Welcome to the nominations for November & December Creative Genius!

Please use this thread to nominate submissions for the Creative Genius award for the period of November and December 2008.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with the guidelines for the Creative board and the Creative Genius competition before making any nominations - you can read them here.

These nominations will remain open until 6pm GMT on Friday, January 30th. Two winners will be announced on or before Friday, February 6th.

To nominate a submission, please post a link to the appropriate post.

There are some important rules to bear in mind when making nominations:

Right, I've been waiting for this.

I'd like to nominated Happy_Dan, for pretty much his entire collection of NaNoDraMo drawings, as featured in this thread: http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/showfl...art=13&amp;vc=1

Selfishly, this one features one of my characters, but beyond that, it's a great piece of work which really catches the characters well. It was taken from a roleplay session, a grudge match between the two of them, and it really brilliantly captures the no-holds-barred nature of the fight. The expressions on their faces, particularly Columbia's, are excellent.

PS. There was a lot of excellent artwork in November. I'd love to nominate DrDestiny's stuff too, but since I'm only allowed one nomination and I've always preferred comic art drawn the way Dan does it, Dan gets the nomination.

Ummm... for the sake of clarity, could we have a bit of further explanation of the month? October, November or December?

Also is this a single creative genius spanning a 2 month period or do we make nominations for November AND December?

I appreciate it's 3.30am as I write this but I'm somewhat confused

If in doubt, always go with what's in bold. I never forget to update that bit, since it's obvious. Fixed the OP.

That would be two nominations for November, not one for November and one for December (unless you mean Doc D's christmas tread, but as you said NaNoDraMo...) also, Happy Dan has already been nominated (as well as Doc D's christmas thread) twice, and this isn't a voting thread, but a nomination thread.




For December my nomination would be for Darth Delicious and her CoX drawings

Righto ... not an easy decision!

So, here's the results, starting with the easy one:

December 2009: DrDestiny for his Christmas Character Portraits.

I will also issue a smaller runners-up reward to Darth Delicious and the artwork found here.

And now the harder choice, November: LeighB for The Wandering Year.

And this time, two runners-up! Happy Dan, for 50 amazing pieces of art and Lady Arete for a great Badge checklist tool.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think this might be the last Creative Genius awards. Now that's GR's going to be relocated to US/leave NC, I think, unless we get a new mod, there will be no more of these...

So, if that is so, it has been a very creative 3 years or so. If anyone wants to make a award for the best Creative Genius post-recent forum wipe, I'd think we'd be happy to participate.

But anyway...gratz to the winners. Good stuff.
