together. Oh, and lots of rabbit-based puns.
Not to hamper your creativity but I was considering something along the lines of the CoV load screen that has Arachnos minions "bursting" out with Lord R behind them, but with bunnygirls for the minions and a silhouette for Lord R (of the evil scientist). Come to think of that, it could work pretty well. Come to think of that, it sounds like a real pain to do too. Maybe something with just a carrot, someone reading a newspaper with a tabloid-style headline (maybe the title of the arc right there in fact)... Anything's good, really.
This is some fine work! I'd like to add my story arc to the queue,
The Golden Scepter
ID: 9852
Author: @Mystic Fortune
Description: The contact is Mystic Fortune, though in the arc he is referred to as the "Mysterious Traveller" and/or "The Watcher". He starts off by asking the player to retrieve a recently unearthed artifact (The Golden Scepter) which is discovered by Doc Delilah. The scepter has unimaginable power, and he wishes to banish it from our world before it can fall into the wrong hands. Before long his attempt to banish the scepter backfires, and his mind is ripped apart, the player then has to help the Mysterious Traveller regain control over his mind, so that he can track down the Scepter again, which he believes has fallen into the hands of the demon Pathos.
When you get around to mine, we can exchange PMs about the design of the cover, I had a friend work up a quick drawing of what I had in mind, unfortunately that didn't really pan out, but it could be used as reference.

Ok guys I'm not going to mislead you into thinking I have a new poster to post (I could post a proof but its only half complete and I dont really want to post half complete when I cant edit it)
What I am really doing here is just letting you know that the last couple of weeks turned out to be some of the most hectic of the year, but not to fear and just letting you guys know I'm still alive!
Currently I'm on holiday back home for a week for a much deserved (well, that's what I think!) rest and if I can I'll install photoshop on this rustbucket of a pc and continue my latest poster and have something up for you to observe and critique by the end of the week!
No complaints on a longer than expected wait on something that's completely free. Looking forward to seeing the results though.
Okay well I'm true to my word! This is definitely before the end of the week...
I spent all this morning downloading the Photoshop CS4 trial from Adobe, and this afternoon I carried on developing the concept I showed ReclusesPhantom and under further instruction the following is what I ended up with:
Recluses asked for a destroyed city scene in the background so I thought..."hey that's a good idea" little did I know it would take 2 weeks of searching to find a suitable image! After playing around with lighting levels and textures that would accent a more grungy look, and re-downloading fonts etc that would be incorporated into the image I came up with something that was both atmospheric and seemed interesting too. Let me know what you guys think!
Onwards to the next poster!
ID: 309783
Author name: TESSERAI
The arc is about a army Majour that goes nuts and tries to blow up both The Rogue Isles and Paragon City.
Basicly you have to go to 5 diferent places and deactivate the 5 bombs
while fighting archvillans all in timed missions
This is my first time on a forum so if its wrong do say lol
Alright folks this will be the last poster I do while I'm on holiday lol...
I thought I'd surprise you and knock another one out the park. This time? Lady Arete!
The arc features biker gangs and night clubs. It's surprisingly difficult to find any decent pictures or source material ideas for these things, but managed to find some with the aid of friends.
Hope you guys like it... NEXT!
Hi guys! Just to let you all know that I'm not dead and i've definitely NOT given up on the arc posters! I'm currently working on Lord Mayhem's arc poster, which is quite intricate in details and the idea behind it so it's proving time intensive to find everything I need.
In the meantime I've been doing 2 wallpapers for Going Rogue that was meant as a bit of a break from the arc posters because that's all I've done for a while now. If you want to check out the wallpapers and download them, go to My DeviantArt Account (newly created)
I'll pop back in here soon as I can to show you a new poster!
Hi Soul Storm,
Unfortunately I do not know my way around Photoshop, but would love it if you would consider creating a poster for my arc! I have spent countless hours working on the arc and received some pretty nice comments, but getting a dev award is hard to do, which is my ultimate goal.
The arc name is: "Insect Invasion: Paragon City"
Arc number: 306752
Level: 52-54
Description: "What happens when you mix magic with insects? Play this exciting story arc to find out! Guaranteed to give you a whole new respect for the insect world..."
Here are some of the comments I've received: "nice! lots of detail", "interesting and captivating storyline", "Very fun with excellent dialog", "Cool custom characters, good for team play". "great arc - really enjoyed it", etc.
Please let me know if you have the time to make up a poster for me. And if there's any additional information I can provide...
Sincerely,
Chris

Just thought I'd give you guys a bit of a status update.
I've been busy setting up the previous posters I've done for everyone on DeviantArt, and you can see them Here on my DA Page along with 2 Wallpapers I did for Going Rogue as a bit of a break from the posters (it's all I'd been doing for a while).
But now I'm back on track and working towards a poster for @Lord Mayhem's fantastic arc (it's really good!). I'm finding getting the style down (Film Noir) more difficult than I thought as it's hard to get Film Noir Stock.
Still I'm hoping to get this poster done by the end of the week!
Wish me luck guys!

Take as long as you need and have fun - no rush - I haven't been around much lately on the forums or in-game due to RL (in particular a pesky wrist injury preventing me from playing or using my PC much at all), so I can appreciate things not going according to plan.
I wish I could help, but I'm not so good at PC-based art, so I'll stick to storytelling.
Okay guys I'm back with a new poster to share with you!
This one took a while because the author was quite specific (always a good thing) meant I had to research and find out the style and what I was doing to try and make this poster a good'un. After literally weeks of searching I managed to find the right elements to execute the poster!
Took around 5-6 hours from scratch (after I had all the bits and pieces) and I had some computer trouble near the beginning so I had to remake it as well!
Let me know what you think guys or any suggestions how to make it better.
Next is Electro-cute! I'll try to be a little quicker on this one...
If you have the time at some stage you might like to have a crack at a poster for my arc:
Arc Name: A Mythos of Mystical Mysteries
Arc ID: 84285
Author name: @Lord Mayhem
I'll put the other details in white text so I don't spoil the arc for when you play it, which you'll probably want to do to see which Death Cultists you want to draw and get an idea of the atmosphere/story first-hand:
Main features: a Death Cult affiliated with the Banished Pantheon is searching for an incarnate/deity to sacrifice, in order to power a ritual to bring the BP gods back to our plane - on their target list are Ermeeth (Circle of Thorns god), Hequat (Mu goddess), Stheno (Snake incarnate) and a few others (Statesman and Lord Recluse would have made it in as potential victims, if I had more space - as it is they just get a mention).
Poster idea: The background/setting is the graveyard in Dark Astoria - probably at night for extra atmosphere, with swirls of mist and the silhouette of a gnarled tree against the moon. The middle-ground should be a number of Death Cultists (anywhere from a few up to a horde, whatever you wish) staring coldly at the viewer. The foreground could be a Death Cult Executioner, holding his unholy axe at the ready in both hands, stood between two graves. Slumped against the gravestone on the left is a dead Circle of Thorns mage and slumped against the gravestone on the right is a dead Mu Mystic.
That should suggest the flavour/content/theme of the arc without giving too much of the story away.
No rush and no probs if you don't fancy doing this poster or want to use your own idea. Thanks.
