TR gone
I know this could be taken as mocking, but it really isn't.
My sympathies for your loss, TR players.

EU, Union mostly.
Good event - though the very, very end was anti-climactic as I'd expected a bikini atoll moment with the penumbra doomsday device... had factor 1000 suncream ready.
And I don't know about anyone else, but Hydra (the US server) is showing as offline to me even though it should be up for 6 hrs more...
Oh well - there goes a fun game.

Definitely anti Climactic - was expecting more i have to say - but that was my first forage onto the multiplayer map of earth, so im glad i took a screenie of the empire state building behind taken checkpoint towards the end...
Like a plonk tho, i saved one screenshot of 1 second before the server went down - but then uninstalled TR and lost the other 20 screenies i'd taken in that last few hours...
The multiplayer side of earth only opened up for this one event.
It was normally instanced.
In the US side of Earth they ended up with 5 different instances of it and *still* it wasnt enough to prevent serious lag.
Let put it this way... i shed many a tear tonight... and now i am off to bed to recover. A part of me has been lost and shall never be regain (could be due to the music in 1 certain area though).
TR though *will* live on though through the people that it has brought together in the community... i can promise you that much.
It was indeed fun and I rather remember it like that then remember it is now gone. AFS kicks Thrax [censored]!

I did wonder, as i went to earth via an instance friday evening to see what it was like. Got my bottom handed to me on a plate and promptly left.
I didn't realise the MP part of Earth was only for the event...
Thought it funny that several neph were chatting in general and everyone was back-chatting them. And the admin messages that shouldn't have come up etc, made me smile.
If peeps were wondering - i was 'Kaz' in the chat - i saw Gangrel chatting a lot and Judgement in there too..
Rabbit - were you typing as BlueRabbit, or a different name?
I was "Titler" in the chat (My WH: DoW name too)... and yes, it was alas anti-climactic. Apart from the trying to herd cats element (people raced immediately to Earth the moment they realized it was open, when it would obviously end there anyway), we lost one or two zones before enough people clicked we needed to hold them, but then held the remainder, so a probable majority of the planets' zones... We also, as far as I know, beat the Neph on every Earth Instance but Earth 2 (out of 5), as people largely gave up in the last few minutes and said their goodbyes at the end... and then just before midnight there was this announcement:
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/5944/00000055.jpg
And that was it. Um... whut?
Still, I had fun whilst I could, and I feel a little sad I wasn't there from the beginning, there seemed to be a fair amount of depth to the game I never got to see.
Irony that alot more people seemed to enjoy the game knowing that it was going down.
Err... not much sense I made.
But that more people where having fun while it was on it's last breath.
And it had the best Halloween event I have participated in.
Wonder if I can get my 12 months worth of veteran rewards in TR transfered over to CoH
It's not running away. It's advancing in reverse!
I eventualy took my 30 and continued on earth (Rince was the name), not that great idea being 1 shotted by nearly everything But i stay with my opinion, if they gave it way more advertising back in the old days it could have been a stable game.
I got a trashload screenshots, and i dont think any MMO will ever give the feeling again that i had with a handfull of people getting back a AFS base, or defending one.
edit, also noticed Avatea did the last few notices, how you feel about it being totaly gone now?

Earth 2 (the zone i was in) definitely succeeded against the Epics and Neph at least once, completely cleared. But then they came back after 30 mins once people had gone off to other areas or earth zones.

Yah... People tend to enjoy going the easy route.
Sadly...
I was Rabbits as someone, oddly enough, had taken BlueRabbit. What are the odds, I ask you?

It was a couple of things - many new people seemed to be in the game as there were a load of people (in the past 2 or 3 weeks) saying 'wish I'd known about this game earlier' or similar.
I think that TR got more people hearing about it because it had become free and was being closed down. Heck - sure there was even the odd one from these forums who'd never heard of it trying it and enjoying it.
So the good thing to note is that NC may be terrible with advertising, and they may force games out before they are ready, but they do end up with decent games that people enjoy when they eventually find out about them from word-of-mouth about their closure and moving to F2P.

Note for NCSoft...
Shutdown CoX and people will start play it.
Not sure if I mean it as irony...

The thing i still wonder, what would CoH be if they did had proper advertising? kinda each NC game has got his succes by play 'luck' (?) or such, just like Aion in Korea made a succes without big advertising, i do not hope they will do the same on our or US side.
But my sences say, issue 15 will get graphics updates. At that point, they trash out advertisment, along with the hope MA will be a succes and news will spread of this rather unique thing in the MMO world.
